''PLEASANTON, CA — Detectives are still working to solve the death of a young woman whose nude body was found on the side of an East Bay road 37 years ago.
Dana Ramm's body was found on Dec. 29, 1986 on Andrade Road in Sunol, according to the Alameda County Sheriff's Office.
The 20-year-old woman had been strangled, authorities said. She was last seen alive the night before at a Chevron gas station at the corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton.''

''Ramm was with two acquaintances in a brown Oldsmobile that had run out of gas, and she waited alone in the car while they went to get money to buy gas, the sheriff's office said.

When they returned, she was gone.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sheriff's cold case investigators at (510) 667-3661. To remain anonymous, information may be submitted via the anonymous tip line at (510) 667-3622.''

''The message hits my heart every time I read it: "Our Victims are never forgotten."

''That's how the Alameda County Sheriff's Office closes every social media post spotlighting the anniversary of a cold case homicide still pending for the department. Right around the winter holidays, there were four in quick succession.

"The Alameda County Sheriff's Office believes revisiting cold cases is essential because victims deserve answers, justice, and closure. In some cases, technological advances help us relaunch cases and solve them. We never give up because we owe it to the victims and their families. We also owe the communities we serve as safe an environment as we can provide," sheriff's Lt. Tya Modeste told me this week.

Two from the Tri-Valley caught my eye especially.

Dec. 29 marked 37 years to the day that Dana Ramm was found dead in Sunol, her naked body left on the side of Andrade Road.''

It's really too bad no DNA evidence was left on her, because genetic genealogy can solve so much nowadays.

I didn't see any article that indicates there's no DNA....

I wonder if Deveggio and Michaud were involved? They were definitely in the area killing and abducting at the time. Kellie Jean Poppleton was also dumped in Sunol so there might be a tie to that murder too? Then a few years later Ilene Misheloff goes missing in Dublin.

Hopefully a cold case unit can look into all 3 cases and see if there is a connection. Ilene is still missing and presumed dead which is the only outlier. The other two were dumped in the same area.

Which in a SA there usually is. I have also read where police have exhumed the body and been able to retrieve DNA. Apparently they have a DNA profile in the Kellie Jean Poppleton case. I would be interested to see if its the same perp.

''(KRON) — Exactly 39 years ago, a young woman vanished in Pleasanton before she was found dead along the side of a Sunol road. The killer of 20-year-old Dana Ramm was never caught.

On Monday, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office asked the public for help to finally solve the cold case.

Ramm was last seen alive on the evening of December 28, 1986. She was inside a brown Oldsmobile that had run out of gas and was parked at a gas station on the corner of Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton.''

crazy, i have no memory of that. i lived about a mile from there at the time, and we were regulars at the safeway behind that gas station. granted i was a kid at the time, but old enough to have heard about Ilene Misheloff and Michaela Garecht.
