Good point re protocol. I'll check out what's possible up here, just in case it falls within the established guidelines.

I think it'd be harder to do with airports and ferries, as they're government agencies. I think any requests would have to come from way higher up the chain as they have such strict protocol and requirements.

Awesome Boss TKS !~

When Hasanni disappeared, I contacted the Front Office of the Oakland Athletics baseball team. I told them that little Hasanni was missing, sent his details and his picture (and NCMEC poster), and asked if they wouldn't mind putting him up on the big screen / jumbotron at some point during some upcoming games. They agreed.

I'll contact them again for Daphne.

I don't know why we don't do this more often. NOT an e-mailing "campaign" by any means. But just having one person contact any major sports teams in the area a child is missing. We always think of post offices, gas stations, bus stops, restaurants, etc. But professional sports leagues (even minor leagues) could get their information out too. What's the worst that can happen? They say no or ignore it. Not any worse off than we were before... I'll let you know if I hear back.

Great idea!

people are usually seated in stadiums... So they are kind of like "captive audiences" ... And therefore IMO more focused than when they are running into Post offices/shops/etc.!

Im not saying fliers, shouldn't be put in,those places...

Just that there are,up,sides,to missing persons' faces being put,up on big, screens!:thumb:

(Sorry for my comma overkill... iPadisms... :blushing:)

With Hannah Anderson being found alive ( :) ), Daphne is now the only active AMBER Alert again. Still missing. :(

This was from Thursday but I didn't see it.

The other Amber Alert: Where is Daphne Webb?

With a much-publicized Amber Alert still in effect for two kids missing in a suspected murder-kidnapping -- 16-year-old Hannah and 8-year-old Ethan Anderson -- police in California are searching for another missing child who vanished seemingly without a trace in early July.

Come home sweet baby Daphne !!!!!!!!!
Your mama's waiting for you :)

  • #430
It's been over a month now and this poor sweet girl is still missing. Amber Alert remains active.

  • #431
I am honestly surprised that her aa is still active.

As of today, I can't get Daphne's #AmberAlert to load :'(

In fact, only the google webcached version (dated August 2) is accessible.

http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...4932b36b5f529d730f/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

FWIW, I wasn't able to load www.amberalert.com either, so perhaps it's a site/server issue. With all of the media coverage Hannah Anderson received, and the eventual positive outcome, I am trying to wrap my heart around the idea of this #AmberAlert being cancelled.

@Sarx, is this Standard Operating Procedure?

OAKLAND (CBS SF) — Family members of missing toddler Daphne Webb were set to gather in Oakland for a “Love Walk” in her honor Wednesday afternoon.

At least two dozen people were set to start walking at 1 p.m. from police headquarters at the corner of Broadway and Seventh Street to City Hall in Frank Ogawa Plaza, said Roslyn Robinson, Daphne’s great-aunt.

Concerned members of the public were invited to join the walk.

“We just want to keep her name in the public eye, we want to keep her face out there,” said Robinson. “We don’t want it to die down and we don’t want to lose hope.”

Klaas said that recently, Webb's disappearance has been eclipsed by the case of missing San Diego County teen Hannah Anderson, who was found safe in Idaho with her captor, James DiMaggio, on Saturday. Authorities believe DiMaggio murdered Anderson's mother and brother.

"I probably took 100 phone calls last week and only one of them was asking about baby Daphne," he said.

"This is still ongoing, nobody knows what happened to this child, and just as much as Hannah Anderson deserved to return home and be found, so does baby Daphne," Klaas said.

:( Come home Daphne !

Just another reason to admire the work Marc Klaas does through his foundation.

The dad doesn't show up for a walk to bring attention to his missing baby, but someone connected to the case only through his love of children pushes to get media coverage and public attention for Daphne.

Maybe the dad just didn't want to be around the grandfather who seems to doubt the story dad told, but surely he could have just been there long enough to thank people for supporting his daughter.
