Details of Disappearance​

On June 8, 1983 Jonke boarded a flight in Los Angeles, California, bound for Berlin, Germany. It was established that he did arrive in London, England, but he apparently did not get on the connecting flight to Berlin and has never been heard from again. Los Angeles police are investigating Jonke's disappearance.

Dietrich Jonke, a retired druggist, left Los Angeles on June 8, 1983, via Pan Am Airlines with an eventual destination of Berlin, West Germany. Jonke stayed at the Cromwell-Tudor Court hotel in London, England from June 9 to June 14, then checked out of the hotel at approximately noontime on June 14 and has not been seen or heard from since. He had planned to go to Paris, then Berlin.
Seems strange that the Los Angeles Police Dept is listed as the Investigating Agency. Dietrich obviously made it to London, so the UK should start the investigation, shouldn't they?
