CA - Domestic Dispute between Chris Brown & Rihanna - cancels Grammy performance

  • #141
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Pop singer Chris Brown was sentenced Tuesday to serve five years probation and to spend more than 1,400 hours in "labor-oriented service" for assaulting his pop star girlfriend, Rihanna.

Also Tuesday, CNN obtained a probation report for Brown that says the pair were involved in at least two other domestic violence incidents before the February attack for which Brown was sentenced.

The probation report, which CNN obtained after Brown's sentencing, was used to reach his plea agreement.

Brown, 20, was arrested after an early morning argument inside a rented Lamborghini on a Hollywood street on February 8.

Police investigating the February 8 attack "learned of two earlier incidents related to domestic violence that went unreported," the probation report said.

Wasn't there a ruling also that he must stay away from her for five years?

At Tuesday's sentencing hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg also ordered Brown to stay 100 yards away from his former girlfriend for the next five years, unless they are attending music industry events.

Schnegg warned Brown that he could be sent to state prison if he violated any terms of his sentence, including staying away from Rihanna.

Chris Brown says he still loves Rihanna

By Amy Huggins

Editor's note: R&B singer Chris Brown spoke exclusively with CNN about his arrest and sentence for assaulting Rihanna. You can watch the full interview on Larry King Live, Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Pop star Chris Brown has admitted guilt and apologized for assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February, but he does not remember hitting the singer, he told CNN's Larry King.

Looking at police reports about the incident makes him feel like he's reading about a stranger, Brown said in his first television interview since the arrest.

I'm thinking he started the day out having 2 shirts on, then as things warmed up he took off the short sleeved shirt. VB

yes - but i guess he never thought about what he put on in the morning... or maybe i'm just over-reacting? that is just what they call those tanks here... maybe not everyone -CB included- calls them that.

::shrugs::

The people handling this guy have to catch a clue-he is paying them too much money. clearly I would have pointed out to Chris that one does not wear a wifebeater on the first day of community service, hot or not.

believe - are you seeing his choice of attire as merely "unprofessional"? i didn't even consider that LOL

what got me upset was the fact he beat up his girlfriend and is doing community service for it and then chose to wear what he did. he of all people right now should not be wearing that item! but like i said, maybe he/his friends don't know the term "wifebeater"?

I saw the pictures and it never occurred to me that he purposely wore a "wifebeater". I'm from VA and yes, we call them that. I think like someone else said he probably had another shirt on over it and when he got too hot he took it off.

Yes it is unprofessional, but given the fact that the tshirt has the nickname it does, it was stupid. Flat out stupid. So either he is just that stupid or he is making a non verbal statement. I think it is both, but that is JMO based on his handling of the whole incident so far.

Dude-work up a little bit of sweat in a Tshirt with sleeves you know-Hanes. Leave the wifebeaters/tanktops at home...again jmo.

believe09, I think you can chalk it up to stupidity. Why would he purposely wear a wifebeater to make a statement? His career has already suffered enough, why make it worse? Unless he's REALLY stupid and did wear it to make a statement. All in all he's just stupid.

I get your point, LB-fwiw, this is how I see CB: He does not get it. He gets that he is being punished for beating the snot out of Rihanna-but he does not get the part of himself that caused him to do this. Again, this is JMO. He thinks that saying he loves her, saying he doesn't really remember, being sorry (at least saying it if not really feeling it) should make it all go away. Done. Let's party and move on. So he got a little heated with his woman...you know what I mean? True enlightenment, and true sensitivity to this situation would cause him to back off, keep his head down, and pay attention to the small details that would indicate he knows he made a mistake not because he was CAUGHT, but because what he did was completely and totally unacceptable.

I think he is young, and I think he is stupid. But I also believe that the people he surrounds himself with are giving him bad advice-I think they are shrugging it off, spreading whispers about he and the victim spending time together, showing him with Rihanna look alikes, letting him do asinine interviews like on the Larry King show. I think a sensitive, thoughtful person would have skipped the tank top for example.
