Dora Shigaki was seen at about 1 p.m. casting her ballot at the Davis fire station at Mace and Cowell boulevards. Shigaki suffers from dementia and may have gotten lost due to construction in the area.
A citizen later reported seeing her walking westbound in the area of Monarch Lane and Covell Boulevard in northeast Davis at about 6:30 p.m.
Shigaki is described as being about 5 feet tall, 110 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a light-colored blouse, yellow cardigan sweater and light green pants.
It’s unknown whether she still has access to her vehicle, a silver 1999 Toyota Avalon with the license plate number DP304RS.
A search effort is underway. Anyone able to assist is asked to contact police officers at a command center established outside Nugget Market, 409 Mace Blvd., for further instructions.
