Kind of eerily similar to Helmut Ernst Altmann who disappeared in 1984, from a hotel that appears to be ~7 miles from Enriques hostel. He was also visiting from another country- Austria, also around October, and rented a car which was not recovered.

They believe he went sightseeing, could be they both were unfamiliar with the roads/vehicle they were driving and had undiscovered accidents though.

This is from Feb 2024! I wonder if he just ghosted his family or if it was just an episode and they are now all together there.

It's gotta be a different guy. The missing Enrique was a professor, nuclear physicist, mathematician and writer, who probably didn't go on to start a new career (physician, at that) at age 51. Also the missing Enrique is Garibay R, and the Cancún Enrique is Garibay B.
