Still Missing CA - Duke Flores, 6, front yard of his home, Apple Valley, 25 Apr 2019 *Mother and Aunt ARRESTED*

  • #161
In looking over the neighborhood on Google Maps, it appears that yards and empty lots have no grass cover etc. Is the ground soft sand there and easy to dig in or is it hard packed so digging a burial site would be very difficult? I also noticed that it isn't particularly far to get out of town to really empty, barren areas. I hope they have enough evidence to really pressure those two women as to where they put him.
The dirt in the high desert is extremely HARD and not easy to dig.

Since the mom and aunt were arrested and charged with murder I'm assuming they must have evidence of some kind. I just hope little Duke is found so he can be given a proper burial.
Did they spend anytime at Mojave Narrows Regional Park? That would be the second area I would drive through.

Thank you @la2cabo. That makes me think that looking for a shallow grave wouldn't be the first place to look, but maybe in a body of water or abandoned building kind of place.

What about this one, Henry? Virginia Park... Google Maps
That park looks like it has two soccer fields laid out on it and nothing else. Probably is a well visited park. A body would be easily noticed I think

Oh geez, you're right. I didn't pay any attention to those lines, lol. :p

Looking again at Google Maps, east of the their home, down Route 18, there are hundreds of side roads into the desert and into the hills. It is hard for me to think he will be found if he is out there, without specific directions. One of those women needs to turn on the other and bring that little boy home.
It reminds me that the McStay family was found out there in the desert by a motorcyclist. Let's hope it doesn't take as long for DF.

The third thing I would do is drive the full length of Navajo Road. On one end it dead ends at Papago Road at the airport. Follow that around both ways. In the middle of Navajo Road, its dirt road and open space. Explore this area. The other end of Navajo is Cholla Road that runs into Yucca. Looks for something a bit off the side of the road. Also a place that a car can park and easily accessible. Keep in mind that they may have intended to move him at a later date. I'm quite sure neither anticipated arrest so quickly.

I find it hard to ask this question, but do people explore or report circling birds when they are seen out in the high desert? Or is it just a common occurrence ?

Another innocent beautiful child. My heart can't take much more, it's just incomprehensible to me.

Fly high sweet boy, you will never hurt again.

I don't think there's any way to know the answer to that. Some people pay attention and some don't. Some people know what birds circling might mean and some don't. Sadly, some people don't even know there's a little boy missing. :(

Honestly, I don't think I've ever noticed birds circling. We have a lot of wildlife in the area that kills other wildlife so people probably wouldn't pay much attention to circling birds, if there is such a thing in this area.

What did we learn in Lucas' case? (You would think I would remember but...numbers.) Wasn't it that most bodies are left within 10 yards of a side road that will be within 150 yards off of a main road? Tim Miller came up with some stats and I wish I could remember exactly. I know to be safe, I searched at least 50 yards off the side of the roads.

Its not as bad as you think....10 mile radius from the house....something easy like slightly off the road. These two don't look to me like they are going to work too hard at it. That's why I said Brewster Park.

I think you are correct with this. Killers are lazy!

I wonder if the fact that they are twins and still sharing a house is making it especially hard for LE to bring one to testify against the other. Twins are supposed to be especially close with each other.

I saw the mother's Facebook. Did she have two other children passing away before or am I making some wrong assumptions? Anyone knows anything about the circumstances of those deaths?

We asked that question earlier. I agree with you, it would be interesting to know what happened there. It may or may not have been her children, could have been niece and nephew. But if it was the children of the arrested Auntie, more questions to be answered there.

Until they're not. I have seen some twins that have a literal Love/Hate coexistence.

The McStay family was buried in the desert, not too far from Apple Valley. And I don't think anyone noticed vultures circling, or at least they weren't concerned enough to report anything becsusiethey bodies were not found for a couple of years.

I think it has been shown statistically that women often dispose of children in water[ponds, lakes, creeks] or nearby water and wrapped in blankets.

Maybe that is an old wives' tale, but I have see it said often.

I'd really hate to think he is in a landfill, but it could be so. :(
