I'm putting this story here to show you guys how prolific this burglar is & how he does recon work & how methodical he is before striking, & the cops are sure he's ex-military.......although its in London, & he's been commiting these crimes over 12 years, they can't catch him, & he's hit the same neighborhoods.

The violent burglar dubbed the 'Night Watcher' could be the same criminal who has terrorised a wealthy London suburb, a top detective said last night.


Police suspect a soldier is responsible for a series of raids on Home Counties mansions, taking valuables worth millions after brutally beating owners.

The Night Watcher spends weeks in the grounds of the homes he has targeted – noting every move before he strikes.

Detective Inspector Dee Fielding, who is leading the Night Watcher inquiry for Surrey Police, said the culprit had 'specialist knowledge and skills' far above those of an ordinary burglar.

She said officers were working with police elsewhere to assess whether he may have committed more burglaries.

'We anticipate we will get some calls from other forces about further burglaries at similar houses,' she said.

'We work in an affluent area and it is not unusual to have multi-million-pound burglaries. We cannot rule out that he has committed further offences.'

No, the burglaries started around 2006, & continue 12 years later & the Night Watcher police say is the same guy & he started in 2014 with his first burglary & attack, & if he's the same guy, police estimate he's evolving into physically attacking people while robbing them.

Also, there's a picture if half his face on camera at night, but police still can't get any leads......police did arrest a suspect in the Wimbledon Prowler case but had to let him go, the evidence didn't match up to him.

Also, this burglar looks like he's in his late 20's to early 30's, especially the way he's climbing walls & jumping fences, he's been known to scale tall buildings, so I doubt its EAR/GSK.......GSK is an older man now a days.

Very interesting! I can see where someone might be leaning that way about the offender's background. I could also see it being someone in city planning or a municipality's planning office. The athleticism and patience is something that seems like it might be a stretch for someone in that type of employment though. I wonder if they ever gave any time to looking at city planners or someone who would have worked for the developers in an office role.

The only hang up I have with those being possible jobs for the EAR is that it seems they did a lot of preparation and stalking before action. Having a background in landscape architecture myself, I know that working hours are inconsistent and can have a lot of long nights therefore leading me to think they probably couldn't have had too much time to spend stalking or if they did, it wasn't with enough consistency to where they would get to know so many details.

I really have no idea why so many people hit on this angle, but you also have to remember, that was a different time. There were no computers then, so sketching out an initial map could have been what he was doing.

There is also a lot of speculation that he went to American River College. They had a course in city planning there, so it also could have been for a homework assignment.

ONS seemed to be a master of throwing people off. He used various voices during his rapes and did a lot of weird stuff/used a lot of red herrings.

I imagine when they find out who it is, it will be nothing like anyone suspected.

Yes, there is an actor that looks like this sketch (I forget his name)

What you have to remember about these sketches is all of them (aside from the one where he is in a full baclava and only his eyes are seen) are of "suspicious people" others saw in the area. None of them are truly reliable.

If you think about it , it could be that the reason his home invasions are so well performed is because he didnt plan it . What I mean by that is that he just picks a house and goes for it ( which would confirm his probable prefrence for unprepared victims ) . Also , if he were to plan it , he could risk being seen on or close to the premises ( presuming he evaluates his " target " before going for it ) . I dont really see another way he could truly plan such an event .

this is all very interesting - I used to love Gary Ewing! But the EAR/Golden State Killer has a very tiny penis - so does it really matter what he looks like - my God - someone should be able to identify that thing being so small and tiny and insignificant. All the alive victims report that he is tiny. On his later rapes they reported that he had a pumping device for his tiny penis. That he would actually spend time pumping up that tiny thing to complete his vicious ugly vile rape.

Forum acceptable source, please? All I can find is rumors, and actual reports that victims heard the pump from a lotion bottle as he lubricated himself before the assaults.

No it has not due to legal issues. It was talked about recently on one of the shows. Maybe the HLN one.

So literally the answer is likely in those databases. How frustrating. There has to be a way around it.

The databases sometimes do do it, thats how the grim sleeper was caught, I believe. It sets a really bad precident though, which is why the databases dont want to be involved. When people submit their DNA they are guarunteed that their data will be kept confidential.

Another possible option would be to have all of the hospital data from births in California put on a database, but I doubt that is going to happen to solve the case.

The Grim Sleeper was caught because his son had to give DNA to the police for being convicted of a felony......then the sons DNA was showing familial connection to the Grim Sleeper.

ah, I see. I wasnt sure if it was through the police database or through one of the websites. I was thinking of Erica Ruff I think.

Either way, the way their privacy works, I dont think there would ever be a chance to use 23 and me or ancestry for a DNA match.
