Yes she was working at Dennys in Rancho Cordova - when he called her at work in October 1982, 5 years after he raped her (Victim 24) in October 1977.

How did she know it was him?

Looks like a band-aid to me?

Saw this mug shot late last night - gave me the heebie-jeebies

Maybe it is I read someone in the media yesterday someone said his toupee was ripped off his head.

I think the arrest may have been over pretty fast but may not have been as "incident free" as LE claims. I think that is an injury on top of his head too. And he told LE he had a roast in the oven? How bizarre!
I can't help but wonder what he thought when LE popped to arrest him.

I was thinking his father was likely in the military as well, and was serving abroad. My American military is not as front of the line as my Canadian, forgive me.

Yes, father's last address is in Korea and same address he had when in the military. He died while in Korea.

incident free just means he didn't fight back too much... does not mean they handled him with kid gloves...lol

I think we’d all like to see this technology used to find them all, but the Zodiac killer has to be high on the list!
I would think after this it was sent out STAT!

Funny thing is, it's not new. It's been sitting there on Ancestry.com for years. Way before 23 & Me. The brilliant part is that someone realized how the tool could be used. God, I hope they start pumping all kinds of cold case dna in there now. The relative doesn't even have to know their family tree has been used. The research is all done by information willingly given up by informants! I know. I helped my friend find her birth parents this way. She matched up with first cousins, and from there it was simple.

RBBM

Wow. Oh, if only other informants would come forward to help solve other cases, such as Abby and Libby, Lyric and Lizzy, and so on.

Again, RBBM

I wonder if the relative's DNA sample is considered to be the "tip from the public" that different news articles referenced? The article I'm linking below refers to both the tip from the public and the DNA sample.

I wonder if one day in the future, an offender might send someone's else's swab into one of theses genealogy sites to deliberately throw law enforcement off the trail? Or worse yet set up someone else?

It might work for a short time.
The results would be double and triple checked and discovered to be forged rather quickly

I wonder if a search warrant was issued under a pseudo name and DNA submitted to the commercial DNA sites?

  • #933
There are unknown subs charged with murder .could be LE used a similar approach to submit unsub DNA.

Michelle McNamara talked about having his DNA submitted to the genealogy websites (Ancestry.com & 23 and me). They did find a partial match that went back many generations on his father's side, but too far back to track him down with certainty. It was mentioned his family line had German and British roots. This leads me to believe the relative recently submitted the profile to one of these sites and it triggered a match in their system that was probably red flagged.

Watching the show on this 🤬🤬🤬 on CNN. Can you imagine being raped and terrorized, only to later receive a phone call with a voice hissing "I'm gonna kill you"??????

Hearing that phone call gave me major heebie-jeebies. Good God.

With this arrest I wonder if they’ll validate that he actually made those calls...

If true (toupee) then maybe back in the day he wore wigs which resulted in the descriptions of hair hanging below mask etc

Wow!! Good call by the Websleuths here. I never would have thought of that.

Yup. Several Websleuthers called this one yesterday.

Michelle McNamara's book had nothing to do with his arrest?
BS
SHE PINNED HIM A NEW NAME!!!
& they repeatedly said
"GOLDEN STATE KILLER"
numerous times in the PC.
Michelle made people ask about the GSK!
She brought people back to the search!

Michelle did have a blog: http://truecrimediary.com/

She wrote about the GSK back in 2013. Renewed efforts on the case may have been sparked by her blog about it. I’m sure she did have some influence on this case.

[h=2]Wouldn't DNA proof eclipses penis size[/h]

I doubt that has occurred. I don't think that will be a priority given they have DNA to tie him to most of the crimes.

Thank God, I'd hate to see that in court. :jail:

I think of him as BFK, not GSK ;)
