Identified! CA - El Toro, Orange Co, BlkFem 18-25, UP7655, gold cap on tooth, clothes, hair curlers, Apr'83 Maritza Glean Grimmett

Well, another "dunno, she just ran away to Panama" case... with of course divorce in absentia.
She was murdered at home with her curlers still in her hair. I hope two face cheater "hubby" is still alive and gets checked out very well.
Well done, awesome work!
I agree.

Does anyone know what happened to her baby?

I agree.

Does anyone know what happened to her baby?
In most, if not all of those cases, the baby or kids are alive and well and have happily been raised by the new wife of the father. But had to grow up with being told that "mom left them" - i hope it is closure and relief to all of them when the truth is revealed

From Othram's media release

"....Approximately one month after the posting, a woman contacted investigators and said she believed the Lake Forest Jane Doe could be her missing mother....."

now that she's identified, hopefully justice can be had
Also for her daughters sake who first had to cope with the dad wanting to give her away, growing up without a mom and now finding out her mom never left but was murdered likely by the dad who probably was motivated by his affairs pregnancy (the fb doe site says affair became his 2nd wife).

Howard Grimmett (L) and Isabel “Terry” Cruz-Grimmett are seen in images provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
"Investigators in Orange County are asking the public for help Thursday in their search for leads after uncovering new information in connection with a cold case murder from 1983.''

''Now, investigators have also identified two persons of interest in the case including Grimmett’s ex-husband Howard Grimmett, and his current wife Isabel “Terry” Cruz-Grimmett. Authorities are hoping this information provided to the public will help solve Maritza Grimmett’s murder.''

''Authorities also mentioned that they were interested in speaking with former military service members who may have seen her at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station between late 1979 and April 1983.''

Investigators have identified two persons of interest in the case: Maritza’s ex-husband, Howard Grimmett, and his current wife, Isabel “Terry” Cruz-Grimmett. They are also seeking additional information from the public that may help solve Maritza’s murder

It appears that most of her family is in Panama, hence the difficulty in advocating for her. I am so glad that she was able to be identified. The process of reporting her missing started in Jan of this year. It’s amazing how quickly her identification then came about.

I hope they can now look into the, oops I mean a likely suspect…
El toro is close to several bases…

2 persons of interest named in OC murder case dating back to 1983

Hearing one of two persons of interest in the murder of her mother is her very own father comes as no surprise for Dawn Hamill. Hamill spoke with Eyewitness News on Thursday, after sheriff's cold case investigators made the announcement.

"I believe he did it. He is an abusive man. He abused me. He abused my half-siblings," Hamill said.

So sad for Dawn, but it's good she finally has some of the truth. And sometimes we do see cases where it's pretty clear a man has murdered his wife decades ago, and he raises their kids, then even once things come to light, they believe in him because he raised them. I'm glad she can see what's in front of her. She's a beautiful lady, I'm sure her mum would be very proud of her.

Investigators are actively investigating Maritza’s homicide and are interested in any details that might help establish how and when Maritza arrived in California. They also are interested in speaking with former military service members who may have seen Maritza at the former El Toro Marine Corps Air Station between late 1979 and April 1983
