Looks liek they have cancelled Balwani's trial dates & all other hearing dates. This is the only thing on the calendar - thru 2/24/22.

SAN JOSE — Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has filed a motion indicating her legal team is looking for problems in the jury that convicted her in an attempt to get her guilty verdicts for fraud thrown out.


The motion, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court here, was written by an appeals specialist on Holmes’ 10-lawyer team, and seeks to keep the original versions of juror questionnaires sealed from public view because “the content of those questionnaires may be the subject of further litigation.”

I instantly thought of Elizabeth Holmes when I read about the massive COVID testing fraud these two low-level scammers pulled, long enough to defraud taxpayers of $100 million:

Set up centers in abandoned offices, do fake tests, give fake results, bill government. Some people who signed up for tests got results before they had even come in for testing.

Holmes would have done a smoother job of this and made off with more money.

Elizabeth Holmes and prosecutors agreed to set her sentencing hearing Sept 12 after Balwani's trial. I've been asked if the 9 month delay is unusual. CAND judges manage 100s+ cases and they set hearings 6 months out, so my answer - "No, not particularly."

Friday, February 4th:
*Pretrial Conference & Motions Hearing (@ 11:30am PT) - CA – for *Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani (53/now 56) (CFO & President of Theranos) indicted & charged (6/14/18) & arraigned (6/15/18) with 9 counts of wire fraud & 2 counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Another count of wire fraud was added in 2020, bringing the total number of felony charges to 12. Plead not guilty. No bond. Faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison & a fine of $2.75 million, plus restitution, & $250K for each individual count of wire fraud & conspiracy.
Defrauding investors out of $700 million in funding for their blood-testing startup Theranos.
Trial was set to begin on 1/18/22 continued to 2/15/22 & was continued due to COVID to 3/11/22. Trial Court will be in session Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays. Trial dates so far: jury selection 3/9 & 3/10, trial on 3/11, 3/15 & 3/16 all @ 9am

It appears that both Holmes and Balwani plead “not guilty” when indicted back in June 2018.
