I just hope justice is served. The girlfriend takes the stand tomorrow!!!

WELCOME here Yippee.

Please tell us how you know this. I, too, like others, have been scouring the internet and news sources, and I've found zilch as in nothing on the recent court room proceedings. Please share?

Uh I wish I could hear what is going on. I wish there were more people reporting on this case. I would love to know what the girlfriend has to say. I knew she was in SD this week for court, but wasn't sure what day they were calling her to the stand. I'm anxious to find out!

Oh, I definitely want to hear what she has to say on the stand under oath.

The girlfriend had his baby and left town with him. Did they ever marry? Are they still "together"?

Sorry, kinda graphic here...this is what I want to know-- didn't Kayla know about the freezer that contained Elizabeth's body for those two years before the body was dumped in the bay at the same time the couple was relocating? MOO, she must have known something.

Prosecutor: Wife was stabbed, kept in freezer 2 years before found in bay

Missing Navy Wife Elizabeth Sullivan Found Dead in San Diego

"Garcia says Matt’s girlfriend moved in about two months after Elizabeth’s disappearance and quickly became a part of the community."

and

"Not only was the body discovered almost two years exactly from her disappearance and close to where she lived, but it was also within days of Elizabeth’s husband, Matt, moving from San Diego to Maryland with his fiancée, Kayla Turner, their new baby and Elizabeth’s two daughters."

@Curious Me - the link to the People link doesn't work for me.... :(

Is that an update of RECENT court proceedings - or before this week's trial goings on?
I would just like to know if it lists any witnesses - I have nothing from day 2 (2/21/20)....

No, sorry Niner, it's an older article I was using to discuss Matthew's replacement woman he had soon after Elizabeth was murdered. Others on here have said she would be a witness, but I don't have any new reports from the courtroom. They said this trial would maybe go on for 3-4 weeks and I guess no reporters have been assigned to cover it that long. Anybody else know anything?

She posted it on her social media page that she was travelling there this week, so I know it's court related, and I'm assuming she has to testify in some capacity.

I am really confused about all of it because she TRULY thinks he's innocent, I am unsure of how though. I am also confused because the police mentioned that a freezer that was at the San Diego house in the beginning was no longer there when they went to notify Matt of Elizabeth's death. So if they knew of that freezer in the first place, wouldn't they have checked it? Or did he put her in a freezer after they initially checked it. I mean where did the freezer go? Surely he couldn't be dumb enough to leave her dead body in his own house in a freezer, but who was providing electricity to this freezer for him? Is there someone else who knows information? I don't know... I mean I know a lot, but I still have so many questions...

Okay - from what I remember. When she was first reported missing - I believe the LE went thru his house and they noticed the freezer was plugged in, but nothing was in it. I could be wrong on "when" LE went & looked around. But I do remember LE said the freezer was plugged in, but nothing was in it.

Sounds like you might know Kayla personally? I can understand why you have a lot of unanswered questions. It would have helped if we could've watched the trial Live.

IMO, this Kayla must know something more, or maybe she just believed everything Matthew told her. She thinks he's innocent? Wow, denial.

LE did a horrible job in the beginning in investigating the missing Elizabeth. They let Matthew get away with it for those years, IMO. She was dead, and LE allowed the public to entertain the idea she was only missing. She wasn't spotted in some park...she was dead. LE missed all that blood evidence and didn't go back to find it for a long time! There was a few news articles mentioning the freezer, in the garage at one time. Matthew must have moved the body back into it after LE left ...maybe he had a storage unit or left it in the garage with stuff piled on it, or perhaps a friend had the freezer. I'm convinced someone else knew. I don't see how Kayla could not know something, but that's just my own opinion.

Wish we could get more info about what's going on in that courtroom.

Just heard News8 report that Closing Arguments should happen next Wednesday, March 11th. I'll look for an article to post for everyone later.

Testimony wrapped up today. Closing Arguments began, and will probably conclude next Wednesday.

Disappointed :( there's no new info about courtroom proceedings in this latest article or the video.

Closing arguments begin in trial of Navy man accused of murdering wife, hiding body

Prosecutors allege Sullivan killed her at the couple's San Diego home, then hid the body somewhere inside -- possibly in a freezer -- until he was compelled to discard her remains because movers arrived Oct. 4, 2016, at the onset of his cross-country move to the East Coast.

Just want to add how sad it is that the news here is full of so many hit and runs and odd traffic accidents lately. Hit and run yesterday-- this young lady was going to turn 22 and was so pretty. She was crossing in the cross walk.

I cannot wait to hear the final verdict and I pray its guilty. There is no way he did not murder her.

Thanks for the "somewhat" update @Curious Me ! I couldn't find anything over here (Europe)....

  • #358
Hopefully we'll get some kind of reporting from the courtroom before Verdict Watch. How I wish we could just watch it Live.

Has Kayla posted any updates to her page?
