GUILTY CA - Ellorah Warner, 3 wks, Santa Clarita, 23 Jan 2015

People who are suspicious because she accompanied Dad to the police station.
I'm curious what they would have wanted her to do differently? :dunno:

However, I'm not ready to declare her innocent either.
If we find out that she knew he was a danger to baby E... I will be the first yelling for her to be charged.

As a mom of 4, this thread about little Ellorah just crushes my heart. I read all the pages and sit firmly on the fence while I wait for an update. I pray the COD shows Ellorah didn't suffer...especially at the hands of her father. I also hope mom is cleared, from what I've seen she looks like a loving new mom learning the ropes from intuition. It's tragic to think the person who should have been helping her in this new chapter of her life probably destroyed it. Someone up thread mentioned the physical pain she must be in, I hope she has support to heal.

I want to know what they talked about before heading to the police station.

Has anyone seen anything about TW being cleared? I very much want to believe she is innocent in this.

I've seen social media / Facebook comments and a posted link to a non-MSM (pay-per-click site that I can't link /cite per TOS). The "writer" - no byline - made the statement that she's not a suspect, but there was nothing to support it, i.e. sourced quote from LE, etc.

AFAIK, no official word from LE or MSM - yet.

I agree. I think, on being confronted with the situation of a missing child, she probably wanted to keep him "on side" by going along with his chain of events, at least until they got to the police station, at which point perhaps she would be able to express any doubts to the officers. At this stage I just feel desperately sad for her, and grandma.

Yes, it would have looked more alarming if the mom had of stayed home, apparently unwilling to speak to police or unconcerned about the situation. It's not like it was a child who walked off and might have returned, so one better stay home, just in csse.

However, I still can't imagine either of them walking to the police station in this situation. I think I would have insisted on finding a darn phone (from a neighbor) and having the police come to me. I would have been screaming my head off, "Call 911!!"

The dynamic in that moment must have been stranger than fiction.

I know it's probably been already discussed, but how far away was the police station?

Yes that's true. Unless it'd be quicker to just run over there.

Good question

was it the sheriff station they went to or am I looking at the wrong station? Backtracking because I know someone linked the distance somewhere back there in the thread.

This story has been updated:

(snip)

Authorities said the newborn's parents came to the Santa Clarita Valley Station Friday at around 9:35 p.m. and told authorities their daughter was missing from their home.

ETA: the

Santa Clarita Sheriff Station intersects with Valencia (see map):

23740 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia, CA 91355

Is this right? a 4.5 mile walk from home to station? https://www.google.com/maps/dir/213...cbcb32!2m2!1d-118.551268!2d34.41557!3e2?hl=en

ETA 1.5 HOUR walk away from their home.

Yes. There's an alternate route that takes 1.8 hours.

Remember the couple that we heard about? Perhaps they picked them up along the way? How did they get ahold of them?

That brings us back to the original issue of access to cell phones and potentially pay phones along the route. The home phone was reported as disconnected. Did he cut the phone line???
If they had VOIP, was the modem destroyed (this is considered a crime - under DV statutes IIRC).

Looks like the FB rumors about drugs were correct. :( I really, really hope he was the only one in that house who used meth.

The baby’s grandmother told KCAL9’s Kristine Lazar Warner allegedly admitted to her that he used methamphetamines the night before Ellorah died.

She said, on the morning of the murder, she heard him allegedly use an unusual and stern tone with the baby girl and then heard a weak, muffled cry coming from the couple’s bedroom.
...
She also said Warner allegedly told her daughter and investigators that Ellorah’s lips turned blue and she suddenly stopped breathing but he was afraid to call 911 because he was high.

Maybe that's what the "talk" was about prior to going to the Sheriff's station. Sounds like mom knew Ellorah was already dead and maybe was trying to get MW over to LE. Horrifying.

I'm not buying the "suddenly stopped breathing" story. At all. :furious:

How ironic. When this case first popped up I was deep into following Owen Collins' case. An adorable little man who was surrounded by Meth and may have died by it at the hands of his "family"

This case seemed at first blush to be so different. A gorgeous 3 week old girl who was adored, doted on and the apple of her daddy's eye.

And now we land here :(

Just another methhead who killed a precious child.

Yep. Seems like more and more child murders are centered around meth use.

I'm also having a problem with parts of this story. The grandmother called 911 because MW was acting erratically.

She said she didn’t think much of it until she says Warner’s behavior allegedly escalated as the day wore on.

She told Lazar, around 5:30 p.m. Friday, she called 911, a few hours before the baby’s parents reported her missing.

She said she had to use her neighbor’s phone as Warner had allegedly dismantled their phone.

http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2015...used-in-infant-death-to-be-arraigned-tuesday/

She said "My thought at the time was – she was just a 3-week-old baby. He couldn’t possibly hurt her” and told the deputies that she didn't think Ellorah was in any danger so the deputies left.

So his behavior scared her enough to call 911 but not enough to be concerned about Ellorah? After hearing him speaking with an unusual and stern tone? After hearing Ellorah's weak, muffled cries from the bedroom?

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone just yet. I'm questioning the dynamics in that house. I can only speak for myself but in that situation damn straight I'd be concerned for the baby's welfare. It's maddening to have so much information missing.

While I think grandma missed a huge red flag I understand that she'll regret her non-action for the rest of her life and so I feel sad for her. I couldn't imagine having that in my head. At the same time I'm struggling to understand how things went down. Hopefully the gaps will get filled in soon.

RIP Ellorah. :tears:

The father from Santa Clarita arrested Saturday on suspicion of murdering his 3-week-old daughter was in and out of jail several times in 2014 as a result of California’s prison realignment program, according to state and local law enforcement records.
...
Following his release from prison he was arrested 3 times in 2014 and sentenced to, “flash incarcerations,” a new system under the AB-109 prison realignment program that places parole violators in custody for a few days to punish them and try to scare them into following laws and parole rules.

So LE showed up and left? Did they speak with Warner at all? SMH.....

I have a feeling someone didn't want Family Services to take the baby on the spot. JMO

According to msm MW had left the house by the time deputies showed up. The grandmother told them she didn't think Ellorah was in any danger so the deputies left. It's not clear if she was aware that when MW left he had Ellorah with him - neighbors reported seeing him leaving the house with a "bundle" but we don't yet have a timeline other than she called 911 around 5:30.
