GUILTY CA - Ellorah Warner, 3 wks, Santa Clarita, 23 Jan 2015

I would think the grandmother's life might have been in danger, too, assuming the death was a homicide.

I agree borndem. As I said earlier, this wasn't a DV / IPV relationship exclusive of Grandmom; she was part of the family unit because they shared a household. I am of the opinion that she was included in the cycle of violence. Thus, she was exposed to the tension and escalation of his anger and mood swings (and violence e.g. the window breaking incident), and also experienced the de-escalation (the honeymoon phase) which likely would have occurred after her daughter and MW had it out behind closed doors (?in the presence of Baby Ellorah as it was only a two BR apartment?).

TW was walking a tightrope. I believe she alluded to it in that cryptic comment that was mentioned on the photo comment thread. She was doing her best to keep the peace. Now we know she was living in her mother's house with a meth addict.

IME, the pending toxicology results will play into whether or not Baby Ellorah was exposed to methamphetamine while MW used. The elephant in the room is who had prior knowledge, and for how long. I firmly believe they were terrified of him. I also think denial played a significant factor.

Until the results are in, we will have to wait to see how the DA will proceed.

:sigh:

I'm so sorry, sweet BabyGirl.

You're right. :(

How would the ME discern the vector?

Toxicology screens on everyone in the home? I'm hoping they included hair testing in Baby Ellorah, just to be thorough. :moo:

This would prove direct vs. second hand exposure - right (for everyone other than MW)?

If anyone tested positive, it would also prove prior knowledge of his drug use though. Ugh....

I hate this.

Please let her toxicology screens be negative!

:please:

I would hope that the mom was not doing drugs. But as I have read on this site over time, I should not be surprised if either or both parents are doing drugs.

While I don't think the mom was involved in the baby's death, I certainly think that misjudgment is the rule rather than the exception. Mom and grandma both did not seem to pick up on some clues-- broken window, cut phone lines-- that make me think some decisions made by them put the baby at risk.

I get that. I have read the number of different threads on dead young children to be surprised by anything.

While I get what you're saying, let's stick to some of the known facts. TW hasn't bern accused of being anything other than a grieving mother who lost her first born daughter just 19 days into her precious life. MW, has a long history of substance abuse and incarceration going back to at least 2013. If you look at his FB posts and the comments in them you'll see as recently as dec. 2014 he said that he signed up for "outpatient". Back in 2013 he was in jail for a good amount of time shortly after he posted that he got a raise and a promotion. He sounds like he's been in and out of rehab and jail for at least 2 or 3 years. There's no indication (yet) that TW did anything other than support him and have a child by him.

It's was reported earlier that the GM did not get along with MW. Given the normal stress of a newborn, I can see them keeping clear of one another if for no other reason than to just reduce the tension. So while TW was at work, GM may have just left MW alone to give them some space. Again from FB posts, TW and others commented about how much MW loved Ellora saying "you can see it in his smile". It sounds like TW, GM and others couldn't conceive of MW doing harm to Ellora even with his addiction/abuse issues. All the commenters on FB say that, before last week, he cared deeply about Ellora, and thought that he may have finally changed for the better.

That being said, even if GM suspected that MW was high and caring for baby, then she would need LE to arrest MW. It sounds like that's why she called 911. While she was looking for a working phone, he jetted out if the house with the baby (deceased). When he finally came back, by which time TW was home either by schedule or because GM called her. MW probably convinced TW that her mom hated him anyway and then sold her the disappearance story. Remember, this is a mother who comes home and her newborn baby is now missing. If I were her, I wouldn't give a crap about a fight between my mother and boyfriend but would be focused on finding the baby no matter what. I can see TW going along with MW's story because she has no choice. GM didn't see the baby all day and TW left the baby with her loving and caring father (at least in her mind). Thus they went to the police together. A few hours later, when MW sobers up and TW has time to question his story and talk to her mother, the truth comes out.

Bottom line is that a beautiful little baby girl is dead, a mother is crushed and devastated and families and friends are heartbroken. Whatever happened in that room, the responsibility of Ellora's death lies solely at the feet of MW. He was her father. He was supposed to love, care for and protect her. She died (a presumably unnatural death) on his watch. Ultimately, he failed as a human being and Ellora paid the price.

I.Can't.EVEN.

Monster. Monster.

  • #373
I was so very much hoping that this was an accident and the parents panicked. MONSTER is right. Horrid.

  • #374
I was hoping it was an accident too. That poor baby.

  • #375
OMG no. NO!

I knew from the murder charge she didn't die by accident, but this? How the hell does one sexually assault a 19 day old baby? That is so far beyond disgusting I can't even fathom it.

No! NO!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!

You  :censored: actually went there!

There is NOTHING worse than this!

How could he?

She was his own flesh and blood, and he hurt her in the worst possible way. My heart feels like it's being pulled out of my chest right now, KNOWING how much this tiny little baby suffered before she was murdered - because he CHOSE to do these horrible things to her.

Her weak little cries for help as she took her last breaths, and no one came to her rescue!

:overreaction:

My faith in humanity, in God Himself, has abandoned me in this very moment. I know Baby Ellorah is in a better place, but dam*it, she should NEVER have had to suffer such brutality at her own so-called "father's" hands in order to gain her Angel Wings.

MW, may you suffer every single day of your disgusting excuse for a life. I hope you are haunted by what you've done. You deserve only maximum justice. May it be swift.

She did NOT deserve this! UGH!

(snip)

Warner’s arraignment was slated for Tuesday but was postponed until Feb. 18. Wearing a yellow jail jumpsuit, Warner did appear in San Fernando Superior Court Tuesday.

His bail was set at $2.25 million.

The image at link above is bone-chilling. That truly is the face of a cold-blooded murderer - :moo:

I hope the community response to this evening's vigil is strong. The victim should be remembered - her suffering, her pain, her profound loss are resonating so deeply with me right now, I'm literally shaking.

.....and the angels wept.....

I thought I was ready for anything. This is not the first nor will it be the last infant who dies after such heinous assault. But for some reason, right now, this moment. I cannot do this.

Stepping away form this thread. May be back. May not.

Tears prevent anything else right now.

From this story: "Warner was charged with murder, assault on a child causing death, torture, oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger, and aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office."

I literally just vomited after reading this. I think it's beyond horrifying and disgusting to do any of this to a 10 year old either, but a less than 3 week old baby? Please tell me the law allows for some extra harsh punishment for this (if not, I imagine his prison-mates will).

Poor Ellorah. I had hoped she didn't suffer, that it was quick. Knowing she suffered is making it 1000x worse. Her poor Mom and G'ma.
