But... When googling Court and Tehama Streets, Redding, CA...

I find the courthouse...

Interesting MG chose to steal gun, money, and phone so close to a court house...

Does his mom (or a relative) live in a residence at this corner, too?

But I found the reporting puzzling...

IIRC... It sounded like MG may have been at the hospital during the conflict...

But was no longer there when the LE arrived and requested a lockdown...

All... JMO...

His lawyer's (public defender) office is about a block from there too (Yuba St.), but I can't imagine that they would have been there on a Saturday.

I googled hotels located on Court and Tehoma Streets, there appear to be several located near there but none directly on the corner. I suspect MG was at his moms hotel room when the items were taken. Just my opinion.

If they have no more solid leads, and all the ones they did have panned out, then where should they search next?

I don't know if dogs were ever brought in to search the trailer or surrounding area.

The sad fact is that Ember was a very tiny human being. If she was left to the elements anywhere, in even a shallow grave, prey and scavenger animals would have gotten to her remains by now. It's not like it's right before winter snows, where some evidence might be preserved until Spring.

I'm so sorry to type that, Baby Ember. If justice never comes for you, I hope you at least know peace, little one.

Sadly, we are also going through this with my 35 year old brother right now. His addictions have hurt everyone in his path. He was once such a smart, hardworking, loyal and sweet guy. Now, he is an unstable, unreliable, and volatile mess. His wife and 2 kids (6 & 8 yrs old) have been living with my mom since the oldest was born. My mom is the biggest enabler I've ever seen. I know she means well, but she continues to live in denial about how much this is hurting our family. It's hard for me to go to visit my mom bc I don't want to expose my daughter to the energy and vibes there. Even though my brother is upstairs locked in his room wasted most of the time...you can still feel something is off. Just a constant dark cloud. He will not change unless my mom puts her foot down, and makes him take responsibility for his actions. However, she argues that she wants them to live with her for the sake of the children. She is so scared of their well-being. Such a sad cycle. Addiction plagues so many of us...one way or another. Cubby's post was amazing- and it really hit home for me. Especially the part about ADDICTION, ENABLING, and DENIAL being so dangerous.

She has been supporting them since my oldest nephew was born 8 years ago!!! My brother, His wife, and 2 kids live with her. In fact, my brother has always had it easy because he has always worked for my mom's construction company. My sister-in-law (who is not an addict, but is definitely an unstable and insecure mess) doesn't work! I know- it's a mess!! My mom is so desperate, and has been begging for help to figure out a solution... after all these years!

ETA- I guess I'm saying all this, bc my brother's life could have easily paralleled
what became of MG's, if it wasn't for my mom covering his a*s. But enabling is not the answer no matter what, and it comes at a heavy price!

I wish you could get through to her, that in her own way she is helping him die. It's so hard and as a mom I know. I, too, have two grandkids from my son and his ex. As a mom we think we are helping them and if we just give them time and show we care they'll be able to pull out of this. They usually don't. We have a relationship with the ex DIL so we do get to have a relationship with our grandsons. What brought me out of my denial was the continual emotional and physical abuse toward my oldest grandson when he was with his dad. I turned him into DFS so many times for the last 7 years. Yes, even before I quit coddling and enabling I didn't like my son much anymore (it's possible to love someone but not like them) because this grandson is one of the greatest gifts I have ever been blessed with. He is very intelligent, kind, compassionate and so loving. DFS never felt that there was enough to do anything. My son grew up with this same treatment from his bio dad so he knows better. Before he had kids he would tell me that he knows what to do because of that treatment to be a better dad.
I do understand your mom's position, though. At any time she could lose your brother. She could also lose her two grandsons. Devastating to think about. I prayed a lot and had a good support system. I hope she opens her eyes and her mind to know she isn't helping him at all. It's hard but I do hope one of you turn him in anonymously even. Just please save his children. They are worth it.

Cannabis wouldn't have killed Ember. Even if it's in the form of wax. Cannabanoids don't act in the same way as opiates. They latch on to a different receptor and that receptor doesn't affect respiration or heart activity. To overdose potentially on cannabis, you need to overdose by 40,000 times the acceptable amount. Cannabanoids are proven to have medicinal values. In fact there are children who are being treated for seizures with cannabis oil prescribed by physicians.

Even if the marijuana was laced with something else?

There is something YOU can do and that is contact CPS. They will force the parents to clean up and can also force them to move out and leave the kids with your mother. There are millions of grandparents, aunts, uncles raising grandkids these days because the parents can't or won't do it because of drug addiction.

I agree, KindredSpirits. It's hard but it has to be done. If DFS does nothing shame on them. I have seen a lot and don't have much faith in them but seriously they can't help if they don't know there is a need.
Do you have a trusted friend that can turn them in anonymously? I know it's hard for family and I just think if you confide in someone and let them know you want them turned in it will keep the blood partially off your hands so to speak and you can say without lying that you didn't turn them in. So sorry you're in a tough spot. You can pm me anytime and I'll be here for you. I'm not a professional counselor but I can give you a shoulder and support.

There was some "confusion" by family and they reported he was in there with a gun, the building was cleared and it was changed to he was on his way there, and then changed to might be on his way there. There was a statement, from the Sheriff I believe, that he was never there.

Kropholler said he did not know whether the ice chest belonged to Matthew Graham, but so far there is no evidence that it is related to the case. He also noted that no cadaver dogs from the Sheriff’s Office hit the ice chest.

Nor Cal Alliance for the Missing will resume private searches on Saturday with professional searchers only.
