Stay safe Shasta! They must be terrified, a criminal on the run with a gun and nothing to lose.

"The search for evidence in Ono will continue Sunday, Bosenko said."

sbm - I was curious about the town of Ono, since I am on the exact opposite side of the USA and have never been there. Here is what I just read about it which I think might be helpful in this search - "Ono’s center is on SR A16 (aka Platina Road), the village’s only access to the rest of the world"
source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ono,_California

Does anyone local know whether there might be anything with a camera anywhere on this one and only road, between the Happy Stop and where the pacifier was found?

Is there a case map showing both that can be brought forward from previous pages, that I may have missed?

Thanks.
ETA - here's a map I just made quick from Happy Stop to town of Ono. Don't know where the pacifier was found.

I really thought they would nab him overnight. I cannot believe they were so close and did not catch him. Maybe the sightings were wrong and they are not as close to him as they think?

OT , hate to derail a thread but since baby Elaina Steinfurth has been brought up so many times in this case, anyone who followed hers should have a look at her thread. Very sad news over there.

I have no idea how to find her thread because she's not missing anymore. Can you link it please? I am in the "Located" forum but don't see a thread there and don't know where else to look.

ETA - OMG, we lost a WS member, Elaina's dear grandmother who worked so closely with us all along. RIP ferretmommy.

(ETA again - wow that thread is old, 2013.. I probably have hundreds of posts in it. Time flies..)

I just woke up and have missed the overnight goings-on, but apparently he's still on the run?

Has there been any thought as to why he (apparently) reacted to the finding of the pacifier? Personally, I believe that he did something to the baby, but in the (very) remote chance that he -didn't- and the baby -was- taken, what if he knows and has suspected someone who lives in that area, and instead of being on the run he is actually looking for them?

This thought crossed my mind, too. If someone really did take her I'm guessing it was someone he knows, and it was over perhaps jealousy, a drug deal, or otherwise someone he's got a 'beef' with. Since he took money along with the gun I don't think Plan A was/is to kill himself. I think he's either trying to find her and get her back, or he's running. Running seems far more likely to me... but I have that teeny tiny glimmer of hope that just maybe he's looking for his girl 'vigilante style' IF he didn't do anything to her, accidentally or intentionally.

My thought on why he may have reacted that way to the pacifier is that there must be some undeniable link between him and Ember and the cause of death on that pacifier. Otherwise he could've just said "well, great! now we know where the kidnapper took her! look harder for her!"

Excellent map, thanks! I can't get the hang of new google maps. I liked classic but hate the new one. I noticed the other day that bing seems to be similar to classic google though so I may just switch to using that.

Thanks again!

I despise new Google maps. I'll check out Bing. Thanks!

Good morning! So no real news since midnight, glad I didn't stay up later madly refreshing the pages. Thanks to those that posted updated articles with summaries of the events so far.

The part about a disturbance at the hospital has me confused. Do we know why the family was at the hospital?

As mountaingazer said "Stay safe Shasta". Ember, her family, friends and the whole community are in my thoughts and prayers.

That's a good question. I don't know why they were at the hospital, I've only speculated in my own head. I found it interesting that the awesome google map just posted shows clearly that the sightings of Matthew that were posted in MSM last night are very near to that hospital however, while nothing else related to the case is anywhere near those MSM-reported sightings.

From your link -

"According to a SHASCOM alert at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, Graham stole a gun and cash about 1:15 p.m. after learning new information about his daughter’s disappearance.

The new information was that a pacifier resembling Ember’s was found in the Ono area Friday, which brought the search there, Bosenko said.

A family member may have told him, Bosenko said.

Deputies had spoken with Ember’s mom about the new clue.
They were in contact with Graham and said they wanted to speak with him further, Bosenko said. They also spoke with Graham’s mother about the new info. Shortly thereafter, Graham’s mother called and reported her gun, cell phone and cash stolen and Graham missing.

The pacifier will be put through DNA testing.

According to a Facebook post in the group “Find Baby Ember,” Ember’s mother is safe.

Detectives suspect Graham may have been in the downtown Redding area or near Caldwell Park, Benton Drive or the Sacramento River Trail, Bosenko said."

BBM. ugh.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean if it is hers, the pacifier is practically guaranteed to have Ember's DNA and his on it. Probably her mom's, too. The only thing I can see the pacifier doing is helping them see if anyone ELSE'S DNA is on it, which I would think would be a good thing for Matthew. Unless as you said there's something on it that could lead to a cause of death. I can't imagine what they could possibly find along those lines, but maybe something.

I've seen folks being critical of whoever (in the family) may have told MG about the pacifier being found. If that info was shared with them and they weren't specifically asked to keep it from him, I don't see why they wouldn't tell him about it. Given that they had been supporting him and trusting in his version of events, I'm guessing they'd have told him to prepare him for some further dreadful news perhaps.
I've also wondered if he reacted to the info about where the pacifier was found, and jumped to conclusions about who may be responsible and took off to take matters into his own hands - on the off chance that he isn't responsible for whatever happened to Ember himself.
If even some of the rumored sightings of MG have been true, then he sure hasn't done a very good job of being on the run from the law. Surely he'd be trying to get out of Shasta county - not hanging about waiting for the inevitable? I'm thinking that guilty or not, he has had some sort of breakdown.

No link, no post.

Rumors? Forget it. How dare you? Most of you know better than that!

If this is in reply to the picture I posted of the park and asking if anyone was familiar with the area because MG said they took Ember there....that picture and post is posted publically on his FB page . I was asking because perhaps it's a spot that was special to them. I didn't think I would be allowed to put the link on here since its SM so I only posted the picture. Sorry if I offended - I didn't think a past FB post by the person himself was rumor.

Would a mother give her son cash, a gun, and a cell phone and tell him to run? It wouldn't make sense for her to do that and then immediately report it but maybe she knew. Maybe she was there.

I personally think if LE didn't want the info to get to him they wouldn't have shared it with anyone especially his Mom. They have been sharing a lot of info in this case. The article posted above states the info was shared with JG and his Mom so I assume ....and this is pure speculation that he got word from one of them.

This article stated the pacifier is being tested for DNA so hopefully they will have confirmation . Maybe it's not hers and they wanted to just see the reaction.
