Based on your experience and expertise, and pairing it with the specifics of this particular case, what do you think the outcome will be? In other words, who did what?
I can't say my opinion is due to legal expertise, with the exception of how guilty versus innocent defendants act and how most people talk, cooperate and if guilty, easily incriminate themselves. IME, while even guilty people talk and cooperate, virtually only innocent people clam up.
Other than that I base my opinion on following these cases for years. And many of the veteran sleuthers have much more experience than I! But for me, the minute I heard about the missing hour I felt it was intentional.
I think the dude took her out somewhere, killed her and dumped her body and then came home and pretended to find her missing the next morning. I think she was alive at the store and not with him when he drove past it an hour later. That's why I don't think it was a neglect situation.
His lack of "remorse", as the media quoted (which I took to mean lack of concern or guilt that she disappeared on his watch), as well as the fact that he referred to her as "it", also point me away from a death from simple neglect. If he got too high and forgot her meds or left her accidentally in a car or whatever, he would show more concern and sorrow. Especially given his age.
I don't think his wife is involved at all. She is quite young and apparently in love. And (this part is from my job), it can take a long time for even an older woman to accept the failings of her man. But the younger the woman, the harder it is for her to accept he is a creep. It takes a lot for some to walk away from an abuser or to even accept that their man has abused their child.
Could cannabis oil kill a 7 mos old? I know there are lots of people using it to treat seizures in kids, so I can totally see a dad who is already familiar with the product trying it, but is it really possible that an accidental death would occur?
The cannabis used to treat kids and others with seizure disorder does not have THC and does not get you high. I've never heard of death from regular cannabis overdose to begin with.
I am not sure if she is still standing by him. He is worried and something about the investigation spooked him. Whether it be the pacifier or the location of the search. What I find even stranger is that it has been 10 days, the child was reported missing and still no active amber alert has been issued. Thats pretty bizarre in itself.
This case doesn't fit the criteria for an amber alert.
Agreed. And call it tunnel vision but the only way I see MG's decision to run is that he realized that LE was in the right area and if/when they located Ember they'd be knocking on his door.
Of all possible scenarios that one fits the best. At the vigil he looked like he was ready to pop. LE had discontinued the search but the local community vowed to keep going. MG's family and supporters were heavily criticizing LE for not being thorough enough and LE responded by impounding his truck. He knew that the investigation would go on until Ember was found.
LE naming him a POI and releasing details of the interview put tremendous pressure on him. He chose to dummy up and hope that LE would never find Ember. Then LE got a new lead that took them to the area by Gas Point Road and finally to Ono. IMO that's when he knew things were about to fall apart.
LE finding a pacifier only "similar" to one Ember had caused him to run. Why? Because he's guilty. He didn't steal the cash and the gun in order to hunt down some fantasy kidnapper in Ono, he freaked because he knew the pacifier was Ember's.

Great post.
Maybe he took her cell phone to delay her alerting LE by a few minutes, so he could get a head start. Or, maybe he had been exchanging texts with his mom and wanted to get rid of the evidence. (Silly, but maybe not if he wrote something that admitted he was guilty.)
What was the mom doing walking around with a semi-automatic weapon in her purse?
Maybe he knew LE was tracking his own cell?
This may not be true but I thought for sure on one reporter's tweets yesterday it said the cell phone had been turned off and not pinging again. Did anyone see that and/ or save the link? TIA ( maybe it was a rumor )
I did see that.
What the heck was her job? years on the job? back in Fla? full name? Surely then she wouldn't have been a part of a crazy fight in Mercy Hosp. - super tacky to fight in a hospital - shows zero regard for anyone but me me me (whoever the people were...)

CELL PHONES - My understanding is to know no one can track you, you have to take out the battery........
So if it's turned off it can still ping?
