CA - Emma Barker, 18 mos, suffocated, Lancaster, 18 March 2009 #1

It is hard to understand why nothing is being said about this mother and her dead little girl. Look how upset we all are about this little girl and we don't live around her or know her family. People should be demanding that something be done. You can't just throw a little girl away like trash and not get in trouble. Why isn't this mother in jail? It's a shame that people don't seem to care about this little girl and what happened to her.

I still want to know what kind of an accident took this baby's life???? I just don't believe it was an accident. If she had drown the ME would have been able to tell by her lungs. If she was hit by a car it would show. What other kind of accidents are there? Maybe she got into some household cleaner or something like that and it won't show until the lab testing comes back. Meds?

This area combined is most commonly known as The Antelope Valley. It is part of Los Angeles County. I noticed on the D.A.'s site that this area is referred to as The Antelope Valley. As both residents of this area, we know it pretty well (at lest I do- not too hard on SFV streets- all run paralel/horizontal). My hubby is from Lancaster and it is set up differently (street wide) and is more rural and spread out. I called the West Valley and Devonshire division of the LAPD- all neighborhoods have precincts (like back east). I called again today and still "no comment".

Maybe you are onto something Tammie- Maybe Antelope Valley (ran by Sherrif's Dept, IIRC) is who will charge her?

I am in the Bay Area today with my mom getting chemo (Thank God for SouthWest Air) and wont be able to call until Friday- I encourage any of you to make that call and see what you get- Its always nerve-wracking the first time, then it gets easier :crazy: Good luck WS'ers~~:blowkiss:

Okay, I just sent my last email, it is to Nancy Grace. Here is what I said:

I would like to request that you look into the case of Emma Leigh Barker. She is the toddler in CA that was dumped on the side of the road by her mother, Stecey Barker, age 21.

The mother originally claims that someone knocked her out and took her daughter. She went so far as to cause injury to her head and partially disrobe. She eventually fessed up and said that she panicked because Emma died as a result of an 'accident' and she feared she would be blamed. The autopsy showed no obvious signs of trauma and they are waiting for other test results to come back. In the meantime, this woman is free and has not been charged with anything! On top of that, any inquiries made to LE are met with 'no comment'.

For the life of me I cannot understand why this case hasn't received more coverage. I can't find any updates and I am more than frustrated! I cannot think of any accident involving one of my children that would justify dumping their body on the side of the road like trash and lying to LE.

Please, please, try to find out some information. This case has broken my heart. She was a beautiful, happy child and should not have been dumped like trash. This case reminds me of Caylee. Young mom, living at home, grandfather working during the day and grandmother working at night so Emma didn't have to go to daycare, mother says child was kidnapped, child later found dumped on the side of the road!

I appreciate any coverage you can give this.

I re-read your email this morning and while I appreciate you taking the time to respond, I am actually left with more questions than answers.

I realize that the tests take some time, but I am more perplexed by why there isn't more media coverage of this case. What exactly deems a news story worthy of coverage? I just find it odd that with some of the similarities to the Caylee Anthony case, that this case has not been reported on more. Wish I could address the issue as well as you have done. At least you are getting response! Even though the response was brief and vague it left me feeling as if they haven't forgot little Emma. Sounds as if the reporter is still on it just waiting on results.
I wrote a few weeks ago to Nancy Grace also and included links to news info but never heard back. I should write again maybe the squeak wheel will get the grease.

I have drove down the block where Stacy lives off and on... nothing really to report but did find it strange that parking enforcement the last two times was going into the subdivision the same time as I and we both took the same route in and and straight out ... they never stopped for anything just drove through like I was doing..

I am also going to try to get by Emma's grave this weekend and I plan on leaving a Easter Bunny from all of us.
