Rancho Cordova police ask public to help find missing woman | The Sacramento Bee (sacbee.com)
Her parents, CR and GR, created a Gofundme account to raise money to hire a private investigator. The parents, who live in Rancho Cordova, said their daughter was last seen walking to the American River off of Coloma Road. She had her phone, but she did not have her wallet, identification or any extra clothes.

“She is at risk with high functioning autism and her family has been doing everything they can to find her,” her parents said on the Gofundme page. “We are devoting every hour to finding our Emma.”

Sacramento autism experts share their thoughts on the Emma Roark | abc10.com
Dave Gains, the CEO of the nonprofit Sacramento Autistic Spectrum and Special Needs Alliance explained how autistic people perceive their surroundings differently.

“Obviously there’s a risk there. There’s the kind of lack of understanding of the kind of dangers that can be present with other people and in social situations,” said Gains.

He added how they can see others varies.

“They can be naïve. They’ll go with anyone for example, and this is not all people on the spectrum but a lot of autistic people. They tend to be very trusting because they’re not thinking about danger signs. They’re very transparent and raw and honest and, ‘Hey, this is a person and Hey, you want me to go in your car with you? Okay, where are we going?'” explained Gains.

Did they not find her phone? What's with that one photo of her that looks like a cell phone snap of inkjet printouts taped together? Feels like she was active on social media that her family doesn't know about.

I wonder if he was just a wandering transient, who really should have been in some kind of treatment program----and he happened upon this poor girl who was on a nature walk?
