CA CA - Emmanuel Haro, 7-months, reported kidnapped 7:30pm from Big 5 parking lot, Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, 14 Aug 2025 *Arrest* #3

  • #741

The Riverside County District Attorney recently blasted a local judge for failing to lock up a man before he was arrested on suspicion of killing his 7-month-old son, but court records show the DA’s office also acquiesced to him walking free even after he allegedly violated his probation in a prior child abuse case.

*****
But it wasn’t long before Jake Haro was accused of new crimes, including probation violations in July 2024 and a related case where he was charged with being a “convicted felon and narcotic addict” in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

In the new cases, the DA’s office didn’t oppose Jake Haro remaining free on $60,000 bail.

*****
At least three times prior to August 2025, when Jake Haro allegedly murdered baby Emmanuel, the DA’s office appeared in court on the new cases but didn’t oppose requests by the defense attorney to continue the matter while Jake Haro remained out of custody.

*****
According to transcripts reviewed by the Long Beach Post, during the most recent hearing, on July 2, 2025, Jake Haro appeared before a Riverside County Superior Court judge along with an attorney who announced: “Mr. Haro is present here to my right, out of custody.”

Deputy DA Connor Rathbun told the court that “Mr. Haro’s counsel of record is currently engaged in a child custody matter, and he’s asking to come back September 2nd. I have no opposition to that.”

Just a few weeks later, authorities allege, Jake Haro murdered his son.

If only the Judge could have seen the future.
With all the facts he knew, and all the information that was available to him that he must have been familiar with, and being an actual longtime judge with a good reputation, and considering that judges are expected and usually known to be SMART and sensible and logical, I do not see how he could not have foreseen the likelihood for catastrophe, i.e., that JH would inevitably go on to harm other children in his care in the future if not locked up. imo.

Yeah it actually made me wonder if one of them realised they had dropped something so they faked a reason to go back and look for it. But more likely they just realised there was an opportunity to do some more 'acting'. I think for people like this part of the appeal of their crime is the (delusional) feeling that they are 'duping' the public and the media. They think they are smarter than everyone else.

I also thought it was interesting during the interview where the dad is holding the daughter, that the daughter doesn't look distressed at all by his mood. IMO little kids are quite good at picking up on emotions, and for her there was nothing alarming about Daddy's demeanour, even though he should really have been in the most heightened state of stress she had ever witnessed. For reasons we are all suspecting, either she has seen Daddy in far more alarming states than this, and/or his actual emotions weren't legitimately heightened enough to upset/alarm a young child.
Glad you’re saying that. I kept thinking there was something about the way she kind of had a little bit of a smile and was wiggling around in his arms….was of note, I thought.

I thought the same thing about the interview with Jake holding the 2 yr old. The looks she is throwing seem odd ,for what should have been to frantic parents . Like she knows he is lying and she thinks it is amusing or something. IDK she is 2 and beautiful so her smile was precious no matter what. But she definitely knew they were lying .
Yessss! 100% agree

I think he was using his daughter as a prop, to take the focus off just him and also to say look at me, I'm a loving hands-on father. She seems older than two to look at, perhaps nearer her 3rd birthday? She was big enough not to need holding in arms like a baby, and I'm sure grandparents were there to hold her hand and make sure she didn't wander off.

We understand how deeply the community and the media care about Baby Emmanuel and are eager for information about this case. We share your desire for justice and your desire for transparency.

However, there has been a significant amount of misinformation circulating in the media and on social media, which can be confusing and frustrating for everyone.

Please know that we are committed to providing accurate information. Also, please understand that we are bound by legal and ethical responsibilities that prevent us from sharing detailed case information publicly.

Honestly it's infuriating the utter circus that's going on. I won't say names as I'm sure it's not allowed here but that one fool who's screeching out at every opportunity whilst wearing merch they've had made for this case - merch about a missing and deceased baby - my lord I just can't even. It's times like these that I absolutely hate social media. These literal idiots refuse to see how their grifting and attention seeking actions have the ability to help a criminals defense and hinder active investigations by LE. I wish there were some restrictions and laws put in place to stop these people with a half a brain cell and a phone from playing <modsnip> Columbo on the internet and spreading false and harmful information.

As time goes on, I am becoming more and more unsure that little Emmanuel will be found 😔 If they have discarded him in the rubbish when they believe they did and that bin has gone to the landfill, it will be neigh on impossible for them to recover him. I know that they don't need a body for convictions but the thought of that little boys earthly body being out there all alone is just horrendous 😔

😅

PS: I use an emoji, one of the special ones, for the last time today. I don't know, who gifted a membership as a GUARDIAN to me for this last month August, but I want to say "THANK YOU" again to the lovely spender! 🩷

He didn’t need a crystal ball, as most offenders go back to their old habits; JH must have feel invincible: he fooled an (allegedly) educated man and got away with an horrific crime
Exactly, once a monster always a monster. He should have been locked up a long time ago.

I just wanted to give a little insight on cerebral palsy since it is being brought up. My son has cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is basically a movement disability that appears as a result of an injury on a developing brain, which can happen for various reasons during pregnancy, at birth or shortly after birth. There has to be some kind of brain injury in order for CP to develop. It is well within the realm of possibility that one or both of these two inflicted some damage on his brain and CP resulted.

There are a multitude of ways that CP can present itself. Some with CP can be completely non-verbal with no ability for independent movement. Some have only mild effects and you would have to be looking for something off to notice. We are very lucky that my son’s CP is mild, and only affects his left leg and arm (they have a lot of tone so it’s a bit harder for him to walk and turn his arm). It does not affect him cognitively at all, even though there technically is an injury to the brain (as a matter of fact, he’s in the talented and gifted program at school!)

We do not know what caused my son’s brain injury (though it is suspected it developed because I had preeclampsia). Everything was normal after he was born, but at about 4 or 5 months, I noticed that something was going on - he wasn’t bringing his feet to his mouth to eat his toes like most adorable babies do. However, no one around me noticed anything different about him at all, even when I pointed out more and more things, until we finally got the diagnosis after an MRI at 13 months old.

IMO, the way Emmanuel holds his arms, and especially his fists, are very similar in a way to how my son holds his. In an even more pronounced way actually.

“Cerebral palsy (CP) is a brain disorder that appears in infancy or early childhood and permanently affects body movement and muscle coordination. Cerebral palsy is caused by changes in the developing brain that disrupt its ability to control movement and maintain posture and balance. The term cerebral refers to the brain. Palsy refers to problems with movement.”

I knew a high school Ag Teacher with cerebral palsy- he earned a degree in Ag Education, and guides kids through FFA competitions.
There is a huge range of impacts caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain during birth or shortly after birth. It must be similar to a stroke.
This Ag Teacher had difficulty walking and talking, you could tell he was disabled. I knew him when he was young, he has become a wonderful teacher.<modsnip: Removed name of individual not related to this case.>

Thank you for posting this.

A huge thank you to reporter " Doug Kari, special to the Long Beach Post" for doing the investigative work on this case that has been sorely missing from the get-go.

Steve Fischer @ SF_ investigates is the only one who contacted DA Hestrin about JH's suspended sentence in 2023 and DA Hestrin passed the buck then and passed it again during his presser.

Case Timeline of Events

Aug. 14

At approximately 7:47 p.m. on Aug. 14, a 7-month-old child, identified as Emmanuel Haro, was reported missing after the child's mother, Rebecca Haro, "reported being attacked outside a retail store on Yucaipa Boulevard," the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

She told officials that "while she stood outside her vehicle, changing the chid's diaper, she was physically assaulted by an unknown male and rendered unconscious," the sheriff's department said.

When she woke up, the child was gone, the mother told officials.

Once on the scene, scent-tracking dogs were deployed, but the 7-month-old "was not located," officials said.

Baby Emmanuel Haro likely died from abuse by his parents before they made a false report that he was abducted, authorities said.
Officials said this is an active investigation, no suspect information is available and they are "seeking the public's help in locating the child."

"He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie, he weighs 21 pounds, is approximately 24 inches tall, has brown hair, brown eyes and is cross-eyed," the sheriff's department said in their initial statement on the child's disappearance.

Aug. 15

The next day, authorities released another statement saying they were "continuing their search for the 7-month-old baby boy who was reportedly kidnapped last night in Yucaipa."

The sheriff's department said the baby "had not been found" and the investigators will "continue to work on this case to locate the child."

The same day, Rebecca and Jake Haro spoke to Los Angeles ABC station KABC about Emmanuel's disappearance. Rebecca Haro described her son as a "happy boy" and begged whoever had her son to "give him back to me."

"Please don't hurt my son," Rebecca Haro told KABC.

"Whoever took our son, please bring him back," Jake Haro told KABC during the same interview.

I sure have. Lots of kids have parents who indulge and fail to parent them out of inability, laziness, and past trauma, but then have a breaking point that causes them to respond with anger and sometimes violence when the kid crosses it.

-elementary school teacher
I've seen this too. The indulging can be born out of guilt as well.

Where are you, baby Emmanuel?

Please show us.

I hope your little soul is at peace now.

I worry that the more time passes, the less likely it becomes that Emmanuel will be found. JMO.

Yes indeedy, appears Jake will not skate out of his probation violation hearing tomorrow.

"We'll be in court Tuesday and again Thursday, and we're pushing for updates on the search plan."

This is my great fear.

A minuscule little body like Emmanuel, perhaps out there in or under the desert sands, where temperatures this summer were in the triple digits——what could be left but his diminutive bones?

Which could be scattered anywhere by animals.

That’s why earlier I posted that I hope he was in some kind of pajamas, clothing or a diaper, because IMO that may be the only clue that remains in place.

Or of course if these heinous “parents” tell the truth, at least there may be some hope of finding any trace him and giving him the love and respect he didn’t receive in life.

I don't think these two parents are capable of telling the truth.

Update from KESQ. Jake's court date tomorrow has been vacated and reassigned to Sept 4, so court only Thursday this week.
