*Pretrial Conference Hearing (@ 8:30am PT) – CA - Emmanuel Haro (7 mos. old) reported kidnapped by mother on Aug. 14, 2025. He was last seen on Aug. 5, 2025 in Yucaipa. Still missing. *Rebecca Renee Haro (41) "mother" arrested (8/22/25), charged (8/26/25) & arraigned (9/4/25) with 1st degree murder & filing a false police report. Plead not guilty [9/4/25]. Held without bond. Bond set (8/26/25) at $1M CASH only. Riverside County

10/16/25 Update: Jake Haro pleaded guilty to all charges, which include second-degree homicide, filing a false police report & assault of a child under 8; great bodily injury resulting in death. The Riverside County DA's office noted that the plea was made straight to the judge, without negotiations between the defense & prosecution. Jake Haro faces a potential sentence of 25 years to life in prison. He is set to be sentenced on 11/3/25 @ 8:30am. Rebecca Haro, did not plead guilty; the case against her will continue. She is also charged with Emmanuel's murder, along with filing a false police report & other charges. Next for Rebecca pretrial conference hearing on 10/28/25 @ 8:30am & a preliminary hearing on 11/3/25.
10/28/25 Update: Tuesday’s hearing was scheduled as a felony settlement conference; however, proceedings were rescheduled for 1/21/26. If Rebecca maintains her not-guilty plea, her case will proceed to a preliminary hearing.
*Jake Mitchell Haro (32) "father" Sentencing on 11/3/25 to 25 years to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to the baby's murder. He was also sentenced to over six years in prison for other offenses, to run consecutively. He is ineligible for probation because he was already on probation for severely abusing another child, the judge said while handing down the sentence on Monday. His sentence also included more than $20,000 in fines & court fees.

Rebecca Haro appeared in court looking exhausted and haggard as she faced charges of helping her husband Jake torture their infant son Emmanuel to death and then fabricate a kidnapping story to cover up the horrifying crime.

The accused baby-killer had bags under her eyes and an expression of despair as lawyers discussed the details of her impending trial in Riverside County court Wednesday.

No trial date has been set, but another hearing was scheduled for March 26.

Ugh, sorry for asking, but can someone refresh me if there was ever a search for Emmanuel after finding out they threw him into a trash can? I don’t remember hearing about landfill searches or dumpster surveillance footage, or any of the usual….

A felony settlement conference is a pretrial proceeding where the prosecution and defense counsel meet to determine if a case can be settled without a trial. A prelim date has not been set but the judge has ordered all parties to return to court on March 26th.

Sorry, I don't know if a landfill search was done, but I'm guessing likely not, because a landfill search is so dangerous for the searchers, expensive, time-consuming, and unlikely to succeed. Especially if some time has passed since the child was thrown away. What a sick and evil man, to do this to a baby.
