''Homicide detectives alongside family and friends of a 14-year-old girl strangled to death in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles more than 19 years ago pleaded with the public Tuesday for help solving her murder.
Emmery Munoz’s body was found in the loading dock area of a business located on the 1500 block of Mirasol Street on Jan. 25, 2006, the Los Angeles Police Department shared in an update on its investigation.
The young teen was last seen alive on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in the City Terrace neighborhood of East Los Angeles.''

Detectives plead for help to solve 2006 cold case murder of Boyle Heights teen
Los Angeles Police Department detectives held a Wednesday news conference, the day of what would have been Munoz's 35th birthday, asking for help to solve the murder.

Initially, investigators thought Munoz likely knew the suspect, but now, they say they are open to any possibility. No suspects have been identified.
Munoz was a student at Bravo Medical Magnet High School and her sister Crystal said she had dreams of becoming a nurse.''
