It's actually not impossible for me to imagine her willingly missing. I want not to, but the possibility is there.

She was missing her husband Josiah desperately - said she felt him near her all the time. I think the family also wonders a bit about this.

I do know that one of the first things that the police checked was Golden Gate bridge videos from Wednesday through Saturday. No matching jumpers.

Cell phone and ATM have not been traced, I don't believe, because a warrant is needed. As far as I know there have been no dog searches. Is it too late for that? Seems like a good idea.

According to Facebook friends, phone was ringing then going to voicemail until around 2:00 Thursday when it started going straight to voicemail.

(edited to correct voicemail assertion)

It might/should be possible for dogs to pick up her trail from where she was last seen on video, I believe they would have to be tracking dogs.

If you think the scent might be fresh enough, that sounds like a very, very good idea. I know a local trainer - she doesn't do tracking but might know someone who does, and I found an Oakland dog training club that has tracking classes and competitions.

I'll check in with Patrick about whether they have explored that avenue.

Very sad update - closer review of CHP tapes shows Erica starting across the Golden Gate Bridge, but not exiting on the other side.

Extremely sad right now. Please pray for peace for Erica's soul and love and strength for her family.

Oh no.
I hope this is not true.

As far as dogs, they can often track a scent for six weeks or more.

Please keep us posted. Deep down, I feared this was a possibility. How heartbreaking if true. Sending sympathy and strength.

Thank you. I'm afraid it is true. Will keep you all posted.

Please keep her nephew Patrick in your prayers especially. He is a very brave, very young man, and this is just too much loss.

So sad for him right now.

So sorry to hear this.

I cannot imagine losing my husband. Poor Erica. I hope she finds the solace she could not find in life.

Thinking of her family.

So sorry to hear this new information.

Do they have any idea how she got over to the Golden Gate?

Although I hope that this is not true, I can understand the despair she must have felt, in losing her husband. A broken heart, is truly about the worst possible thing, IMO.

I hope that if she is in fact, no longer here, that she is with her husband and I send her family and friends my condolences. Very sad..

She took BART then probably buses to Crissy Field then walked. She was picked up by cameras transferring trains at the Oakland West station. I think the police had a very strong sense of what had happened from the onset.

She managed to jump without being seen. I give her great credit for not traumatizing strangers. She was a very gentle and humane person.

There was a strong ebb tide on Thursday afternoon - I think it's likely that her body will not be recovered.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I will make sure that the family knows how much love and compassion for them is out there.

So sad to me. To be at that point in life seems horrific and I hate to think of good hearted people suffering.

Very sad to hear. I am very impressed though with how diligently and quickly LE worked on this.

My heart goes out to her family and friends. How terribly sad. I guess her husband's death was just too much for her to bear. Bless her heart and God rest her soul. I'm so sorry for your loss.
