A woman named Maria Mendoza disappeared from East Palo Alto, CA on the same day Erica disappeared. I wonder if Maria is Erica's mother.

Maria also has a page on State of California Department of Justice and I can see Erica had one too, but I'm not able to access it.

That's interesting Erica's 's DOJ profile is no longer showing up now, but Maria's is. Both cases were never entered into NamUs.

Erica and Maria do resemble one another, both are Hispanic, Maria was 38, old enough to possibly be her mother or relative. Both disappeared from East Palo Alto on April 11, 2001.
