Because we only have her husband's word about where she went and why. We don't even know what she was wearing or when/if she left or where she went.

So what do we know so far

1. Mom talked to Erin for at least an hr on Fri before she went missing. Talked about food Erin brought for mom to make, trip to Sea World, etc. (Which tells me she was not planning to leave.)
2. Erin lived in an Apt (6652 ?something on base)
3. [modsnip]
4. At 7am Erin leaves to visit Joshua Tree park to look for places to take pics when her mother arrives. Husband last to see her per news report.
5. Early Sunday Jon reports her missing.
6. Monday LE find her car blue 2013 Toyota on Valle Vista (between Condor and Utah trail.) Don't know what color blue, light, dark, medium.
7. Reporter states that Mom told him, Jon thought she might have gone to "the ranch" to spend the night.
8. Mom learned Erin found out she was preg. on father's day.

What we don't know

1. What Erin was wearing when last seen.
2. A picture of the car-for tips, maybe someone saw it somewhere.

That's all I can think of, feel free to add to list.

Not adding to your list, just thinking out loud. Was Erin only going to the park, or was she running errands afterwards? One of the many things I find strange is no-one has said "Erin should have been back by {insert time}, even if she {insert problem she could have encountered}, we were worried when we hadn't heard from her by {insert time}.

This is driving me nuts! Why can't they just say Jon was working that day. Or he left at the same time as Erin to go lizard hunting in Barstow. Give us some benign detail which would make this whole scenario make sense, argggh!

Timelines are always helpful "if" you have the correct information. That's why I was asking , other than talking to her mother, who besides her husband saw her last?

Her mother didn't see her last. Supposedly, her husband did. We don't have the "correct" information, IMHO.

I'm right there with you la2cabo. I have daughters 17 and 20. They don't get up at the crack of dawn unless they have to, especially after a late night. She had to be up awfully early to have something to eat and drink, get dressed and out the door by 7AM. Every time I was ever pregnant I needed much more sleep than normal during the first trimester and mornings were spent trying not to puke.

Erin is pregnant, so we know she wasn't drinking at that party. Maybe she went home early and left the others to romp it up into the wee hours. IMO, 7:00 AM isn't that early and she probably wanted to get her foray done early while it was still cool.

BBM: With all due respect to the family, we assume and hope she wasn't drinking but we don't know that to be a fact. Right now we pretty much know nothing about anything.

Hi everyone, please keep Erin and her family as well as the investigators and searches looking for her on your prayer lists tonight! We don't have any new updates but have spoken with detectives and they feel great about the progress of the investigation and the tips/leads they are receiving from the community. Thank you all for your support and concern for Erin! #locateerin

That Sheriff Dept spokesperson sure danced around those questions.

That was very weird. A PIO should say "I'm not at liberty to discuss that" rather than "I don't know". She seemed to truly not know the answers to the very MOST basic questions.

HELLO, LE, tell your Public Information Officer what the scoop is and trust her to withhold information that needs to be withheld. I mean really, that's HER JOB. She seemed sincere in that she really didn't know anything more than all of us know. And yet, she's the spokeswoman for the department.

I feel safe in assuming she wasn't drinking, but do get your point.

Any guy who lived in her building needs to have a good alibi. They can't rule out anyone who says "Oh, I was still sleeping." I wonder if she told anyone at the party that she was going to be heading to the park in the morning?

Just thinking about your statement.
Maybe if she does have morning sickness, she didn't want to eat anything that morning.
Now, I've been pregnant twice, many years ago, and never had morning sickness with either pregnancy. Thankfully! However, I did want to sleep more.

Her attending the party, if true, is troubling to me because she probably did mention her plans for the next day to the wrong person. :(

If you Reply With Quote button then we can tell who you are addressing.
I didn't say her mother saw her last. I said they talked and asked who besides her husband saw her last.

I also said "if" you have the correct information timelines are helpful.

I wish we knew what time he left for duty and if she had a schedule/timetable of when she volunteered at the Horse Rescue.

I'm going to make a few leaps here (in for a penny, in for a pound) but lets say that Erin leaves at 7am for JTNP. She doesn't come home before Jon leaves for his duty shift but he's not overly concerned because perhaps she was also due to volunteer with the horses that day. IF he has overnight duty shift there is a good chance that he didn't know she wasn't back until he got home the following morning.

I just wish LE wasn't so closed mouthed....I understand the reasons why but it make sleuthing difficult.

Mel

Is it known if Jon had duty on Saturday? I've not seen that in print anywhere.

First time poster here!

I've been following this thread but haven't seen where we got the information about a party? I thought it was from FB, but I've looked at both pages and can't find any postings about it?

Welcome to WS, moonbeams!
Thank you for bringing this up about FB. In case there's lots of newbies here, we're not allowed to use FB messages as case facts.
If it's a fact that Jon had duty Saturday or that Erin and Jon attended a neighborhood party and someone in the media interviewed the
neighbor, we need links. I think we might be mixing FB info, which may or may not be true (remember the telephone game?), with the few
facts we do know.

I wonder about surveillance cameras. IMO, they have something to indicate Erin actually went to JTNP. Did she accidentally stumble onto something someone didn't want her to see? I can't imagine why LE would be searching that park if they don't know she actually made it there.

I think they know she went there...maybe from phone pings, maybe witnesses, maybe both. And maybe something that shows she did not park her car where it was found. I really don't think there will be a good ending here...just hope they find her soon.

Oh, thanks.

I am addressing everyone, as far as a "timeline" goes. Have you read the entire thread? If you have, you would know that we really only have the husband's word about Erin going to JTNP on Saturday morning. At least, as far as we know at this point. Also, as far as we know, Erin last spoke to her Mom the day before.

If you have something significant to add, I'm sure we'd all love to know all about it.

She told her mom she planned to go to Joshua Tree when she spoke to her on Friday.

As for having no description of her clothing, I'm not sure my husband could tell you what I was wearing on any given day unless I had fussed about the outfit. Actually, I just asked him. He totally would not be able to tell people what I was wearing. He'd guess jeans, my favorite color shirt and a brand of shoes. Nothing more specific.

I wonder why this case is so closed? Do the military police/Twentynine Palms police get along? Aren't there two different divisions? Not sure? It's military people but the car was located on civilian land. Who takes over? I still believe getting up that early just to scout out places is odd unless possibly she arranged a "meeting" time with someone. There is "suspicious" activities but then they say they are still determining if a crime has been committed. It sounds like they have found nothing (blood/destruction in the car/signs of something going wrong in the car/other fingerprints or dna from someone else other than Jon/Erin). The mother was asked if her purse/belongs were left in the car and she hesitates and says pretty much she hasn't been provided with information. I could see this whole "what do I say" come over her. I think with facebook/cell phones/social media cases have been harder to keep concealed so detectives can work without others sabotaging their efforts at keeping it controlled and focused. It makes me think they still haven't ruled out the husband because they are so tight lipped about it. They obviously aren't going to feed clues to anyone they feel is involved so they could be still trying to rule him out. The investigators didn't give one once of evidence of where the car was or what was found or not found in it. What could be significant about not giving this information out? (Being caught in lies or someone providing information they only know and the ones involved know.). Obviously they are going to look at him first even though I don't think he had anything to do with it. JMO
