She could have went to JT, then met up with "someone" afterwards.

Wonder if she ever used spending the night at "the ranch" as a cover for time with a BF. That could explain why husband might have thought she decided to stay at "the ranch" on Sat night. The White Rock Horse rescue is about a 40 min drive from the base.

Crews looking for pregnant Marine wife Erin Corwin have narrowed their search to specific areas in the San Bernardino County desert.

“Before, we were searching literally the entire desert for clues. We’ve been able to develop through investigations some specific target areas that we are now looking at,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Morongo Basin Captain Dale Mondary...

Mondary said there are no official search efforts on base. He said the “target areas” are in Joshua Tree National Park and other parts of the Morongo Basin, but would not specify where.

Jmo I would be surprised if there is another man involved. I think Erin is possibly a random victim of a crime, which I almost never think. But I am a little stymied by the remarks from LE that were less than supportive of hubby, Imo.

There is a comment below a news article about Erin that mentions this, and apparently the husband's aunt mentioned this on Facebook and then quickly deleted her comments. This is all RUMOR since these two sources don't necessarily know anything about Erin's private life.

Jmo I would be surprised if there is another man involved. I think Erin is possibly a random victim of a crime, which I almost never think. But I am a little stymied by the remarks from LE that were less than supportive of hubby, Imo.

Just thinking outside the box but what if something were found in her car to indicate suicide? Not really sure how the placement of her car would come in to play but suicide, sadly, just crossed my mind.

I have started to read through some of the comments from the news websites because those usually aren't deleted right away like they can be on the facebook pages. There is a lot of crap and rambling but sometimes people are afraid to announce information on a facebook page/email/hotline because they can be identified. I don't take any comments as facts but just read to see others insights. JMO

Well today's news is hopeful. The fact that they've narrowed the search down through information they've gotten somehow, and have fresh searchers sounds likely they will be successful.

Searching that whole desert is hopeless, IMHO.

I thought they may never find her before reading this last article. It really sounds like they have something to go on, and now additional resources.

I think they know she went there...maybe from phone pings,maybe witnesses, maybe both. And maybe something that shows she did not park her car where it was found. I really don't think there will be a good ending here...just hope they find her soon.

bbm ~ Uh oh, I just thought of something - totally hypothetical. What if someone else drove Erin's
car out to JT and left her phone out there but she was never there. Then the person left the car where it was found.

The car on camera alone won't identify who was driving the car. Hope LE has more.

So far just that one that was interesting that I posted earlier. I have at least learned more on how the military works with some of their comments from people experienced by living on base or are currently in the military. Also anyone can comment on these pages so it's not controlled by either side so you can hear both sides of speculation instead of with facebook comments where it can all be controlled by the admin and you only hear one side. Just keeping an open-mind.

I read through the majority of them and some were just down right funny (and not related to the disappearance). Some were people with their own anti-Obama agenda's. Odd mixture of characters posting.

I know! There are some odd responses for sure. I was trying to keep it serious but some made me BOL. Shheeshh some people. I wish they could divide the comments into (Serious commenter) and (I'm possibly below the age of 11 so don't take me serious YOLO).

It's a little bit of a stretch, but there is public transportation within walking distance from where Erin's car was found that runs to the base. 1/2 mile walk from Valle Vista Road to Himalaya Plaza then pick up the 3A or 1 MBTA bus. Seems more plausible to take the bus than walk that far back if someone dropped off her car and needed to get back to the base.

Possible but when the bus comes onto base it enters the main gate and every id is checked so you'd have a good chance of a gate sentry rembering you.

I think this was pointed out earlier. But IMO, the car was within walking distance from the base. Perhaps someone drove it back and walked back on base. They are searching JT so perhaps the car was seen there before it was driven back to the spot near base. And the sheriff's release saying "no indication of her direction of travel" could mean it was found a little bit off the road in the dirt. All speculation, though.

Another thing that could have happened is if someone followed Erin out of the park, pulled up beside her acting as if they needed assistance or directions - asked her a question about something. Then they could have pulled a gun on her and told her to get into their car.

There should be tire tracks or something then, right? Were the keys in the car? Since the car wasn't discovered until Monday, would the wind destroy evidence or, on a paved road, would there even be any evidence left behind?

And, what about her camera. Here's the thing though, they said she was going to scope out locations to take photographs with her mother in the future not that she was going to JT to take photographs on Saturday.
