Michele said Erin was 'super-excited' by her pregnancy after tragically losing a baby due to a miscarriage in February.

She said: 'She was so excited to be having a baby, she was a sweet girl, I just can't believe she's dead, who would do such a thing, they threw her away like she was a piece of garbage and to someone who was pregnant.'

Ahhhh OK. So it was the most current pregnancy.

But if he gave up his parental rights, wouldn't that release his obligation of paying child support? I don't know, am just curious?

Not without her agreement, Imo, if at all. Gitana?

  • #183
We don't actually know if that was the motive. Only Erin and CL know what led up to that outing and why it went down the way it did. We just don't know.

I did say Imo (in my opinion). I just do not see another motive that would involve luring her out to the desert, other than affair and pregnancy being exposed. Imo.

I am trying to find the video again, but you could be right.
I did not see a video but here is a article that jjw posted that talks about it.It does say it was the pregnancy after the miscarriage. One problem I have with the article is they talk about LE finding a 40 cal. gun at the ranch and I remember LE saying they found ammo for a 40 cal but no gun and it was the 22cal they found at the ranch.

Do you believe that CL hated Erin?

Do you believe that CL hated Erin?

Not really...just what he thought she had "done" to him, threatened his home life, his future, etc

Thanks, I forgot where I read/saw it and couldn't find the link. Thanks again.

I understand - and it seems the most likely motive. But what if Erin told CL that she was pregnant and had decided that she was going to try to make her marriage work? If she told her friend that CL MAY have been the father, it means, to me, she really didn't know. Maybe it was her ending it, knowing CL was about to leave. Maybe he didn't like that?

Thank you, geez I thought it was a video, but it was how I remembered it.

So around I go again, The Ranch all knew, If the Ranch knew and CL and NL went there a couple times a week, I would think they would have known, EC finds out on June 15th or confirms it and tells JC. . 2 weeks later murdered.

Just not adding up for me. Best I sleep on it.

Thanks again.

Some have asked about the RED CAR. IMO It is a smoking gun.
Here are my previous post regarding this item. Sorry for the length.
Concerning the Red car
These are my earlier post – dates included - draw your own conclusions
So it makes sense guys, read from the last entry up.
These are my opinions on this subject

Just my opinion folks. I have not speculated to this point but I mapped the travel time from center of 29 Palms to the long/lat published earlier. The travel is 58 minutes via Google Maps (one way). Allowing a small cushion of say 10 minutes each way during travel, now total travel 68 minutes (one way) total time (2 hours 16 minutes) that allows approximately 40 - 50 minutes to accomplish mission. Exit and re entry into vehicle, some small talk and Shoot, Shovel or drop remains. Leaving 29 Palms approx 7:15 to 7:30 and vehicle exchange (witness sighting) taking place @ 10:00 or 10:30. At least the time line fits. Again, this is total speculation on my part. I have never been to that area so I had no idea as to distances and road conditions until now. As I had said early on, if the sighting was correct and the approximate departure times were close, all is needed is to calculate how far a person could travel, complete the mission and return.

As for unknowns looking at EC’s car, they probably would not have gotten out of her car. I have to believe that if EC had left her car there, she would have locked it before leaving. That would not allow any random person from entering it wo use of force. The actions related by MB suggest the person leaving the vehicle exited the car and appeared to be locking it. (use of key phob), This suggest either EC or someone with the keys. Three possibilities here: EC, either person(s) having EC’s keys or JC, as he would also have a set of keys (not positive here be a common assumption)
JC being there at that time suggest a female with him but if he had seen EC’s car, he probably would have gotten out himself and inspected it and not remained in the RED car.

What is the story on the Red Car?
1. Two unrelated persons looking at the blue vehicle.
2. Unknown person (male) picking up driver of blue car. Depending on how you reason, either EC or NL. Any chance the red car had Tennessee Plates? Just thought I’d ask.
3. CL driver, NL was woman leaving blue car and entering red car.
4. JC driver, NL was woman leaving blue car and entering red car.
5. CL driver, MI was woman leaving blue car and entering red car. (doubtful)
6. I don’t think JC and MI would be working together on this.
7. I don’t think it would be JC picking up EC.
8. Red car does not exist. Never was there.
9. Choose your poison folks!!
It has been posted (tvscum: Thread 8, #474), that he (tvscum) had called MB and confirmed: (1) MB is not color blind, (2) That the woman could have been either EC or NL, MB is not sure which person.

MB was pretty darn specific about the type of vehicle he saw. He said Kia or Hyundai Accent, a red four door. (tvscum: Thread 8, #487)
Yes, he (MB) was sure it was not a Jeep Cherokee. (tvscum: Thread 8, #489)
I think MB is legit. I also think LE was some solid data and know where they are going with this case. Normally if additional info or tips are needed, LE will ask the public for assistance.
This is also a PR nightmare for the military (government). This may also be the reason why there is very little information being released. I hope this case does not just go away.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about the relationship situation, A PERSON IS MISSING, and could possibly have met foul play. Whoever is responsible for this (if a crime has been committed) needs to be brought to justice.

Although there appears to be strong evidence as to who may be involved, and some of us (me included) would like to have a serious “Come to Jesus” conversation with certain folks, we have to stay vigilant and continue to gather and evaluate information until it is confirmed we have the correct people before action is taken. Just my .02

I was getting frustrated with the slow progress but your post recharged my battery. Thanks!
I think the issue of the RED car needs t be determined if we (us on this board) are going to help on this case. (1) Is the sighting legit? If so, (approximately 10:00 AM) who were the people that were seen by the witness? Was the woman EC, NL or someone else? Who was driving the Red car? CL , JC or someone else. The time line is also CRITICAL! If we assume the woman was either EC or NL, that means the distance to the "destination" was within an eighty (80) mile radius, maximum, and probably less do to down time (time out of vehicle). If woman was NL, she was returning the blue car from wherever and the person in the other vehicle has important information (who could that be?). If the woman was EC (doubtful), she met with whomever was driving the red car (possibly someone unknown). I think the time line, based on the witness observation is CRITICAL, in finding any information on EC's whereabouts!
Did MB see a red and a blue car or just two vehicles. The blue car was EC and was there when MB returned so that is a given, but was the second vehicle as he described? The "two hours away" is out the window if the witness statement is accurate!
As with everyone, the second vehicle is bothering me. I think this needs to be confirmed, as it would greatly aid in determining what has happened to EC and where she might be at this point.

Greetings you'll. First time posting on this case. I have been watching this case and collecting info since the beginning. This question has been bothering me since the sighting was reported. (1) Was it legit? (2) Could MB possible been mistaken on the color of car? (3) Could he be color blind? (4) If the sighting was legit, the time lines are important: It was reported EC left @ 7:00 AM, The sightings were @ approximately 10:00 AM. What happened in that 3 hour interval? Was that actually EC that was observed changing vehicles? The big question is "What is the story on the RED car? I have a few ideas here but will until I get some input from the folks here. This is truly the best sight for info on this case. Also very intelligent folks on here. Thanks for any assistance.

So here is my 15 cents...

the red car thing :pullhair::bored::deadhorse:

calculation of LMP to how far along you are "pullhair::deadhorse:, even though it is proven how to do calculate, each doctor has their own 'idea' of things...(back in the early 90's)I was on birth control for 6 months, had periods every month, went in for my 6 mth check (cervical cancer) and I had a lump in utero...I was sent to the hospital for an ultra sound... I was approx 10 wks pregnant with twins! if the doctor went by my LMP (end of January) I would have been pregnant about 6 1/2 months.. my daughter was born in August at 8lbs 13 oz(lost the twin)...it is not ALWAYS about the exact cycle, the exact number of days, blah, blah, blah. No reason to argue about it.

I am not, absolutely not, taking up for CL but if you look, truly look at his face, this is a man tortured! I do believe in my heart that his wife pushed this, same way as Heather Elvis, which keeps being brought up here, I do not think he did this alone, at all.

It will be interesting to know WHEN the google search and the man was asked about disposing of a body...
It will be interesting to know IF the wife was with him when he asked that dumbazz question.
It will be interesting to know WHY the wife made the statement of something missed to whatever her name is and TELLING LE that the .22 was at her house where he took it! UMM hello! she knew and was part of it, period. Go tell it to Judge Judy, she will get us all straightened out.
It will be interesting to know HOW foolish and dumb they both feel now, thinking they hid Erin so well they wouldn't prosecute, when it sounds like it was headed that way anyway, finding Erin so quickly just brought it home sooner rather than later.
Why would she tell LE where the 22 was if she was involved?

Possible, but that would still make the affair the motive.

If she did...to appear cooperative? Or did she say the last she saw of it, it was here, for example.

Okay. Time for a new strategy. I've looked at this every which way and I really don't think they're going to be able to stretch this pregnancy to a second murder. I think it's time to try Plan B: Double Intent

Two murders, One body.

Murder #1 (Felony Murder) Intent #1: Destroy Evidence of Military Crime Of Adultery

Underlying felony: PC-209: Kidnapping

209. (a) Any person who seizes, confines, inveigles, entices,
decoys, abducts, conceals, kidnaps or carries away another person by
any means whatsoever with intent to hold or detain, or who holds or
detains, that person for ransom, reward or to commit extortion or to
exact from another person any money or valuable thing, or any person
who aids or abets any such act, is guilty of a felony

(namely any inculpatory evidence of the affair) Since Erin died while this felony was ongoing, it's felony murder.

Murder #2 PC-187:Homicide; Intent #2: Appease his wife that the affair will never continue, a belated attempt to salvage his marriage

Legal rationale: Since he had double the intent, and double the objectives, it naturally follows it would have taken double the thought and planning.
This increases the culpability because it would extend the period in which a reasonable person could come to his senses and realize the depravity of his thoughts in such a dark time. He ultimately failed to do so.

Good to learn there are other legal aspects to what was done besides murder and lying in wait that may help prosecutors (if the possible pregnancy isn't confirmable or prosecutable as a second offense) to convict. Thanks for the information!

I do not remember this?

It was a rumor and I believe it happened. No reason for person saying it to lie. Guess I shouldn't post rumors. Sorry.

Why would she tell LE where the 22 was if she was involved?

Exactly, at that time LE had not searched his jeep correct? It was parked in the carport but not searched, of which Nichole stated something was missed, and how would she know what was missed or whether it was important enough to be missed? If she told them about the .22 why not point out the something in the garage?

On 7/1 LE went to speak to both of them, Nichole was questioned about firearms, one she said was a .22 caliber rifle. A search warrant was then served, and then Nichole led them to IM's home to retrieve the rifle hidden in the closet...how did she know?
On 7/3 the Jeep was processed in which 40 caliber spent shells were found but LE never found a .40 caliber firearm.
It says now that a .22 shell was found with Erin, does it mention a gun? If I'm not mistaken a .40 is a handgun? and it has not been found.
On 7/3 it was also stated by Nichole to IM that Chris did not have an alibi for 6/29/14...hmmm the day after Erin disappeared..
and that she could keep her story straight but Chris was to dumb to keep his straight...if she was NOT INVOLVED why did she need to keep her story straight? the truth requires no effort...........................................

of course, it's all my own opinion!

Why would she tell LE where the 22 was if she was involved?

Prior to the initial search (of their apartment), Nichole was asked by LE if there were any weapons in their apartment. She disclosed the .22, LE searched and did not find it. They went back to her and said they did not find it. She then told them it was at the ranch.

So what's up with the shell casing.Did EC pick in up as a souvenir of her "special day or because she saw what was coming.Did CL throw it down there in some sick marking of his kill or is he simply the stupidest man to walk the surface of the earth.

I was talking to a friend about that today. If she thought they were going hunting, then a gun being there would make sense. What if they shot at squirrels or lizards or something small just had target practice and he picked up the brass as usual because that's what he's trained to do and after he shoved her down the mineshaft, he threw the casings in because he didn't want to take them home?
