I would have been gone in January or whenever she first learned of an affair. But maybe he denied it at that time and there was no real proof...but with a pregnancy, there would be proof.
I may or may not be able or willing to forgive for an affair.

But for a murder? No. Not even for being accused. I would never continue to associate myself with someone so depraved and careless of human life. Nope.

Nicole had quite the smug 'of-course-we-were-justified-in-killing-the-mistress-look.'

I've followed a few high-profile cases and always pay a lot of attention to post-murder behaviour. And in my experience when the majority of Websleuthers/trial-watchers agree that someone's behaviour is bizarre then it normally turns out to be right...as in the person is found criminally guilty in some form or another.

Thank you, Fascinated1, for laying out your thoughts on NL. I am so happy for those who have recently got good medical test results. I'm still formulating a hypothesis on NL; she could be anything from the mastermind to someone who knew something after the fact. I also consider that she and CL could have basically been swingers, with her not minding his philandering as long as pregnancy didn't occur.

I wonder what type of test they used on EC when they did the pregnancy test the say she went to the emergency room with a migraine (and found out she was pregnant.) Which I believe was on Father's Day, when JC found out, if I'm remembering correctly. MOO

BBM: I'm still catching up so I apologize in advance if this has already been addressed. As far as I know the migraine and visit to the ER are simply rumor. Nobody has been able to find and/or post an MSM link for this.

I was in ER for my kidney and they did a clean catch for pregnancy such.

My experience was different. I went into the ER for chest pains, and they did a serum pregnancy test on me, even without my knowledge. They even asked if I thought I could be pregnant and I said, "no" because I used birth control. I only found out they'd done it when they came in and told me I was pregnant! I found out when I was only 2 weeks along.

Not sure why they chose a serum pregnancy test. I was too shocked at the time to even think to ask such things.

Perhaps it depends on the hospital? Or perhaps depends on the tests they plan to do? Or maybe it depends on other factors. Not sure.

Although, thinking on it now, perhaps they chose a serum pregnancy test on her (if that even happened) because of her recent miscarriage. It's possible they wanted to be sure, because the amount of HCG in her system might have given a false positive on a urine test? I don't know how that works. Just a thought.

Just speculating and wondering.

Can't keep lies straight -- could be "hunting in jtnp" versus "collecting tires"?

Child support can be very high, as much as rent in some small cities. It can definitely be a motive for murder for some people. I think it plays a role here, as well as the wrath of NL, possible break in his relationship with his child and the whole affair being made public (all of which are happening anyway.

Also, I think we may find that CL led LE to those specific mines due to his online searches, his phone and/or electronic trail. Etc.

OT, watched a Dateline last night involving college-aged people. The murdered had his phone on Airplane Mode for five hours (during the time of the murder) but LE was able to see he used the Flashlight App for 45 minutes while he would have been burying the body (later found) after buying the "usual" items...shovel, duct tape, etc...all on video. So you never know what LE knows or is holding for later court appearances.

Jmo

I watched that show as well except I fell asleep the last 10 minutes so I didn't get to see the outcome. Ugh! Was the kid convicted? TIA

OT/BBM: I assume having it on airplane mode was an attempt to somehow throw LE off? I have never heard of this.

Yes...he still denies it all, of course.

Thank you for sharing! That is a crazy way to find out! The test procedure must differ from hospital to hospital or maybe even physician to physician.

Ok it gets harder and harder to seperate rumor from fact so thanks for clearing it up! Do you know how this rumor started?

Hunting is an interesting way to put "murder"

I still use my old dumb phone, however, I think having it in airplane mode disables the GPS tracking in a smart phone.

I do remember. But IIRC there was no article? Just rumor...I think

I didnt know that it was possible to track app usage. I can just imagine the judgement if it was ever needed to be done on my phone "she plays Tetris for hours!!"

Thanks. I only finally gave up my old phone and got a smartphone a few months back. I have no idea what airplane mode is, or even if I have a GPS. I guess so, as it seems that is a "given" with smartphones. Anyway, thanks for the info. I am pretty clueless with some of this new technology. I hope CL didn't know about airplane mode!

Sorry for my sudden spew of posts here. I followed this closely at the beginning and then stopped because there were no new updates and I just kind of assumed it was the husband. But getting back with it the past few days has been such a whirlwind. I am astonished at the great police work done in her county. I really feel like she has a lot of people fighting for her. And I feel a lot of sympathy and sadness for her husband. He must be in shock. I bet he cant begin to unravel his own grief and angry.

I think when the phone is in airplane mode, it doesn't transmit signal or try to connect to a tower, as not to interfere with flight equipment. he probably figured doing that would prevent pings.
