I just looked at this and realized someone might think I wrote it. I just cut and pasted it from twitter so you could find the article. I did NOT write "Start donating..."

Please be sure and listen to the audio. Click to the left of the article. Poor Cassy

*Thanks truthbeknown[/QUOTE]

I didn't see that at all...... It's so small. thanks for pointing that out

I didn't. I got him a virtual soap-on-a-rope. I'm so bad. Tee hee.

Yes, you did indeed

Same here!

I know he's entitled to a PUBLIC DEFENDER if he can't afford an attorney. Never have I heard some overpriced attorney could bill the state or county for fees!!!????????

Think of Jose Baez during the FCA case. He was initially hired..Casey then claimed needed public defender...but Baez continued (with Mason et al) bilking.. I mean billing *cough cough* the taxpayers.

Am I allowed to say: that horse woman is absolutely disgusting.

  • #705
Can you explain how EC's family has any say in what plea or sentence is discussed or given?

From previous posters here that have had family murdered and was a DP case... (e.g. Tulessa and KatieCoolady) the families do give opinions and input to the Prosecutor on such...but it, in the end, is up to the Prosecutor. :moo:

"because her owner recently died."

^That's stating it mildly.

WRR's bad publicity came straight out of Megli's mouth. With all the horse rescues out there, it doesn't matter if her operation sinks or swims, there will always be another place for those horses. Would I relinquish a horse to her rescue? Helltothe NO!

Getting publicity for a good cause is one thing, getting it on the coat tails of a murder and enabling the murderer is an entirely different thing.

Megli should put a sign out with "Murderer Chris Lee adopted 2 of our horses and stayed in our bunkhouse, Tours at 10:00, 2:00. 4:00, and 6:00, Photo souvenirs at the Office". Turn the Rescue into a Potato Gun Range.

Great catch on the water intake, Maskedwoman! I had to haul in water for 7 horses, at one point, til I got my well dug (3 1/2 years later). I had 6-50 gallon barrels in the back of my truck, that I filled at the water station every 5-6 days, that provided ALL the water for my critters and 2 kids. The first thing you do buying property out in the boonies is check the water situation. Megli has had that property since 2004. 10 years later, she wants donations for a well? Is this so she can avoid a bill from a local water company? Or is she too dumb to switch out a standard residential 1/4 hp pump for a 3 hp with a few more pressure tanks?
When you get a higher hp pump, you need to drop larger water lines, install reducers, dig trenches, get a dedicated electrical line with a higher amperage........the cost of just "drilling the hole" in California runs between $15-$30@ft., closer to the $30 mark.

And...........Big Horn Desert View Water is the water company the serves Megli's property, it's just around the corner on Jemez Trail.

Megli is milking the donation wagon for all it's worth. I wonder if she can even DRILL a well on her property? In my county, you can't drill a well if you're in the existing boundaries of a water company unless you get a "Special Use" permit, and get the well site and specs approved by Environmental Services and State Dept. of Water Resources...THAT is incredibly rare.

I have not seen any pics or video from yesterday's hearing. Has anybody seen anything?

Thank you. :) And right back atcha about whether she can even drill a well. We had well water when we first bought our home. It was sulfur water (gross), so we jumped on city water when they came through. The city told us wells were grandfathered in until the property changed hands. So, if we ever wanted to sell our property, we would have to at least hook up to the city water. If they have you on city water, I'm sure they wouldn't want to let you go.

Yes. The prosecutors (office) decide based on the severity of the crime, resources, public opinion etc. They do take into account the opinions of the victim's family as well. Sometimes, the family may want the death penalty but the office might decide otherwise.

Hi Rose
I remember you from the Jodi Arias trial. Aren't you in England? I can't remember exactly, but I'm thinking you are in another Country?

Hi Dmacky! I remember you too! I used to live in Canada but have been in Asia for a number of years. I've been moving around different countries here though! I'm due for yet another move soon! I am still closely following the Arias trial but will resume posting there only once trial actually starts. The delays are driving me crazy!

I said I wouldn't follow another trial but here I am. :blushing:

Ok... I was actually starting to give IM the benefit of the doubt, when this video first started playing. The reporter made it sound like she was interviewing her (IM) as a friend of Erin's...... But very quickly I realized that IM was emotional for the Lee's....Innocent until proven guilty

http://www.kmir.com/category/277966/video?clipId=10503815&autostart=true

I just listened to the audio - that was horrible. Even when she does (finally!) talk about Erin I felt like it was really rude.

I'm so sad for the horses, especially Cassy. "Cruelty never sleeps" - yeah, tell that to a certain "cowboy" who they make sure to mention isn't present at the ranch.

And then there's the headline that makes it sound like it's somehow Erin's fault that the ranch is hurting for money. "Erin Corwin's death hurt one of her last refuges: White Rock Ranch Horse Rescue" Grrrrrr!!! Erin did not hurt the rescue! Somehow I doubt the rescue's even hurting, honestly. I think it just seemed like good timing for a publicity grab.

Well now. IM seems to have plenty of wonderful things to say about Erin now that she's using her to hawk for donations! That just makes me

The article actually worded it much more eloquently than the audio did IMO. I hadn't listened to the audio until today and I am just... sick, pissed off, upset, and clearly can't quite find the right words.

Truthbeknown I am so sorry for not only your loss, but also for you and her other loved ones having to hear that. It's all so wrong.

There better be justice for Erin and her loved ones at the end of all of this. With 1,400+ pages, I'm thinking they have plenty to go on.

Yes. Subtle finger-pointing at a girl who was murdered and thrown into a mine. :banghead: Her family has barely had the time to even get over the shock of the murder. They have a long and painful road ahead of them but she wants to talk about her ranch.

I think I'm imagining this but I thought I heard her call Erin 'needy' in the audio. It's probably my imagination. Maybe she was talking about the horse.

Nope, not your imagination. She called Erin needy. I almost vomited.
IM, if you are reading websleuths, here is your public service message:
STOP TALKING. Your words, as well as your lack of words, are hurtful. Your actions are hurtful. There is no backtracking now. Stand down, and stop making it worse. And please, please tell me that you are not housing anyone's family in your bunkhouse.

You aren't imagining things, unless I am too. That's how I heard it as well. I think that's about the point where I got so pissed off I could barely listen to the rest, so admittedly I may have missed something else that followed.

  • #718
Oh no, I heard it too!
I knew you guys would love the audio. That lady is a piece of work. Like I said before, I would love to see IM on the stand. It would be so easy to get her to inadvertently throw people under the bus.

So she called Erin 'needy' and said she liked attention (I think). The implications are crystal clear. This is beyond revolting.

She's not about to say anything bad about her friend Lee. I guess birds of a feather do flock together...

When she said CL was innocent until PROVEN guilty, I was done......I was so upset that I had to get off the computer. :furious: :frown: I didn't want a timeout.
