Can't wait for part 2 of the blogger.

The thing that stands out to me is that there was purported yelling/arguing, but the juror simply told the judge that she complimented Nichole on her shoes...
Nah.

Weren't the jurors told not to talk to anybody?

from Day One Blog:
By comparing Erin and Chris Lee's respective phone records, Boles surmised both were traveling in an easterly direction from the Twentynine Palms Marine Base around 7:30 the morning of June 28.
At roughly 7:36 a.m., Chris Lee's phone was in the same location where Erin Corwin's Toyota Corolla was later found abandoned.
The last activity of any kind on Erin's phone was at 8:04 a.m. on June 28.

Pretty damning evidence against the defendant. Especially with the home made garrotte they found under the car seat. :jail:

per the blog...thank you btw, there was a garrote underneath the seat of CL and NL suburban when the vehicle was checked in Alaska??
That to me is super weird. Why on earth would a person of interest in a murder case leave a garrote in his car?

Ok, thanks for explaining. I guess the key is as you said, how are they notified they will be called to testify. The DA subpoenaed her, but decided not to call her to testify.

Surely her attorney is clued in though. He probably contacted the DA and knew the above. So she came to court anyway to say she wanted testify for the prosecution regardless? Or was it that she wanted to attend the trial in advance of her appearing for the defense? I'm thick headed tonight I guess, lol. Maybe the bloggers part two will shed light on the lovely Nicholes appearance in court today.

I've never been served a subpoena not sure how it works but wouldn't it say something like

Notice to appear on such and such date and time.

Maybe today was when she was to appear to testify (but today would be out of order for the DA so probably not.)

She came all dressed up for court, found out nope not gonna happen and Went bat$$itcrazy outside the courtroom. But why the smiling before the Judge? Maybe a nervous smile. I give up.

I'm making lite of this and it's not funny. Shame on me. I'm tired. Not seeing anything from Joe Nelson and nothing in Beth's part 2. So I guess it will remain a mystery.

Hard to follow a case like this and I've forgotten so much from early on.

I do hope whatever happened today doesn't cause a mistrial or give the def anything for appeal if there's a conviction.

Goodnight

I am not reading it the same as you. She was happy in court. I think she left with a smile on her face, got caught by the bailiff when she was talking to the juror, he said something to her or asked her to stop or what have you and then she got mad? Either way, I hope Part 2 is very specific, detailed and lengthy.

I admit I have no idea about today just my opinion of things written in the blog. You could be right.

Still doesn't explain why she was in the courtroom today, because if she is under subpoena she can't attend until afters she testifies. So what the heck?

Do you think she purposely talked to a witness in order to try to get thrown out from testifying?

I wouldn't put anything past her, JMO. Her (mis)conduct was beyond the pale, worthy of a contempt of Court charge, and disgusting :cow:

I truly wish cameras were allowed in the courtroom. NL truly makes me

Maybe he had someone in mind to wear that one too....

This third car is driving me nuts. It doesn't fit any scenario. Why another car? There has to be a reason. Something that an extra vehicle can offer. That nothing else can.

Why would Chris be so careful as to get a separate car for the crime, only to recklessly leave all of that material in his own vehicle? Very strange...

Because his baby mama Nicole probably talked him into it while offering ideas.

I also don't understand why someone who had reportedly been bragging for MONTHS about how he knows exactly how to hide a body, would suddenly stoop to ask another marine how to hide a body. ?? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of bragging? I also love how all of his supposed plans to hide a body never materialised. If you had a perfect way to do it, why not do it that way? It is 'perfect' after all.

BTW, isn't this thread getting pretty long in the tooth here? Something to think about.

Just catching up (I'm on EST)

"She was with her attorney, who said his client wanted to testify "over my advice."

1. Why does she even have an attorney if she is completely innocent of everything?
a) Not involved with the murder.
b) Knew nothing about the planning.
c) Was not an accessory before (or after) the murder
d) Had NO intent to help her hubby avoid arrest.

Kaloyanides said in open court of Nichole, "This witness is unpredictable, and I'm not sure (the interaction) was benign."
Sounds like to me he wants that juror removed ?? But I thought SHE was the smart one and Chris was the one that was too dumb to keep his story straight

So we have her own hubby's attorney says she's unpredictable?
That could have so meanings! (I miss Court TV) I would give anything to be in that courtroom. Unfortunately the Ross Harris (hot car death) trial started right before this one, and it is the one that's being live streamed everywhere.

still reading....

Thank you Kimi. Short on time at the moment, no time to re-read. Who said the tracks did not match the jeep?

It was in Day 4 blog post by Beth

The final witness of the day was Sgt. Mauricio Hurtado with the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. Back in 2014 he was a detective on the same four-man homicide detail team as Detectives Woods and Zierdt. Hurtado described how CSI specialists processed the scene surrounding Erin Corwin's abandoned car. He testified about the footprints that were seen leaving the driver's side of Erin's car, and towards another vehicle. Hurtado originally believed the tire tracks of that vehicle matched Chris Lee's jeep, but further investigation revealed they did not.
