Thank you, we are doing well. The Deputy DA was incredible at letting me know and/or see pictures before we got to court. I sat with my eyes closed a lot and prayed. I have a peace that cannot be explained other than it is from God.

I looked up accessory after the fact, since I couldn't understand why NL had not been charged with at least that. After reading the definition for the state of California, I'm wondering if the DA is waiting for a guilty conviction. Without it there is not accessory after the fact. You need a guilty party first.

Just some food for thought and some hope that we're still going to see NL charged with something!

I have't read that either. And I've read every article that has been linked here and then some. It's also not in Beth's blog (since anyone that was there reporting, was more than likely inside the court room, no one saw what happened, only heard. Unless we have some insider information happening?)

The DA has made it quite clear 'all the evidence points to one person'. That's a matter of public record.

If Chris is convicted here, it means that the jury has decided Nichole played no part, and here's why: If the jury believes Nichole played ANY part in this crime, then they don't have any reason to think she wasn't the one who actually killed Erin. If the two of them were in this together, and there's nothing to connect either one of them specifically to the final act of murder (except that it had to be one of them who did it) then the jury can't just flip a coin and say this one did it, and that one just helped.

Chris is a proven liar, and if he conspired in this crime FOR Nichole, then there is no reason to think he wouldn't try (by 'confessing') to cover FOR Nichole as well.

The only way they can find Chris committed the crime is if they first find Nichole had nothing to do with it. It's acquittal by exclusion.

At any point during his confession did either attorney or the judge ask if he acted alone? Or didn't they get that far yet in the questioning?

There is no forensic evidence linking the implement (the garrote) to anyone in particular, except for the deceased. Which means that this is a circumstantial case. Those circumstances allegedly proving that no one but Chris could have used the garrote to commit this crime. IF Nichole was present for any reason, that is a change in circumstance which would mean that Chris is no longer the only person who could have used the weapon, to the exclusion of anyone else.

I forgot to mention that more than most on her thread think that the mother was in some capacity responsible for the murder, if not the murderer herself, yet LE only charged him with the murder. We don't fully understand why. But there has to be a reason. That reason is the evidence talks and points to him. DNA is not the end all be all, evidence sometimes doesn't make sense, witnesses make mistakes, people lie and are swayed out of fear. But the important thing is they found her, her family can begin to have closure and she will be remembered.

I understand what you're trying to say, but please let's all not forget what actually happened back there. They matched Erin's dental records at 9:30 pm. They arrested Chris Lee, and only Chris Lee, at 10 pm, thirty minutes later. It was the fastest arrest for murder in history(absent police at the scene crimes). All of the physical evidence was (according to local driving estimates) at least 2 hours away from a proper processing facility. They don't know when she was put there, or who had what alibi. This wasn't about evidence; someone decided this. Someone made the decision, early that summer, that if they found Erin's body they were going to arrest Chris Lee. Only Chris Lee. That's what they did. And everything they've done since then has been done to justify that decision.

Nichole is not going to be arrested, period.
