I can think of a reason. If the affair rumor is true (and she's meeting up with the guy and hopping into his red car) then she's tucking her car away in the bushes hopefully insuring that anyone that she or her husband might know (a friend or maybe someone in JC's platoon) doesn't see it and say something to JC.

Mel

There's far better places to conceal a car for a planned affair excursion.

The Where is Erin Corwin page. A neighbor of Erin's named the Marine involved and gives more info.

Wow. I take personal interest in this story because I used to work on board the 29 Palms Marine Corps base and grew up within walking distance of the National Park... so I would like to know more about what's being said. With all these things being said, still nothing new though on the case??

The Where's Erin fb info is not a surprise to me.

Oh there probably are but then again this looks like the middle of no where (at least according to google maps) so she might have felt secure enough in just parking behind a few bushes, away from any prying eyes in town.

Personally the bushes would scare me more. Could be any number of creepy crawlies hiding under it to escape the heat of the day. (snakes, spiders ect.)

In the below linked interview at 4:48 in this is what I hear:

JV-M: Now I understand that your sister also saw the similar thing? Were you with your sister? She saw it all, too?
MB: No, no. no. I wasn't with her at all. She had seen it on a different occasion. We live in on the same road. She was coming home from work one morning at the same time and noticed the vehicle, too. We can't help not....but we ain't like...oh there is a vehicle broke down.

I suppose he probably meant that his sister saw her car (in the location it was moved to) on either the Sunday or Monday after he saw it. I think the "different occasion" is what threw me.

No, FB is considered rumors. You can provide the link and say see post by and their initials. Can not cut and paste the post here.

Would someone please post the link to the FB page with the conversation?

TGIRecovered look a few posts above and you will see a link

Well. I think many of us had already known the name of this person. Now, I am just hoping they are able to find Erin and gather enough evidence to let that terrible person rot in jail for the rest of his life.

Guys the Mods are gonna have a lot of clean up to do if you keep talking about PM's (requesting one, saying you sent one, etc). Like the Mod's say "it's like whispering in someone's ear, while in a group conversation", it's rude and exclusionary. Talking about, or alluding to names on a FB page which haven't appeared in MSM, is going to get the thread closed. I think we may see a break in this case soon, and I don't want to see it closed down in the thick of things. :)

Ok, call me stupid but when I go to the link I see no conversations or comments. Help!

It is a closed group. You have to join to see posts.

Why would someone create an FB dedicated to helping find a missing woman and then close it so that people can't post or see posts?

I think this FB was created by someone who was sick of being censored on the family's FB. I believe the person in charge posted here telling us to come over. May have been removed though.

I am not sure. Maybe to just have a small group of people to discuss it with. I am not a member.

I was just about to post this. Lots of new members...PM's can't be discussed.

That being said, I still pray for her to be found, and it's a horrible thing that this has happened to her and I hope strict justice is served to the perpetrator.

No pm discusssion. No victim bashing. No naming of POI unless it is in MSM and linked up.

If we do not follow these rules the thread will be locked and no one can post.

I am not a mod, but I have seen threads closed for the above reasons.

I can only go by my personal experience. My parents have used the same insurance agent for 40+ yrs. My sister and I have used the same guy for roughly 20 years. Her insurance is about 30 more per month. Insurance agent was asked why and said (and I quote) "Its red."

YMMV

Mel
I can't speak for other companies or states, but I rated cars for years and that was never entered into the factor. I was told one time that LE notice red cars more often when they are speeding etc. But that wouldn't affect the rate unless you were given a ticket. So I don't know any more than that.
