I think this FB was created by someone who was sick of being censored on the family's FB. I believe the person in charge posted here telling us to come over. May have been removed though.

You are absolutely correct! I like many others were being banned from the Locate Erin page because we had questions and concerns. The family only wants prayers. My thoughts to that "I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented". So I created a place dedicated to take a side, which is the side of Erin. The lack of discussion IMO gave the person at fault a false sense of security and comfort....Erin doesn't deserve that and who ever did it does not deserve to live a life of normality and secrecy! Since I opened the page info is finally getting out and guess what, the search warrants were released and they are actually DOING something!

My quote to Erin: "Beyond the gates of the base you live, I know you're out there; Love surrounds you even when the sun sets".

Sorry if my post caused any problems. It wasn't my intention

This is a victim friendly site. We do not judge the victim based on our personal beliefs. Read TOS.

I absolutely agree that this is not the reason we are here on this site. We all make choices in life for a variety of reasons. Those are called "personal choices" for a reason....

Where is Erin?

  • #525
Thank you, I appreciate that, because that is exactly what I'm trying to say and I realize my method came on a little strong and I didn't mean to be like that. I just feel so sorry for Erin [modsnip]. It truly breaks my heart. And of course I pray that justice can be served to whoever was responsible for her disappearance.

Unless the perp confesses, I think it's going to be nearly impossible to find her. It's like a needle in a haystack.

I'm pretty sure that most of these cases on Websleuths didn't happen because the people were bad or immoral. I do understand what you guys are saying, but honestly things like this can happen to ANYBODY.

Anything can happen to anybody. But I'm crazy about statistics, and one statistic to point out here is that middle class married women are the least likely to be victims of crime. When you factor in to that that she's having an affair, it puts her in the same at-risk category as young single women who are on the dating circuit.

Not blaming anyone for anything, just discussing what risk categories women fall into, as far as being victims of violent crime.

I wonder if the boyfriend was a volunteer at the rescue? If so, how long had he been volunteering there? Before or after Erin began? And, did anyone at the rescue notice anything unusual, IF he was a volunteer there?

Earlier in the thread it was discussed about where exactly are these apartments, in the search warrant.
I haven't read back through all of the posts, so please excuse if it has already been discussed.

" The apartments are in a two-story tan stucco apartment building at 6650 Jasmine Drive, a residential area in the southeast corner of the Marine base. The warrants target apartments D and F. "

I agree. If you have to have remains to convict, I don't think this is going to happen. UNLESS, something new and different comes up now that LE is aware of the red car meet up.

I'm curious. The weekend is coming up, with the promised surge in searchers and search effort. I wonder if that will still happen at JT this weekend or if they're now chasing down different leads that lead elsewhere. At this point, I don't think I'd be quick to volunteer to sign up to search JT. Just doesn't sound like it's going to pan out there. Or at the very least, LE would have to say I know she was outside JT at 10 a.m., we have solid evidence that she was back IN JT after that and then never came back out.

Imo, LE will not be searching more at JT unless they truly believe she is there...which I think they do. It is not like it is a hobby...it is hard grueling expensive work.

I'll be in Joshua Tree tomorrow and I'd be happy to volunteer, but I agree with you, I don't know that it will either. Unless, LE has more info about her possible whereabouts.

Right. It's hard grueling expensive work. How many are going to be out there this weekend when this ENORMOUS piece of evidence that they overlooked has now become fully public?

I'm in favor of water-boarding when they make an arrest! Think Joran Van der Sloot would have given up Natalie's remains if he had been water-boarded!

I am drawn to missing person cases, almost like an obsession. I am always shocked that someone can just disappear for days, shocked by how many children are missing. Every case is heartbreaking , but there are the cases that just grab hold of your heart and don't let go..like Caylee Anthony, Kyron Horman, Heather Elvis, and now Erin Corwin. I pray and worry, and read everything I can possibly find on the internet related to the case. I sort through the information over and over, trying to find anything to help find them...maybe something LE overlooked. While, I have never discovered a clue LE wasn't aware of..I am very thankful LE is always several steps ahead of me.. with tons of information and evidence I didn't know existed. And yet, Kyron, Heather and Erin are still missing, as are hundreds of other's . Sometimes , I can't help but feel that despite my good intentions , I am no better than the people who tie up traffic and slow down, breaking their necks trying to see everything that happened in a horrific accident.

I guess my point is to say this...Erin is still missing, her family is doing the best they can to do what they think is best for Erin to be found. If that means banning people on Facebook and trying to keep the focus on Erin still missing and not the rumors.. who am I to say that is wrong. I got caught up in chasing the rumor story and needed to remind myself this isn't a movie on tv. Erin is a wife, daughter, sister, cousin, friend and mother to be..and she needs to be found and justice served.

MissM31:
I don't think you should be attacked for pointing out that if Erin had an affair, it started a chain of causation that probably led to her death. Also, I know you agree that her murder is not morally acceptable given the affair. We take this for granted in the West, but let's remember, in the Middle Ages and even into the Renaissance, adulteresses were sometimes burned at the stake by the Catholic Church (okay, technically by the lay government, but the judgment of Church trumped secular concerns), and even today, in many conservative Muslim communities, women who are suspected of infidelity are killed by their husbands, brothers, and/or father, often with impunity. We humans are better than this.

There is a concept in psychology called "the just-world phenomenon" in which we distance ourselves from harm by blaming victims. I'm not saying you are doing this, but it is a natural human response. If her own behavior contributed to her demise, we are relatively safer, because we don't do what she did. Have you ever read an article in the paper about someone who died in a car crash, and when they mention at the end that speed and alcohol were a factor, you feel a little better, safer? Erin may have cheated on her husband, but we live in a society founded on freedom, where Old Testament justice and Shariah law are irrelevant. We need to prove who killed her and put him away for life.

'The search for Erin Corwin has not been classified as a criminal investigation, and there are no suspects or "persons of interests" that have been identified, according to an update released Friday by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department'

http://www.desertsun.com/story/news/local/2014/07/18/erin-corwin-search-twentynine-palms/12851447/

So, they think this 20 year old pregnant lady's just been happily camping out in JT all this time then?

I think it is ridiculous Erin's case hasn't been classed as a criminal investigation.
