Don't think that really means anything. They're holding they're cards really close to the vest right now. Just because it's not officially classified yet as criminal doesn't mean they're not looking at it internally as criminal. They don't have a body and don't have a confession or enough evidence yet. Party of me, the selfish part, wishes they'd say more on what they know. But this is their job and they know how to run it better than I obviously.

That article makes it seem to me that LE is running into some barriers working with the Marines (i.e. they are having to tip-toe through this investigation and having to be careful with every word they say). I noticed NCIS got involved to 'consult' but I have a feeling that it wasn't a request by the Sheriff, if you naw'm'sayin.

Honestly, at this point, they should add the line, "even if you've already reported your information before please call us back to make sure we caught what you were saying the first time".

You are absolutely correct! I like many others were being banned from the Locate Erin page because we had questions and concerns. The family only wants prayers. My thoughts to that "I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented". So I created a place dedicated to take a side, which is the side of Erin. The lack of discussion IMO gave the person at fault a false sense of security and comfort....Erin doesn't deserve that and who ever did it does not deserve to live a life of normality and secrecy! Since I opened the page info is finally getting out and guess what, the search warrants were released and they are actually DOING something!

My quote to Erin: "Beyond the gates of the base you live, I know you're out there; Love surrounds you even when the sun sets".

So is the person being alluded to, the boyfriend? Is he a married marine? Is it okay to state those things without his name???
I don't have any particular interest in joining a closed Facebook group unless it is particularly relevant to me, and yes I am on Facebook.

I can't imagine that they think this is anything but homicide. She was preparing for her mother's visit, by all accounts she was psychologically sound, the affair provides motive, and the red car suggests opportunity.

I think based on the news articles it is more than likely that she was having an affair or did have an affair, that the person more than likely was a married marine and the paternity is in question. Which does give motive to multiple parties to do her harm.

No one has yet been named as a suspect or POI.

We don't know who the owner of the red car is.

I do think that the red car is different than the red jeep cherokee with Alaska plates named in the search warrant.

I've been thinking about Erin a lot. It's strange how some cases draw you in.

Sorry, I haven't kept up with the who is who in this whole story. I'm not sure who the great sleuthers on here think it is....and the pages move way to fast to pick up on the ends and outs of all the players. Just thought I would give some of my theories. Ive found that following a lot of cases like this- usually its the easiest answer. Unfortunately, that's usually the person closest to the victim. Flashes of Scott Peterson come to mind. I really don't feel icky about jc though.

If the rumors are true....it's possible a man and his wife were involved together. Especially if the man's reputation and future career are on the line. It's possible he lured Erin out to meet him. It could have been a setup. They could have disposed of Erin within that 3 hours and the female could have driven erin's car to the spot it was left at. Could explain the hat and glasses.

It's also possible Erin had plans to meet somebody at that time (when the witnesses saw her) and she left to go somewhere with that person.

Again, the word possible- its also possible Erin did exactly what she was supposed to do and somebody totally took advantage of a situation. It's totally possible it was just a passing stranger or even maybe somebody she "sort" of knew.

See, as hurtful as it hurts me to think about this beautiful young lady being hurt by somebody- I really believe with all my heart, it was somebody Erin knew. If you believe the witnesses, it was somebody she knew AND trusted enough to get in the car with them.

Honestly, I know how fast rumors spread in the military ( probably as fast as they do in high school. LOL) all it would take is her to smile just a little long, giggle a little loud, or talk to a military man a little long for some of the military wives to say that person is cheating with so and so. Military wives *can* be catty. (not all)
On the flip side, so people don't think I'm bashing wives- military wives are also very loyal and dedicated. We are the biggest supporters. Together, there's nothing military wives can't do.

With my long post I guess what I am trying to say- I def. think the police know what happened. Heck, everybody on that base probably already knows. That's probably why NCIS is involved. Sounds to me like they are waiting for result to arrest their POI. I def. think they already have their person though.

The missing person investigation and search for Erin Corwin continues. Throughout the week, Specialized Investigators have been in Twentynine Palms and in and around Joshua Tree National Park searching and flying the remote areas. The ground search will resume through the weekend.

There is no information being released regarding possible witnesses, witness statements or investigative techniques used during this search. At this time, the search for Erin Corwin has not been classified as a criminal investigation. Additionally, there are no suspects or 'persons of interest' identified.

I visited the area yesterday and took several pictures and a few videos that might help some people visualize where exactly we are talking about. Which website (Flicker, etc.) is best for me to post them to so I can get them uploaded and give everyone the link? I want to make sure it's one that allows videos too because I stood on the running board of our vehicle and turned around at places like the corner of Ranch Rd & Valle Vista, which I thought would be helpful. Any suggestions on a website???
