Erin is very young. You have to remember she was 19 went she went missing. She's was still a teenager. Many times young girls fall in love and rush to get married but then when the thrill and attention are gone, the day-to-day stuff gets boring. If her husband was gone for part of the marriage, that might make things even worse for her. I can easily see an affair happening. Young, pretty girl a long way from home in a town where she doesn't know many people. Haven't we all done really stupid things at 19???

Very true, plus, it was stated that she started dating him at age 16. Makes me think, he may have been her only boyfriend. If the affair is true, she might have gotten smitten with someone that was giving her a lot of compliments and such.

About insurance- I don't work for an insurance company. This knowledge is just my knowledge. Your mileage may vary (YMMV)

We have a 2012 blue ford raptor f150. We pay more for our ford raptor as my daughter does for her 13 camero- red. The reason the insurance told me- they look at what the vehicle is worth and how much it would cost them (insurance company) to either pay it off or repair it. Of course, they also factor in everybody's driving records. (our driving record is much better than daughters)

My teen daughter has an ranger (that's paid for, so we just have basic) and she only pays 157 for 6
Mths.

I've always heard the red cars were a myth. Knowing wacky insurance companies and their policies, I wouldn't doubt they charge a little more.

So can we gather without getting in trouble here that Erin most likely was having an affair with a married marine, and that the paternity of her unborn child is in question??? I see motive to harm her.

Right. It's hard grueling expensive work. How many are going to be out there this weekend when this ENORMOUS piece of evidence that they overlooked has now become fully public?

The sighting by the Beasleys. Although the Beasleys reported their information at the time the car was found on Valle Vista, it apparently didn't become a part of the investigation until the story was published by CBS8. The LE family liaison told Erin's family they were unaware of this information until it was published by CBS8, and they have re-interviewed the Beasleys since reading that information in the media.

So if LE was thinking Erin went into JT in the morning and never came back out, that appears to be incorrect.

I think LE knew about the Beasleys all along. I think they know all the information being shared on SM. I don't think they feel they need to share it with the public, and I don't think they feel the need to share it with Erin's family. IMO.

Why do you think they would tell the family they had no idea about that evidence until they read it in the media, and then go on to re-interview the Beasleys backing up the idea that they didn't have the first statement the Beasleys gave. It seems like a real error to tell the family "we had no idea" if in fact, they knew. Makes them look sloppy and uninformed. Usually LE says we've got lots of leads and we're following all of them up. Not "huh???? we didn't know that".

And I certainly hope they know what's being shared on Social Media. They'd be remiss, again, not to have someone sitting reading the facebook pages of people who live in the area and discussion forums. But this Beasley clue wasn't shared there. They reported it to LE, and then weeks later somehow CBS8 got wind of it and published it.

I don't understand why it's such a big deal that SBCSD is saying it's just a missing person case. If whoever did it doesn't feel like there is heat on them then they may be more apt to do something or say something suspicious.


The second thing is I don't see what's wrong with them taking their time. If someone is accused of a crime it's a very big deal, there have been too many cases in recent years where someone innocent was convicted and several years later it was found out they were in fact innocent. You're talking about people's lives you don't want to get it wrong. It's kind of disturbing to me that some are saying a certain person is a suspect when in fact the only thing they may be guilty of is having an affair. Yes, it's wrong but it's unlikely you would go to jail, get the death penalty etc.

Could be the agencies working on the case aren't communicating well, or at all. Maybe there's even some competition to be the agency that cracks the case. Wig knows?

I think LE has known everything they've needed to know since the search warrants were signed July 1. So perhaps this particular witness was somewhat passed over, because LE already knew very well who Erin was last seen with and, IMO, where. If they're not building a case against the last person to see her alive, then this person must be the best criminal mastermind in history.

Well, apparently the last person to have seen her alive is probably the man in the little red car. And I didn't see a search warrant issued for a little red car. Although some posters are wishing and hoping that was kept "secret" and in fact they DID issue a search warrant for it, that doesn't seem likely when you put the search warrants they released together with the knowledge that they stated they didn't know about the red car.

The marine's wife is no longer in CA, IMO. Maybe she left, he decided he wanted a full time relationship with Erin. Erin says no, I'm working things out with Jon. Married marine becomes enraged and kills her. JMO.

UPDATE - Friday, July 18, 2014

The missing person investigation and search for Erin Corwin continues. Throughout the week, Specialized Investigators have been in Twentynine Palms and in and around Joshua Tree National Park searching and flying the remote areas. The ground search will resume through the weekend.

There is no information being released regarding possible witnesses, witness statements or investigative techniques used during this search. At this time, the search for Erin Corwin has not been classified as a criminal investigation. Additionally, there are no suspects or 'persons of interest' identified.

I think it was something that came out in the JVM interview. I'm not going to go and look through everything again, so I guess take it as a rumor. Maybe someone else will post a link.
