My thoughts on the car warrant situation: if you pick a person up using a car and somehow that person later meets their demise, perhaps it's easier to dispose of that person in your 4wd SUV? And maybe LE has info to that effect.

ETA: also, if it was wife's car, she may have agreed to the search and thus no warrant.

The red car in the picture is definitely a 06-08 Ford Fusion. I had a 07 red fusion.

I agree, the red car has got to be a Ford Fusion.

I just asked my husband to identify the vehicles without telling him why and he said the same thing. Ford Escape, Honda Civic and Jeep.

I think the SUV on the left looks like a Ford Escape.

I think so too, but I also think it's possible it's the same car the witness was referring to. Unless he's a major car buff or has owned one, I can see it being pretty easy to mistake for a different make/model, especially from a distance or after only seeing it fairly briefly.

As long as his account remains consistent and he appears convincing, I don't see how it could hurt his credibility at trial. I think his interviews could perhaps hurt the investigation though, in that if what he says is true then he could be giving someone a heads up who otherwise didn't know they were on the radar. Or, if they did suspect they were on the radar, he could be giving them time to cover up their involvement/devise an alibi during that time.
What if he got paid for the interviews?

When this case was first announced, I really thought this was a young gal who had a melt down, and took off for a time out. Sadly, I do not believe that anymore. Every time I see the picture of Erin and her husband it just breaks my heart; such an adorable sweet looking young couple! I think it's even sadder when you add the fact this was a young military couple who was honorably serving our country.

I think the spotlight is shining exactly where it needs to for resolution on this case. It's merely a matter of time now. I also have a great deal of faith in the honor and capabilities of our Marine Corp. I believe they are, and will greatly assist in swiftly bringing this matter to closure.

Well If the witness is telling the truth it might depend on the prosecutor.

I remember reading in "Outrage" by Vincent Bugliosi that Marcia Clark refused to call a witness that could place Simpson (in his white bronco) mere blocks from Bundy street at the time of the murders because she sold her story. Bugliosi said he would have still called her but that he would have established up front that she HAD sold the story and not allowed the defense to use that against the witness.

Jmo I don't think people are paid to go on news shows very often.

WAIT. Is it a stock photo and therefore irrelevant? If so, why do people keep commenting on the make/model of the vehicles?

I think folks are just trying to figure out if those stock photos are of the actual cars.

Where is the proof of the boyfriend besides hearsay? I have had an opportunity to glean information from post of the family members and close friends and what they are relaying is completely different that what is being said in public forums. As for my PI credentials I have proved those to the proper individuals within Websleuths and I would prefer to kept that part of my profession private and on an as to need to know basis. Thanks for your understanding in regards to your question.

It could all be gossip. Other than 2 news sites (the radio station and the one newspaper article) that have mentioned that Erin had a marine boyfriend... No one knows for sure. It could be false, but "sources" have told the reporters this information. There is a facebook page where others also gossip. Some of those people claim to know the people involved or that they've heard it from others that do. So far, a lot of their information has been proven later on to be true.....but I really don't know if it's true or just a really good guess. I *think* it's been suggested by a few people that the family is holding back information (or maybe you could call it whitewashing). Again, I don't know why, that's just what I've understood. They delete a lot of comments and questions from people. I don't remember hearing if anybody in Erin's family has commented on the "affair" yet, but I haven't heard any of them make any statement about it.

I hope that helps. This is just my take/opinion on the events that have happened.

Almost positive that the car is an 06-08 Ford Fusion, and not a Honda. Please my generic pic on the last page for comparison.

My neighbor has the same exact car as the red one and it is a 07 Ford Fusion. I am 100% sure about this as I look at it from across the street.

Boy, if it is false and the marine husband and wife got their faces plastered all over the internet I would think they could have a lawsuit in the making. Don't get me wrong. I think there was an affair. Just saying wouldn't they come forward and say it all is a lie?
On another note, I wonder if the White Rock Rescue employees and volunteers are nervous wondering what is going on?

If my name and likeness was being plastered all over the internet for a suspected crime I had nothing to do with, I'd be screaming it from the mountaintops to anyone who'd listen.

I get what you're saying. Depends on state law about libel, tho.

Just read the Morgan Ingram case (LOL if you dare)
Morgan died, most likely by suicide, but her mother has a blog where she flat out accuses 2 teenagers of breaking into her house and murdering Morgan. By name. If you even enter their name in google....it links to them being murderers.
Those kids tried to sue. Actaully, they just tried to get her to stop. It didnt work. Colorado has some funky laws about libel suits.

P.S. And on a funny note, my husband said, "Wow! That is a big satellite dish!" I told him there was no satellite dish in the photo and then he pointed to the circle with the arrow where you play the video!! LOL!! Never a dull moment!!

:happydance: Thanks for the chuckle Plumeria5 :)

I think there must be some substance to the rumors. I can't see LE being able to get search warrants for my neighbors' cars, for example, if I went missing, unless there was a good reason. Jmo

I feel pretty strongly that LE would come out with something a little more convincing if there was no way this guy was responsible, or if there wasn't an affair at all. Their response so far has been annoyed at best.
