True but if he didn't kill her in the Jeep then I guess I just visualize him convincing her to hunt in a different location and shooting her when her back is turned. Just me but celebrating a pregnancy by hunting isn't very romantic.

I don't think she was killed in a vehicle - too messy and too much to try and cover up. With him saying he was going "hunting" I'll bet when he's finally cornered he's going to be saying it was a hunting "accident". I thought she was a moose, elephant, turtle or whatever the he** he was hunting for. Ugh! I am so livid pissed right now I can't think straight!

Actually, the red car witness really complicates things for prosecution, since defense can say "she drove off with a guy in a red car", and give someone on a jury some reasonable doubt.

The photo of the car that was searched shows that it's maroon. Maroon is reddish.

Yes and I think he could have scouted out the area, pre-dug a grave, or found a place he wanted to hide her body.

I am just fuming!!! What kind of monster says LE cant prove anything without a body..and they will never find the body!!?
I hope LE gets enough evidence on both CL and NL to arrest them soon! I wonder if Isabella is afraid since her statement has been made public? No telling what CL and NL might do!! IMO

I so agree! I think this whole thing was "her" idea and she told "him" if he didn't do this to prove himself to her, she would make sure he never saw his daughter again. I think "she" was there when whatever happened happened. Just MO.

This is the High School NL graduated from.

The mission of Dimond High School is to facilitate optimal learning for all students to empower them to lead fulfilling and productive lives in a rapidly changing ...

Think how totally she must have trusted him...just horrible.

I honestly don't think he really took her hunting any more than I think she went to Joshua Tree to scout out locations for her mom's visit. He most likely told her he was taking her to "?????? place 2 hrs away to hunt" but once he got her where he wanted her, well.......here we are discussing this horrible subject.

I wonder if they put Erin somewhere in the vicinity of the horse ranch?

Thank you

Didn't get much out of it. Maybe someone else can.

I'm also wondering this. Can you imagine how terrified Erin must have been when she realized what was happening ?!

Jmo, but it seems like there is enough to arrest this guy. Not sure how aggressive CA is in cases without locating the victim, but good grief...this seems like more than we have seen in some cases, Imo.

There have been prosecutions in CA without a body, and convictions. A recent famous one that comes to mind is Hans Reiser- he killed his wife Nina, but insisted she fled to Russia. After his conviction he gave up the body.

Does anyone remember what part of Alaska he's from? Perhaps he's in custody up there. I would like to believe he is any way!

Anchorage? I think I read somewhere.

Unfortunately after reading NL's statement about never finding a body, combined with a lot of time to dispose of said body, I highly doubt it.

A potato gun or spud gun can be altered to shoot almost anything.

LE has the potato gun. The thirteen year old girl, told them it was in the green car. I was referencing what might have been in the black duffel bag, LE thought Chris might be trying to conceal.

Hi, new here! A few things about me:

I am a Marine wife myself, so I might be able to help answer some of the policy-related questions that come up and I'm also a native Knoxvillian, so Erin's case hits close to home with me two-fold. To date, I'm embarrassed with the coverage that the local paper (Knoxville News-Sentinel) has given this case, but I have to assume that, based on the way the "Locate Erin" FB page is being run (prayers only please/what affair?), it is because JC & EC's families aren't making themselves readily available for the local media angle, etc. Anyway -- hi, all!

To reply to the quote above: I think for a 19 year old involved in a sloppy, hormone-filled, affair in a small, nosy, military community, she would have agreed to go just about anywhere to spend a few hours alone with the guy she's lusting after. Having lived on Marine base in junior enlisted housing (many many moons ago!), I can tell you that there's not a lot of privacy. People sit out on their porches and just watch what everyone else is doing. When you hear people say the Marine Corps is a small world, it's true. You see people you know all the time -- all the time! So, they couldn't just have an affair on their lunch hours like normal, mature civilians do. Many young wives don't often have jobs that provide them with an excuse to be out of the house at certain times (EC & CL didn't even have the horse rescue place, as it seems NL was very involved there as well) and many families are one-car families, so they have no way of rendezvousing with a suitor. If I had to guess, I would say that this outing between EC & CL was planned at least a week in advance. I don't know if that adds anything to the case, since this seems pretty cut and dry, but I just wanted to share my (indirect) experiences with military extramarital affairs. Unfortunately, they happen a lot! What EC did is/was shocking to the public and probably her religious southern family, but it's very normal here on the 'green side.'

That's a screen cap of the ranch owner, IIRC.
