Did the friend forward the detective the actual text messages? Why didn't LE write word-for-word the texts as they appeared when received by Erin's friend. They're not written like that in the affidavit. It sounds as if someone was telling LE about the messages received versus providing the actual text messages (which is why a NCIS person went to TN).

I'm not certain but so far it is hearsay versus real evidence. Do others recognize the distinction I'm making or am I missing something?

Don't know why LE didn't "write word-for word the texts"...probably privacy, but I'm 99.9% positive the Statement for Probable Cause said EC's friend forwarded them to LE. (I closed that tab so don't have it handy.)

I believe "heresay" would involve an extra (non-LE) person in the loop, such as "Erin's friend said someone else told her that Erin said..."

This is from the PCA what was said by EC's friend in TN

Jessica Trenthan, Erin?s friend in Tennessee, con?rmed Erin and Lee were romantically involved and Erin may
be pregnant with Lee?s child. Erin told Trenthan that Lee was worried if his wife discovered Erin was pregnant,
Leafs wife would divorce him and keep him from his child. Ttenthan knew Erin and Lee were going on a day
trip together on 062.814, for a celebration of Erin?s pregnancy. "I?renthan forwarded text messages from Erin to
support these claims. Lee told Erin they were going, to have a special day together and he would be taking Erin
to an undisclosed. location, approximately two hours from 29 Palms. Lee told Erin he was going to take her
hunting. It is highly likely Erin could have been harmed by an unknown ?rearm. Sometime alter En?n left with
Lee> her phone was deactivated (turned oft). Detectives believe if Erin was injured and tell at an undisclosed
location, she would not able to call for help.

I Believe that Erin was An "Unintentional Victim" of an EXTREMELY Immature Boyfriend "on Base." Most likely... Her(AND Her Baby's deaths) were Entirely ACCIDENTAL..She(Erin), Was Most Likely Lured into the desert by Her (Boyfriend???/Unborn Child's????) REAL DAD, accompanied by dear Nich...(SHush!!!) The Two intended to Terrify Her into silence, yet SEVERELY Underestimated Erin's Strength as a Human Being... As for the "potato Shooter.., Well, I Can't EVEN Begin to go There!!! Blackmail Gone WRONG!!!

You think EC was blackmailing CL??

It is against TOS to discuss other members here. If you feel a post is a problem then please alert so a Mod can check it out and please don't respond to the post. It takes away from what this thread is about and that is ERIN.

I think it's real evidence...

A friend of Erin's in Tennessee, “confirmed Erin and Lee were romantically involved and Erin may be pregnant with Lee’s child,” wrote Detective Cory Emon in a probable-cause affidavit filed July 4 at the Joshua Tree courthouse.

The friend “knew Erin and Lee were going on a day trip together on 06-28-14, for a celebration of Erin’s pregnancy,” Emon wrote. The friend "forwarded text messages from Erin to support these claims," he wrote.

And the POI quickly packs up and moves to Alaska!?

"Nicole told Isabella that without a body the detectives did not have a case against them and the detectives would never find the body,” the affidavit stated.

Nicole also said investigators had searched her residence but missed something because they didn’t go through the garage.

She also “berated Lee in front of Isabella about not being able to keep his lies straight when he was interviewed by detectives because he was dumb.”

Nicole and Lee had been storing belongings, including a firearm, at the ranch in preparation for a move to Alaska, the affidavit stated."

Forgive me if this has already been addressed...
When the cops went in searching, was it not an indepth search? just a curious walk through? Erin had been gone a week or so already...they had a warrant...why wouldn't LE search a garage????? apparently they didn't even walk through the garage? Was it to early to peek in every nook and cupboard? I am seriously having an issue with that statement. Of course she was not going to tell them to go look there...but again this indicates she KNEW from the beginning what happened to Erin and probably where she is....

Link? Never heard of a Japanese Camp. Neighbor says the area where the houses and the ranch are is called Flamingo Heights.

Ask FlamingoLady (c'mon, you know I had to)

Maybe she was referring to the 1st SW which was July 1st when they searched CL and NL's apt.

Since they were all packed to move out, gotta wonder how much unpacking LE did when executing the search warrant and if that had anything to do with them missing the garage.

What about this body they found in Merced. Could that be Erin? Possibly?

The search warrant was served 7/1/14, per the Statement of Probable Cause. That search warrant was the one they rushed through in the middle of the night, just a couple days after she went missing. Kinda difficult to believe that with all the hassle to get in that house quickly, they didn't make use of it and search every square inch. Either LE TOTALLY screwed this one up, or NL is lying. No clue which happened, but I've been very curious about this as well!

She might not know much about EC. EC's sister-in-law described her as very, very reserved.

Do we know how long CL and NL were in 29 Palms? Or how long they were volunteers at the ranch?

And the tone was almost as if IM felt she was doing Erin a favor, whereas it seemed like IM felt that CL really helped her out. She made it seem that she didn't know much about Erin at all. The interview seemed very matter of fact, with no emotion/concern over Erin at all.

I'm not sure Woe; my point was mainly that I didn't believe Erin had necessarily talked to her friend per phone about her planned outing with CL, but rather it seemed it was communicated thru text messages. :)

Is this the news from 2 days ago? If so, that body was identified yesterday (not EC)

Don't know if CL and NL were at 29 Palms prior to his deployment, but he deployed fall of 2012, returned around April 2013. I have seen pictures on the Horse Rescue FB/Web site of both volunteering in 2013, don't know dates, but somewhat early summer iirc.
