I wonder at what point LE will abandon the search? Surely they can't keep utilizing these resources unless they have unlimited funding, which I highly doubt.

I think now would be a great time for TES to jump in and help. Please Tim, we need to find Erin.

I think she will be found by a hiker, biker, mine explorer, off roader or someone out that accidentally discovers her remains, sorta like in the McStay case. A shallow grave somewhere.

Quite frankly, I am surprised they have searched this long.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. And, realistically, it could be years. :(

You could very well be right Seajay; anything is possible. I do tend to believe, however, the theory that she was dropped down one of those mines to be the most likely. Requires less effort, and less opportunity to be discovered. A quick ditch and run.
I get livid just typing this. Not just one death, but two. (The baby). This is a double homicide.

I wonder if other search warrants have been obtained. The only thing I've found was from a not-so-reputable site that said yes. There are other warrants issued in SB County, but they are all sealed afaik.

I think the other 5 warrants that were requested sealed after the last one was obtained by the media are all related to Erin's disappearance. As far as what they were for? One was probably for Erin's phone records. Another was probably for CL's phone records. The other three? Your guess is as good as mine.

IMO I don't think so. But IMO I also think the family has known that LE has thought Erin was not of this world from very early on.

Sadly, I agree. LE would not be investing the massive resources scouring the JT terrain if they didn't believe (due to some level of evidence), that she was there. LE isn't in the business of hunt and peck. And let us remember, they have the added resources of military intelligence. Those Marines and their technologies are bad azz... to say the least.

I am wondering at this point, about The L couple's daughter. Shouldn't authorities be concerned about a child who is living with someone who has been found to have illegal weapons, is cast as persons of interest (have they been named that?) in a high profile murder case?! I mean, if CL *did* indeed murder EC and her unborn baby....he murdered his OWN (alleged) CHILD. If he murdered one of his (alleged) children already, what will happen to his living daughter if he becomes cornered and panicked? Is this child at risk? I hope the authorities are thinking of this.
That poor child, she would be better off living with other relatives right now?

THIS IS ALL JUST OPINION AND SPECULATION. CL and his wife have not been proven guilty of anything. I am just speculating, and worrying about the child living with them....considering the cast of suspicion over them.

I agree with you. This is the least messiest way. Not a lot of effort and very few tools. No digging, no shovels, no sweat, no mess. Trick her into going with him to explore one of the remote or unknown mines, get her close to the edge, give her a shove and walk away. Get back in the Jeep, drive home, no body, no crime as NL said. How despicable is that?

I still find myself relieved when each day goes by and they haven't found her yet. That means there is still a chance she may be out there alive somewhere. I know I know chances are slim but I just don't have the heart to accept the worst. Not when we are talking about a 19 year old just starting her life and an innocent unborn child. :(

tHINK recently of abigal Hernandez who was released by her captor after 9 months. She is thinner and her face looks like she has been through an ordeal but she is alive. Hercaptor will receive at least 7 years in jail

I know what you mean Jambri. I realize it's probably pretty unrealistic at this point but I want to believe so badly that she might still be alive somehow. I feel this way in a couple of other cases I follow as well. They haven't been found so maybe, just maybe , they're still alive. (Erin, Susan Jacobsen, Bryce Laspisa come to mind right away) Do I think it's likely? No... but I want to believe it's still possible.

Out of your list, Bryce is the only one that in my mind, has a chance of still being alive.

Yeah... I agree with you, but I'd love to be wrong. I would also be so happy to see Erin come back and say "omg this is embarrassing but I screwed up."

I don't think it'll happen, but I'd love to see it.

I quit following her case. I thought she ran away. This is the first I've heard she was held captive. Thanks.

I am not optimistic about Erin because of police response, ,they know far more than they have made public, Imo.

Regarding Alaska getting the info, I personally emailed links from the stories with warrant details to 25+ reporters at Atn n in Alaska but it appeared none ran the stories and I got no return responses. According to my research, Nichols family is well known with some in political office and her grandparents run a bed and breakfast but it doesn't appear she is close to family. I haven't found anything on CL.

I'm starting to really feel in my gut of guts that if EC was still alive she would have made some kind of contact with someone. As close as it's been reported she was to her mother, family, friends...I just feel someone would have heard something. I just feeling this but I feel she's gone and I just pray I'm wrong. If not, I pray that they find her for the sake of her family and friends that love her. They deserve to have some peace and closure in this. It angers me that there are people living, breathing, eating, going on with life....that know what happened to this young girl. I don't agree with what she's done but I'm not here to judge that. It's painfully obvious when I said that being involved in cheating and all that nonsense never leads to anything good...was a true statement. Right now I just want this poor girl found once and for all. The people that know the truth and have the nerve to let this drag on and on......I don't know. I can't even say it right now. I'm just so over the whole thing and wish people would have a heart and open their mouths and be done with it. This is so wrong to drag this whole thing out......
Praying for you Erin....wherever you are. :(:sigh:

THANK YOU< THANK YOU :loveyou:

Even if they haven't run anything yet, at least you are making them aware of it. I do think it might take awhile for anyone up there to trust what comes from the lower 48 though. They tend to distrust anything outside of their border.

O/T-- I know a whole lot of people were following this case as it was happening, as was I. I just got this from a closed thread and the update was posted by a mod. I don't know why the thread is closed, but here is the results of the autopsy.

Arcadia firefighter Mike Herdman had drugs in his system when he died, report says

The Arcadia firefighter who went missing and was later found dead in Los Padres National Forest had ecstasy and alcohol in his system when he died, according to a toxicology report.

Michael Herdman was found June 27 at the bottom of a cliff after going missing during a camping trip with fellow Arcadia firefighter Taylor Byers. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s report states detectives found evidence at the campsite that suggested alcohol, ecstasy and Adderall use. Sgt. Denise Sliva could only confirm that evidence of drug and alcohol use was found but not the specific type of drugs.

I sent the link to the article about his autopsy report to a mod to add to the closed thread so followers could be informed.
