Has anyone thought that perhaps it wasn't EC OR CL in those cars? I know we've talked about NL wearing ballcaps. What if someone else picked her up? I know it's a stretch, but just brainstorming. Is there any scenario in which this could have been JC and NL, and they were trying to track down their missing spouses to see if they were together? I know this is unlikely, but...

As for unknowns looking at EC’s car, they probably would not have gotten out of her car. I have to believe that if EC had left her car there, she would have locked it before leaving. That would not allow any random person from entering it wo use of force. The actions related by MB suggest the person leaving the vehicle exited the car and appeared to be locking it. (use of key phob), This suggest either EC or someone with the keys. Three possibilities here: EC, either person(s) having EC’s keys or JC, as he would also have a set of keys (not positive here be a common assumption)
JC being there at that time suggest a female with him but if he had seen EC’s car, he probably would have gotten out himself and inspected it and not remained in the RED car.

We really know so little that I definitely think it is a possibility and shouldn't be discounted as completely improbable. We don't know if video footage shows NL and/or JC leaving base that day and don't know if they had all of the video footage prior to serving the original leaked search warrant. Keep in mind, if it was JC then, unfortunately, it also means he lied to LE about not knowing where her car was in the first few days she was missing. *I am not stating that he did lie or he is involved in any way* MOO.

http://www.cbs8.com/story/26028006/...arine-wife-had-rendezvous-with-man-in-red-car

I am still really struggling with the description of the guy in the red car; at one point MB says light colored, sandy hair, and NOT a big buff guy.
CL has dark hair, and is definitely buff. :/

But all the pic's we are seeing Of CL are not recent ones, I don't think?? I don't know but I totally without a doubt believe MB. I don't really think he got that good of a look at him. He was more focused on the girl, thinking maybe she was having car trouble. I still think that what MB happened to observe that Saturday morning will add a lot of relevance to this case, that plus the texts from Tn. We don't have a clue of what all LE has that has been sealed from the public. There are still 6 search warrants that we are not privy to. MOO ~

Maybe the red car driver was actually a masculine looking older woman???

More than likely LE already had CL's DNA as the Marine Corps collects it to use for remains identification. They (the military) will allow access to the repository for LE purposes.

Could be yet another reason NCIS is involved?

My brain is starting to hurt, so correct me if I'm missing something. Assuming MB's statement is correct, EC was picked up by a red car, and her car remained in the position closer to the road. Then, later, police find EC's car 100 feet further in with a single set of footprints from the drivers side of ECs car into the passenger side of a jeep. So, if CL was alone at this time, he would have gone from EC's car into the passenger side of his own car and crawled over to the driver side to drive away. Is this correct? But then, wouldn't police have noticed the footprints and tire tracks that were made (A) from driving the jeep to the original meeting spot to move ECs car, (b) from moving the jeep 100 feet in, and (C) from moving ECs car 100 feet in. Help please?!

I personally think that LE knows exactly what they're doing, and are keeping all this as quiet as they can. Even going so far as to say EC may have left on her own. They don't want to scare CL into taking off and leaving the country. They want to make sure CL comes back to Calif. for his court date in Sept. But I'm willing to bet that they are keeping a real good eye on him.
Just my own speculation of course.

Just a thought about the red car. Early on in our threads there was some info about JC taking a neighbor lady to her Drs. Appointment.. I don't know what day that happened. Maybe they used her car? Red?

  • #649
Well didn't he have to call at some point to get the officers out there to talk to him? I never said he was the first to call, and I know about the water guy. I just don't think he was inserting himself into the case at that point to get on the news.

He most likely saw "the breaking story" on their local news. They probably showed the area where it was found and what make and model EC's car was. I also remember him saying that it was right behind his house, so he could have seen all the police there and went over.

No. Not her car. She needed the ride because her husband had her car. AND didn't that happen after EC went missing? And JC's mother watched her kid?

Megli STILL shows NO remorse at all for Erin. All she said was "I'm hoping. They're doing everything they can and that makes me feel better. We'll be here waiting for her". COME ON :gaah:
Yet in her 1st interview she spoke at lengths about how great CL is. I cannot imagine why there is absolutely NOTHING about Erin missing on her Horse Rescue Page. Erin was one of their own!!! I mean she volunteered for IM for at least 7 months and paid her $100.00 a month to sponsor a horse there. The only thing she said about EC in her first interview was she was very gentle with her horse????

Look it, if something bad happened to someone that my best friend's spouse was having an affair with I wouldn't have very many condolences or consoling, or good things to say about them either, would you? Seriously? COME ON ... (If I'm looking at things from her perspective: ) I'm not going to forget what they did just because of foul play, or because the whole world is suddenly looking on expecting me to. MOO Just saying, Megli has perfectly justifiable reasons not to comment on Erin's disappearance at all.

Are you being sarcastic? Hard to tell here. I hope so.

I didn't think about that reason for DNA collection.

That is what my grandmother called "damning with faint praise". I believe IM sees herself as a Momma Hen around the ranch, and CL and NL were her two favorite chicks. CL helped around the ranch, he fixed things, he drove the hay truck, he was good with the horses, etc. She seems to have almost adopted NL and CL. Let them use her vehicles, stay at the ranch, etc. I doubt she had a problem with EC until the affair. And, I'm convinced NL told her about the affair, chick to Momma Hen. Then IM saw EC as an interloper who had caused trouble with her two favorite chicks. That's why she isn't as concerned for EC as she should be.

She still told LE the truth, so I give her that, but I'll bet she totally freaked out when it got out what she had done. I'm sure NL probably called and gave her a real earful. That's why she was doing all that back-tracking. She was trying to smooth things over with her two favorite chicks.

MOO

Okay, you guys are going to have to help me out on this one because I don't quite understand where you are coming from.

We know IM at least has affection for Nichole, and her child.

We know IM must know by now that Nichole's husband was having an affair with Erin

We know that an affair at least put the Lee's marriage at risk, including stable family life for their little daughter.

Why is it surprising that IM wouldn't have that many good things to say about Erin? I'm actually asking you, both Dmacky and RSC, because I
don't understand your points of view.

I agree with most everything you said except CL. I don't think she ever liked CL, she just put up with him for NL's sake. She obviously couldn't really let on that she didn't like him though, nobody takes 'you married a complete moron' very well at all.
