Police on Tuesday were investigating the killing of internationally-known Toronto hairdresser and beauty company executive Fabio Sementilli, who was found beaten and stabbed at a Los Angeles home.

Detectives did not immediately provide a possible motive. They said his black 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera was missing from the home.

Paramedics found the 49-year-old Sementilli on Monday on the patio of a gated house in the upscale Woodland Hills neighbourhood. He was bleeding profusely and died at the scene

Video, " twists and turns in the investigation "

"This is horrifying, it's very horrifying," said Eric Walker, a Woodland Hills resident. "It makes you want more protection for yourself, cause usually around here we walk, everybody walks."

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call Det. Steve Castro of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Bureau Homicide division at 818-374-1925.

Beloved hairstylist, known as 'Big Daddy' found stabbed and beaten to death in his upscale Los Angeles home

  • Fabio Sementilli, 49, was found stabbed and beaten in his Los Angeles home
  • He was a professional hairstylist and international executive to hair companies
  • His wife and daughters found him on their patio on Monday evening
  • His 2008 Porsche Carrerra 911 was also stolen and used as a getaway car

The neighborhood has reportedly experienced a number of burglaries recently, but police are investigating whether the homicide was directly targeted at Sementilli, according to CBS LA.

Sementilli, known lovingly as 'Big Daddy' was known for his love of family and mentoring, and has been mourned by his industry following his sudden death.

This goes down for me as one of the most “What the heck was she thinking” cases I’ve followed. Glad Fabio received justice.

The Sementilli sisters really defended their brother and continued to keep his memory alive. Their press conference afterwards was so sad. Saying they would gladly take their family name back from Monica since she clearly didn’t want it. Loved that.

The daughters are victims too and I can’t blame them for sticking by their mom right now. It’s a lot to process. Monica obviously didn’t help them after this happened and who knows if they’ve recovered or received counseling. I hope they can someday go back to the Sementilli family where they will be lovingly welcomed.

I am puzzled in cases like this where one of the parents is found guilty of murdering the other and the children, at least most of the time, rally to the remaining parent. I do understand that to some extent, but when the evidence is so clear as it was in this case, the children continue to defend, in this case, their mother. The children in cases like this are also victims of the selfish murdering parent who not only murdered their partner, but did not care a whit about their children. Selfish does not even begin to describe Monica.

'Fabio Sementilli's Sisters: 'We Can Never Forgive What She's Done'

Fabio Sementilli's sisters, Mirella Sementilli and Lori Picillo, speak after Monica Sementilli was found guilty of murder and conspiracy in the death of 49-year-old Fabio. (4/11/25)'

This is a lovely photo of the family. They were close and so fond of each other. Eight long years to wait for justice.

April 11, 2025 article - Love? Hmmm. Her statement would be true if that’s all they had.

[…]

“Just because we fell in love does not make us criminals,” Sementilli can be heard telling Baker at one point.

Coming up -
April 30th - Christopher Austin gets sentenced
and on
June 2nd - Monica gets her sentence.
I thought he was already sentenced to 16-life?

For some reason, I feel badly for Austin. He definitely deserves to be in prison, but I just found him to be sad, remorseful, and used by Rob. Obviously he made the choice to participate in the crime, but he came across as a broken man.

She failed to mention that he was already a convicted criminal when she decided to have an affair with him. He had already made himself a criminal and love had nothing to do with it.

More like “Just because” he was a convicted criminal she decided that she wouldn’t let that stop her. She went one step further and chose to enter into a criminal act of murder with this convicted criminal.

People who date criminals, sex offenders, etc are asking for trouble. Birds of a feather…

Thanks @Niner. Austin's sentencing is right around the corner. I think Monica gets sentenced on June 23rd.

Sentencing for Monica Sementilli is scheduled for June 23 in Department 101 of the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

Yes - sorry - on the 23rd of June. I had the wrong date under Austin's stuff - but have her on the 23rd. Thanks for correcting me! :)
