CA CA - Fresno Co, near I-5, WhtFem 17-25, HC866, in shallow grave, Jul'93

Anyone can I help me for submitted this case into Namus database? My english is very very bad!

I just sent an email to the Fresno Sheriff's office cold case unit to see if there are any photos available, more information and if there have been any rule-outs. This case does feel like it could be solved if we had a reconstruction and photos of the clothing and accessories. As Springrain mentioned it would be good to get a photo of the ring circulated via social media.

(Sorry, Romulus. I don't know anything about getting cases submitted into NamUs.)

I grew up on Madera and I think I remember that case, although it wasn't the only one. It was either 90 or 91 that Arlene Sanchez and Dorothy medina were murdered by gangs and I got interested in crime then. So I think I took mental note of that case. Or one like it.

My father worked on various farms in Three Rocks from 1988 until 1992, and was born & raised nearby, so he is very familiar with this area.

During last summer, the two of us were driving down rows of fields in Huron. He motioned to one of the fields, and said "There was a dead man dumped there." He explained that, when he was doing work in the fields around 1990, he happened upon the body of a Hispanic guy. He couldn't remember if he'd been stabbed or shot, but he was murdered. He added that, in that area, there were lots of farm workers, some of which were illegal immigrants.

I'm thinking the UID woman may have been an illegal immigrant and either the communication between the two countries in the early '90s was poor, or that her family feared filing a missing person report for her out of fear of being discovered as illegal immigrants.

I think this case could really benefit from a facial reconstruction--someone that worked there around that time may recognize her from that. There is a decent chance my father could've known her at one point, so I would really love to see a reconstruction.

Hey there Ivan,

No trouble at all, thanks for emailing. I appreciate this because I am not always able to search and ask agencies to enter cases. The job is extremely busy, especially my area so I don’t always get to catch cases like this when they should be in NamUs. However, the Coroner’s office in California will have to be the one to enter in the case, but no worries because I just emailed them and asked if they would be willing to enter this case into the system. Now, I can’t force them to enter but I told them that it would be very helpful if we could get this case into NamUs, so let’s cross our fingers it works out.

Hmm, NamUs gives age of 35-40, while DN still has 17-25. That may give us a wider age range to work with, hopefully it wasn't an error.

Christine fits this, except for the ring. But her height, weight, ect.....is very close. And the gold cap, unsure of.

Did anyone submit Christine? There are no exclusions listed on NamUs. Although, both the UP and Christine have dental records in the system, so they would probably have matched automatically, if they were a fit...
Did some digging on Christine and it doesn't look like she had a son, although of course the child in the ring could be a nephew or other loved one.
There doesn't seem to be a missing persons thread for Christine but I'm confused about why she was living with a random 33-year-old man and where all her clothes / belongings were?

Although, both she and the UP have dentals entered in the system.

He appears in a tiny black-and-white photograph with light-colored hair, wearing what appears to be a dark polo-type shirt. There's no clue where the picture was taken, and police have no idea who the boy might be.

Circumstances of Discovery

The victim was located when an anonymous caller, likely a passing motorist, telephoned the Sheriff's Department and reported seeing a hand protruding from dirt along the Kamm Avenue off ramp, near Three Rocks, a tiny farming community about 50 miles southwest of Fresno.
The badly decomposed body of a woman was unearthed. It could have been there more than two months.
A fingerprint check with the state's Department of Justice computer records, which also includes records from other western states, came up empty.
Missing-persons cases from throughout the state were checked with no matches. With the body so close to I-5, investigators assumed the woman could have been from almost anywhere.
Although the cause of death has not been determined, Fresno County sheriff's detectives are handling the case as a homicide.

I can try looking for the ID of this Jane Doe. It's just a shame that there's no reconstruction or rule outs.

*Also it seems there's no distinctive marks available :(

Exactly! So much info is lacking. Where is the picture of the boy? Reconstruction? DNA available? I would love to see an organization like DNA doe project take this if there is!

Ok, In reading over the thread it appears there is no DNA available. I wonder if there is a body that can be exhumed to extract some?
