Thank you for posting this, I had never heard of this case before. I found this article which talks more about how she was initially reported as missing.

You're welcome. I had never heard of it either until I discovered it in NamUs. I could not find a profile for her on The Charley Project or Doe Network.

Thank you for finding that article. It's interesting that she told the client that her ex-bf wanted to see her but the ex-bf has an alibi. If he does have a solid alibi and they did not meet up, what could have happened to her? Could the ex-bf have sent someone else to hurt her? There are many unanswered questions. I wish there was more information online about this case.

Hi, hope you don't mind me posting on this, I too got LA times link posted above - I'm assuming they also questioned this 'Alan Saari' who last spoke with her?

Georgiana Breckenridge, a 50-year-old certified public accountant, last talked by telephone Aug. 2 with a client who lives in Palm Springs, said Bill Robinson, spokesman for the San Diego Police Department.

According to Alan Saari, who last talked to her, Breckenridge had told him during their conversation that her ex-boyfriend was in San Diego and wanted to see her, Robinson said.

She reportedly did not want to see him and was worried he would hurt her, Robinson said.

- I am assuming Alan Saari is the client, which wouls seem strange if this is true she would divulge such personal information about an ex?

Yes, I interpreted it as Alan Saari being the client. I would assume that they thoroughly questioned him since he was the last person to talk to her.

I thought the same thing about her telling him such personal information. She may have been so frightened by her ex-bf that she felt she had to tell someone just in case something happened to her. Seems like she would tell a friend that info instead of a client but maybe the situation with the ex-bf wanting to meet up was a last minute thing so she just felt she needed to tell someone as soon as she could? Maybe she was worried she wouldn't have time to call a friend to tell them before her ex-bf got to her? I don't know. That's just a lot of speculation on my part.

If anyone has a newspapers.com subscription, maybe more information could be found there.

Breckenridge, circa 1991

  • Missing Since: 08/10/1991
  • Missing From: San Diego, California
  • Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Breckenridge may use the last names Dorfman and/or Smith. Her ears are pierced.

Details of Disappearance
Breckenridge was last seen walking near her office in the 500 block of C Street in San Diego, California on August 10, 1991. She was a self-employed CPA (certified public accountant).

She never returned to her home in the 600 block of Front Street and has never been heard from again.

A friend sent someone to check her apartment on August 12. Her 1987 Mazda RX-7 was later found parked in her driveway, and many of her possessions were inside her apartment or at her office, but there was no sign of her. The friend then filed a missing persons report.

On the day of her disappearance, Breckenridge spoke to a friend on the phone and said her ex-boyfriend, who lived in Riverside County, California, was in town and wanted to see her. She said she was afraid he was going to harm her.

Police questioned the ex-boyfriend, but he had an alibi for the time Breckenridge disappeared.

It's uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning. Her case remains unsolved.

Georgina was my tenant at my Columbia Place condo in downtown San Diego. She was on the lease, and when she signed it, her boyfriend was there. I believe his name was Alan. He was a big talker, telling me he was in bond trading, so some finance, though he was not on the lease. Georgie called me during the time she leased my condo, stating she wanted to break the lease and that her boyfriend beat her up and was arrested. I told her to let things settle down and we could speak a few days later. She remained at my condo until the lease expired and moved to another complex a few blocks away. I received at one point a bill from the homeowners association to "clean up blood in the common area," so I can assume he beat her badly. I subsequently sold the condo and a few months later saw that Georgie was missing. I shared that information with my realtor, saying how suspicious that was. From what I read in the paper, this ex-boyfriend was questioned but "had an alibi." The case has been cold since then, but it stands to reason that the ex was somehow involved. He may be dead at this point. He was around Georgie's age, so in theory, he'd be in his 80's today. I'm not sure if the police ever looked more deeply at that "alibi," but I've not seen any news this case was solved.

I have been periodically checking in on Georgie's case and came across this site. I noticed your comment, which is the most recent. I knew Georgie in Palm Springs, before she moved to San Diego. I was hoping I might recognize the name of her ex-boyfriend, but I don't see it confirmed anywhere. You said you believed her ex, who was with her when she signed her lease, was named Alan. The client who last spoke to her, and reported her missing was named Allen Saari. Could it be the same person, I wonder? The client who reported her missing passed away in 2016, and his photo was included in his obit. Does this look like the man who was with her way back when?
