Was it ever established who it was that was opening Laprimavera Specialty foods? Was it G or S or both? Or was it another family member?
I am perplexed a bit. I went to that page on fb and although its essentially been all but deserted since very early in 2013, there was an active post in late Dec...and it was answered....

Hmmmm...IMHO

If the person was on foot versus them being in a car why did they not drive off the second they saw the gun?

Something that has niggled at me is the fact that many of the articles have said Ilona and Sal were "sitting in a car" when they were shot. I know even if they were driving, they could still be described as sitting in a car but it just makes me think they were stationary at the time.

I do think Sal was talking to someone who was outside. The driver's side window was all the way down (and the passenger side was down a crack). It would only take a split second for a gun to be brandished and fired. It's possible Sal did try to drive away (which could explain why the car wasn't parked neatly in a spot, and why the windshield wipers were up). Wish we knew if the car was found running and/or in "D".

Maybe he or she did. But 2 were not home. Maybe he took Gianni in his car to where they were??

I would wait until all three got home. much safer & easier than killing al three in public.

La Primavera was being opened by Lenny Belvedere, Gianni's father. The phone number of that website is Lenny's. I don't know who said they were "the social media guy" but they obviously have access to the password for the La Primavera FB account.

Ugh. So he could have been held somewhere?

Oh gosh I hope not. How cruel can a person/s be? Gosh I hope he wasn't held for a month.

Frightening, I truly hope this gets solved.

Sorry, I can't resist posting one more time before I log out.

MOO is that the shooter knew that Gianni was picking up Ilona when she was leaving her shift at Macy's. He/she (they) were ready to ambush Sal and Ilona. Ilona may have gotten into the car and then Sal was getting in... but was met with the gunfire. Ilona was in shock and just stayed in the car, the shooter then shot her and took off. The reason that car was parked wonky was that there was no reason, at that time of night, for Sal to do an accurate job of parking the car in the space. Just park and pick up Ilona (or perhaps it was go to the Macy's door or employee exit and walk her back to the car). Why bother with parking accuracy in an emptying lot after midnight?

If you don't line in San Diego you are probably a conscientious driver and parker. Here, cars parked like that are all too common day or night.

Thank you for posting this. That "sitting in the car" phraseology has nagged at me too, and thanks to your post, it finally popped into my head why.

Thanks to numerous episodes of "Forensic Files" and whatnot, the phrase "sitting in a car" when used to refer to a couple kind of connotes to me a couple making out in a car. Which is probably why until today's news I was leaning toward the love triangle theory.

I've now abandoned that theory so now the question is, if they were sitting stationary, why? Especially at that hour? If he was picking her up from work I would think she'd be tired and just want to go home in preparation for the holiday.

Were they sitting in the car waiting for someone?

Or was this just some turn of phrase that got repeated?

AAAAAGH so many mysteries wrapped up in this mystery.

KGTV led with the story again - and several minutes worth.

Promo-ing that "next" (5:30 or 6 - forget when they break for national and then local and am being lazy and not looking! Ha) something about how the "ominous facebook post" "may come into play."

Assuming that's the one that LB (I think it was?) had posted awhile back about planning his/your funeral to one of the brothers.

I know it had been posted about earlier in the thread, possibly w/ a SC (or maybe one of the news sources had it w/ the SC) - but it's been removed since the day or two after Sal and Ilona were killed.

It had been dismissed by most everyone as a joke, though had raised eyebrows among those who saw it and media.

I'd think it'd have been looked into earlier, so am curious why it's apparently resurfacing as news now...? (I think it had been on Sal's page, not Gianni's, right? In which case it would seem like Gianni being found wouldn't have changed anything about that 'find')

This FB post is still there.

The person that "Liked" this post was Mario Donato... the manager of Mario's Ristorante in Lakeside (the business the detectives were at today).

I hear ya about the parking, neighbor...

And this brings me back to how neatly Gianni's car was backed into the space where it was found. That nags me too. If one has concealed a person, possibly dead, and a car for three weeks, parking it in a public place like that means that one has wanted it to be discovered.

If one wanted it to be discovered, why take such care in parking it, especially if you may be caught on security cameras in the extra time it takes to back it neatly into a spot rather than just leaving it parked any old way in a public parking lot where it would be sure to be discovered faster?

I hope answers are forthcoming soon, before my head explodes. :banghead:

I wonder if there is any significance to the fact that all 3 were found in a parking lot.

This FB post is still there.

It sure would help if we knew what posts were before and after this one.

This is why I am tending to two people being involved in the murders. A driver at the mall and a driver to pick up the person in Riverside when the car was dumped.

I don't think they wanted the car to be discovered, so they backed it in so nobody would see the license plate. Did they park it there so they could leave and and walk away from businesses with possible video cameras?

Why not just remove the rear license plate, then?

Not an accredited news source but a fairly decent "in a nutshell" article with pictures. Take it for what it is...

Gianni Belvedere: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

As I understand tomorrows presser at 10:00 am will only be addressing which LE agencies will be handling what. Hopefully they will shed a little more light than just that. Have a good evening all! :seeya:

BBM for focus.

But if they didn't want it to be discovered, why didn't they simply leave it wherever it had already sat safely undetected, rather than dragging it out to a place where it was much more likely to be detected?

I am, of course, assuming that the car truly hasn't sat there in that parking lot all this time since GB went missing.

I do believe this is the weirdest, most illogical case I have ever paid attention to.

It's from October of 2012 I believe.

And it was down for awhile I'm quite sure. Apparently it's back up (I've not looked, but that's what someone else has obviously seen) but at least at one point there was mention of it being too bad it hadn't been screen capped when it was first found.

KGTV will likely have it linked in one of their articles if it's not up there already as they discussed it in a several minute thing tonight - think it was at 6 pm.

I agree. I have to say, I am shocked. I was leaning toward the murder/suicide scenario just because it seemed to make the most sense to me among a lot of baffling factors.

Now nothing at all makes sense.

Where has GB been all this time? Even assuming he was killed soon after he disappeared, where has the car/corpse been? And why dump it now if it had gone undetected all this time, wherever it was?

Just one of a multitude of questions I have. I hope we get answers.

Also, do San Diegans need to feel uneasy that there's a triple murderer out there who could strike again?

I don't know a single person - and many that I know live in Tierrasanta or Mission Valley - who has any concern of this being a random person.

Frankly I think we're at more concerned about being at risk of dangerous SDG&E drivers who have killed two people in about three weeks...and had major negligence in several other situations in the last few weeks...

Everyone I know has thought all along either Gianni was involved and it was a love triangle type thing or else it has to do with associates of the family in some form or someone known to them - meaning either illegal dealings, drug issues, financial issues, or someone with some vendetta against people in the family/families.

No one I know thinks this is random and that the general public is at all at risk (and I think the SDPD's behaviour also reflects that)

Interestingly, the later KGTV coverage today (when they talked about the FB post) also said that given that the earlier predominant thought (love triangle of some sort) apparently isn't the case since Gianni was also murdered, that the focus is clearly now on the financial side of things - if money were owed, if there were illegal dealings of some sort, or if there were something tied to the business(es).

Pretty reflective of what even those I've just heard talking in stores, etc. have said.

Why not just remove the rear license plate, then?

Agreed. I had a quite bizarre and frightening license plate related incident happen a couple of weeks ago. My rear plate had apparently been switched with one from a stolen car and I was pulled over by numerous cops, at gunpoint (and to think I'd never had a speeding ticket). They took the stolen plate and told me I'd probably get pulled over again for missing it, unless I switched the front plate to the rear. They had some scanning technology that checked rear plates when driving by. It blows me away that cases like this go undetected, or people un-found, when such crazy technology is available.

Wow, I never thought Gianni did it...
But actually being told he IS a homicide victim is still amazing.
Who could even make up a case this crazy? :scared:

You did not deserve to die so young and vibrant. I hope you are all still together and in a wondrous place.
