  • The skull was found by two boys, Michael Price and Ray Shackleford, in the Bear River in Squires Canyon (about here). The location is about 3 miles north of Gold Run.
  • It was determined that the indiviudal died about a year before being found.
  • Age was estimated to be around 50. The coroner was unable to determine if the individual was a male or female, no mention of race either.
  • The skull belonged to someone with a small stature.
  • The skull had a set of "badly decomposed teeth".
  • There was no evidence of a violent death.
  • Police theorized the individual could have been a transient as no one had been reported recently missing in the area.
