Help Needed Finding Missing 26-Year-Old LA Woman

Critical Missing 26-Year-Old Female

San Pedro: The family of Haley Downen and detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Area are asking for the public’s help in finding her.

Haley was last seen on June 23, 2018, around 5:15 p.m., on the shore line trail between Royal Palms beach and the Trump National Golf Course in the City of San Pedro. Harbor Area patrol officers searched the area and found items of personal property belonging to Haley.

Haley is described as a 26-year-old, White female with blonde hair, green eyes, small build. She stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately1 138 pounds. Haley has a tattoo on her left leg.

This is close to me, and I've done part of that trail. If she started from Royal Palms, the further she walked, the less other people are around. Also there are parts that are quite rugged, climbing over rocky outcrops. You also don't want to get stuck when the tide comes in.
That some of her belongings were found is very concerning. I wonder exactly where.

I went down to the cliffs today.....but not as far south of where Haley went missing. The coastline geography prevented me from seeing if there were helicopters in the area further south.
I did see that the tide was very high today.
I can't find any updates

Still no news, other than a dive team is searching the waters, and the search is ongoing.

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --
A dive team with the L.A. County Fire Department has joined the L.A. Police Department's search along the San Pedro shoreline for a missing 26-year-old woman.

Haley Downen's family has not heard from her since Saturday evening, when she was last seen on the shoreline trail between Royal Palms Beach and the Trump National Golf Course.

The L.A. Police Department's harbor division was on the scene Saturday night, according to Downen's aunt Sue Clark.

"They had helicopters, they had boats, they had search teams out here on the rocks at night," Clark said.

Clark confirmed that Downen was with a friend on Saturday, but it remains unclear what exactly they were doing.

Family and friends organized their own search on Tuesday afternoon and the group of around 30 plans to continue looking for Downen again later this week.

Crews search for missing woman off coast of San Pedro

Several boats, including one marked Los Angeles Fire Department, could be seen Tuesday afternoon searching the water near the coastline, which reported that a police dive team was part of the search and a group of family members and friends and other volunteers mounted a search for Downen Monday night.

Downen's grandmother told the station the woman was with her boyfriend around the time she was last seen.

I'm guessing the boyfriend has been accounted for? I wonder if maybe they had parted ways, she stuck around the shore and something happened to her?? This has to be so scary for her family not knowing!

The LAPD confirms a body wasn’t found during their search Tuesday night. Also, they say they will be talking to her friend to see what information this person can share about Hayley’s disappearance.

I think so, not sure. In one of the articles , or videos, (can't find it now) it was said she went to San Pedro to see a friend. I'm assuming she lives in Los Alamitos?
So how did she and the friend get separated? Did the friend not go on the trail too?

It almost sounds like the friend never met up with her, or at least couldn’t find her when they were supposed to meet up.

Crews Take Search For Missing Woman Into The Ocean Near San Pedro

WITH her bf? Coast trail is visible in both directions......on one side are cliffs, on the other side the ocean. The only way he could lose sight of her is if he was preoccupied and not close to her, and on looking up she was gone. Only place to be gone is in the water....rogue wave (it happens) or did she slip? Another thing is her shoes were found.....you don't really want to be barefoot on those rocks.

Forgive me, I may have missed it .. who reported Haley missing? Her family after not hearing from her, or the "friend" that was with her? Did they report that they stuck around looking for Haley? I am curious as to what happened. If it was some kind of accident, I would think the friend would have gone to call 911 or find help ASAP .. unless the two did actually part ways, Haley stuck behind, and something happened ... I hope they find answers soon!!

Body found in San Pedro near search area for missing woman

The Los Angeles Police Department said the body was found at 7:43 a.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of Paseo del Mar. The coroner's office has yet to identify the body.
