Harvey Weinstein sentence should reflect 'lifetime of abuse' – prosecutors
Fri 6 Mar 2020 19.59 EST
[...]
In a note to the New York supreme court released on Friday ahead of Weinstein’s sentencing next week, the lead prosecutor at his rape trial essentially threw the book at the fallen movie mogul. Without providing the state’s desired sentence, Joan Illuzzi-Orbon urged Judge James Burke to impose “a sentence that reflects the seriousness of [his] offenses, his total lack of remorse for the harm he has caused, and the need to deter him and others from engaging in further criminal conduct”
[...]
She then itemizes a stunningly long list of Weinstein’s alleged sexual misconduct, drawing on a two-year investigation out of the New York district attorney’s office. She breaks the shocking litany up into three categories: “sexual assault and harassment”, “bad acts and behavior in the work environment” and “other bad acts”.

HW is a sociopath, and a predator. He won't stop his behavior, and he doesn't even acknowledge that he did anything wrong. He doesn't show any remorse or even admit his criminal behavior.

He won't change. Just like Bill Cosby, who is in complete denial that his incarceration is a result of his behavior.

I hope that HW gets at least 20 years.

Harvey Weinstein has Floor to Himself, 24-Hour Security at Rikers

Harvey Weinstein's getting special treatment in jail so far, but it's not necessarily something he wants -- he's being kept isolated and under watch 24 hours a day ... likely until his sentencing.Senior Dept. of Corrections sources tell TMZ ... ever since Weinstein was transferred to Rikers Island this week, he's been staying on the 6th floor of the main building of the North Infirmary Command. We're told the floor has 30 beds in a dorm-like setting, but right now, Weinstein has the whole floor to himself ... which keeps him safe from other inmates. Our sources say a 24-hour security system is in place to monitor the disgraced Hollywood producer's every move, which includes surveillance cameras and frequent check-ins by guards. As we told you ... NYC prison officials were concerned about Weinstein harming himself, so it seems

I thought there was an overcrowding issue in prisons. Guess I was wrong if a whole floor can be used for one prisoner.

I think Higher Ups there in NY never want an Epstein type exit again.
IOW, holding Harvey’s feet to the fire....justice for the victims...and showing they got this one.

I am sure that HW has gratitude that he is being well tended. I bet that he gets checks every 15 minutes. Heads will roll if he "mysteriously" dies.

Well, he is a movie maker. He knows how to make a scene dramatic.

I know because he is -appealing- this conviction he is not going to admit any guilt at sentencing. So by not expressing guilt ....even as small as admitting he has made some “bad choices”( eye roll)
IMO the judge is going to give him somewhere between 10-20 ....not 5!

I completely agree. There is some major criminal thinking going on with HW. He is going to have a much harder time than Bill Cosby, BC was practically a hero in prison. HW, is no one. Just another old white guy criminal.

Harvey Weinstein fell and hit head while in jail, is reflecting on past behavior, rep says
Hannah Yasharoff, USA TODAY
....
Harvey Weinstein fell and hit his head while trying to walk rather than use his wheelchair Sunday in jail, according to his representative.

The convicted sex offender, who is due to be sentenced Wednesday after being found guilty of two sex crimes last month, has expressed some remorse through his spokesman, apparently in response to a catalog of alleged bad behavior compiled by prosecutors for his trial judge.
"Now that sentencing is approaching, and after prosecutors piled on more uncharged allegations against him in a pre-sentencing letter to the trial judge Friday, Weinstein is experiencing a sense of remorse for past behavior, according to Engelmayer said.

"Harvey has had time to himself in an environment he appreciates to be vastly different from what he had known," Engelmayer wrote to USA TODAY in an email. "In this short, but overwhelming period, he has been humbled so much more than he could have known.

"He was mean, he didn't often show respect, he treated some people with disdain, and he acknowledges it. He recognizes what put him here, and he will continue working on himself to be a better person."

Exaclty. This PR campaign to show "self reflection" (but not guilt!) is pure b.s.

Yes, I read the statement, it doesn't seem to mention "RAPE".

Throw away the keys.
