No, I don't think they are even meant as a deterrent (except in cities where they are monitored). They just help LE go find the body before it's mistaken as a homicide, thereby saving the police hours and money.

Sorry for making a bit light with your serious post, Ducky. And it really isn't funny. I just am interested in the methods authorities use to try and deter suicides. Where I live, the local papers refuse to publish any news of a suicide, thereby depriving them of a spectular exit and 15 minutes of fame. Wonder if it helps as a deterrent?

The search at Lake Elizabeth is the choice of volunteers and suggestion by Burris, right?

I am not so sure people kill themselves for fame. Well, not for the most part, anyway. I would think they'd believe the people who were important would hear about it, so I don't think such a policy is really all that useful.

I think I read somewhere that in some states it's in the law that it's illegal to jump off tall structures... not sure how much of a deterrent that would be, either, if the person doesn't intend on living. Mostly, it must just annoy people who like to bungee jump.

Do we have a map of that area? TIA I'm behind on Hasanni's thread and also I'm terrible with maps. Any insight as to why that location has been chosen?

There's a nice map of Lake Elizabeth on the 'search' thread Kat. I would link you but for some reason I can't seem to master links from other threads. Blonde thing I guess.

Sorta like hollering "Don't jump or I'll shoot!" Dead is dead, either way.

I think in a lot of places suicide is against the law. So if you don't succeed you can be arrested or committed.

An easy way to link to other threads is to open up the individual post in it's own tab and then just put in the link.

Like this: Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - CA - Hasanni Campbell - General Case Discussion - Thread #1

I also open up a quote box and then cut and paste it from one to the other - though this only works if the thread isn't closed.

I do everything low-tech as possible. I am not sure how people quote from one thread to the other, either.

Looking at map for your bridge and had a thought ... if you come out of the Roxie Terrace address onto Tuplelo Terrace there is a train track right there, where would the nearest place be that the trains might stop ...Thorton Ave to the south I see where rail splits off and Smith St to the north another split off, ( trains could use this area to add and remove cars. also some business's to the north of Roxie that could be getting deliveries causing train to stop. could he put a pakage into a train car. I have no idea if this is even an active rail but.... just thinkin... Where is 'Little Man .....???

Protect, it is so weird you are thinking about RR cars, my mind was going that way too, has been for awhile . I think it's because there is a RR line near to Roxie Terr.??? If I'm not mistaken. Would be so easy to just deposit a package in a RR car.

According to his interview with Nancy Grace, he left Hassani's car door open and the trunk? Why is the trunk open?

He never does explain that, does he? Someone needs to ask !!!!

We have a request from Soulscape...... her post says this is VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!
The astrolgers need a time-stamp from the Walmart Videos....ASAP

I noticed that: dreamweaver, Frigga, jnTexas, Kat, nursebeeme, & WhyaDuck?, have all read her post can we all figure this out by watching every single video from each media release to see if we can figure out what the #'s mean on the bottom right of the videos??? It's time for all of us to use our wonderful teamwork to get this info for her.

O just love all of our astrologers & everything they do for so many cases here at WS's, but it takes our teamwork to enable them to use their gift to get some answers for so many cases. If we didn't all help them out, they wouldn't have the time to devote to doing what they do best.
:winko:

Here are all of the videos from every media that has released the tape from Walmart. As soon as one of us find it could you PLEASE post the info for her in the astrology forum! TIA To anyone who can figure out what those darn #'s mean on the bottom right.:blowkiss:

Are one hint is that it is daylight outside!

You know one interesting thing he DID say about that? He said he opened Hasanni's door, went around the back, opened the trunk, and then got the baby out of the car. Don't those snazzy beemers come with interior trunk latches?!?

If I remember correctly - Ross left the car door open so Hasanni could get out and begin walking to the back door. AND he left the trunk open 'cause the stroller was in there - yet he carried the baby around to the front. He probably leaves the stroller with Jennifer so she can get both children home at night.

I think, without a doubt, the trunk was open to block views...He's not going to tell the truth or admit to much.

Regarding the 911 call - usually the media requests the call to be released but I'm pretty sure any citizen can make the request through writing.

Thanks 'lumbo...

I'm looking for a bridge, a nice, tall one. I need one just a couple miles to the east of the 580 with easy access back to the 580, between Hayward and Oakland. I need a substantial body of water under it in an unpopulated area.
I'm looking for one that a person could stop on, get out of the car, and drop something off of without being seen, in broad daylight. So I need one on a straight stretch of road where you can plainly see what's coming in both directions too. Any idea's?

I know, I don't want much, huh?

Shutterfly, the San Mateo Bridge is basically a straightaway that goes from Hayward to San Mateo. A person could pop over there after going to say, oh, a salvage yard or something..... IIRC, it doesn't have a bridge-like metal top structure like the Bay Bridge or Golden Gate--it's more like a road across the water, which has a rise at one point. I'm not sure someone could stop and drop something in the water in broad daylight w/o being seen, but if traffic was light, people tend to drive really fast on it and it might be possible to do something unseen. i.e. drivers going too fast and too distracted to notice anything odd

google maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hl=en&tab=wl

There is another bridge but it is way north of Berkeley--the Carquinez Bridge over the Carquinez Straits. I think it would almost impossible to drop a package off the side of that bridge during daylight hours and not be seen. Stopping would be a problem, too. Also--it's too out of the way. I don't think the perp in this case (ahem) went too far out of the way.

I'm not sure about interior trunk latches--you mean, he flips a switch on the dash and it releases the trunk latch? He'd still have to manually open the trunk, I think...but WHY DO THAT????? If the trunk's unlatched, it would be common sense to leave it looking like it's shut so as not to invite theft. So there is some other reason for opening the trunk wide. Know what I mean? !!

I think so too. Although, it seems like almost too smart a move for this guy.

Here's another one. He says he left Hasanni by the back door, right? So we'd assume, before we knew him, that being a responsible parent he must know it was safe to leave him there. Well if it was so safe, and he says they NEVER cart the children around front, why didn't he leave the baby back there too?

My snazzy 2001 Pontiac Grand Am has one. Right on the drivers side door. Push the button and the trunk pops open.
