I don't pay an extra fee for 2/week -- that's the standard pickup. Though, when I lived in VA it was once/week, so it must vary by state. Maybe FF can let us know about CA?

It's possible he just took it to a recycling center. We have recycling bins here at my park, divided by aluminum, glass, cardboard, etc. I just drive up and put the stuff in the appropriate bin.

I'm really puzzled by the trash thing!

I have all kinds of family living in California and they are so careful about recycling...they cut down all the boxes and neatly pack everything. They all live in and around Monterey, Big Sur, Carmel etc. and have only one pickup a week...I think.

Where would you bring a big box like Ross and Jennifer had at WalMart? Would you just dump it anywhere that was for recycling? And how long before they pick it up? TIA

They do have trash service...Friday is the pickup day.

Now, I'm really confused, cuz I thought Eyes confirmed that their house wasn't signed up for service with Allied Waste?

If it were me, and I had a five year old, that box wouldn't be going anywhere until it had been a fort, a rocket ship and an airplane... Possibly also a castle.

They had no account for trash service. I was asked if I just moved in. Hope someone else calls tomorrow so we get this straight!

I was told there was NO account at that address - therefore no pickup of trash. Would I like to open an account...

I live in CA and we have trash pickup once a week. Garbage is collected every week and then on alternating weeks we have pickup for either recycling paper/metal/etc. or plant cuttings/lawn/uncooked veggies& fruits.

NG did give Hasanni some coverage tonight. Burris spoke briefly. It was interesting, not earthshaking but interesting. I hope Patty G has it taped, if she does I'll grab the link and bring it to Hasanni's forum.

The young reporter (with the very loud voice) don't remember his name, said that the canines detected Hasanni's scent in the car, but not in the parking lot and not leading away from the parking lot.

Only the car. I'm sure that's old news for you all but I thought I'd post it. There seems to be surprise that the LE there hasn't charged LWR with child endangerment for leaving Hasanni unattended.

Burris said something to the effect of "to let the LE continue with their investigation and where ever that investigation leads". He had a few other comments to make, nice change to see a lawyer handle himself with such poise and style. JMHO on his demeanor

In my area of Rockridge, it's once a week and they take recyclables and trash on the same day of the week. Additionally, they aren't too understanding in my experience if you don't follow the rules. They'll take a very full container, but no extra bags, etc.

Columbo - do you pay for the service? I was told that address had no account. I tried to see if a special pickup could occur and she told me I needed an account first. I pay $40.00 monthly here in Illinois for Waste Mgt. to pick up one can of recyclables and one container of non-R weekly. It's combined with fees for sewer and water.

Hi Paulette - who are you comparing Jennifer to? Who else is a psychology major? What did I miss?

I wasn't comparing her to anyone. I thought that as a psychology major she would have a better grasp of the qualities that Forensics Fan listed for LR.

But upon looking at her and LRs' natal charts, I see that the Sun, Moon and Venus aspects have clouded her judgement. Smooth, easy flowing, accepting aspects.

I shouldn't have put that in this thread. I personally think she is so much better than he is, and wanted to show why she accepts him and his obnoxous, crude, vulgar behavior.

Just think - if he is reading here tonight, I bet the top of his head will blow off with all the praise for JC's academic abilities. FF might be able to hear it.

I have a hard enough time navigating myself into the office each AM, can't even imagine navigating the galaxy. lol

If you don't care to help out the scavengers and don't have trash pick-up, where would you bring trash and big boxes to be compressed?

Every address has to have garbage pick-up. It's the law. You can not not have garbage pick-up. A bill is sent every 3 months.

That box wasn't all that big, flattened it would easily fit inside the huge garbage cans provided by the garbage company.

"Initially, we devoted most all of our investigative resources," to the case, Jordan said.

The Police Department's youth and family services division conducted a continuous search for the boy, and two full-time homicide investigators were assigned to the case.

In addition, the department's 22 homicide investigators were called in to help with tasks from surveillance to interviews with possible witnesses, Jordan said.

"We can't devote the amount of resources to this case that we had, but it doesn't mean we're not going to continue investigating this. It's just not going to be as many people."

In the event new information surfaces about the fate or whereabouts of the boy, another team of investigators - and other resources - will be assembled, Jordan said.

I'm sorry ! I really didn't understand all this. I thought that the neighborhood had trash pickup on Fridays--I didn't realize that LR and JC didn't have an account with Allied. (Other than that, I'll blame senility for not "getting" this earlier!) That is very weird--unheard of, if you ask me, and I can't imagine what they do with their garbage. I guess I got confused because around here, everyone puts out their bins on trash day, and I've never seen a house that doesn't have garbage bins.

Trust me...there was no account for that address. I will call again tomorrow and find out if today's information was a mistake. I even double checked the address with her once she told me 'no account'. Maybe she is new.

Seems to me that if there is some way to get around paying for trash pickup - Ross would find it!

The woman did ask me if I had 'just moved in'? Quickly I asked for a special pick-up and she told me I would have to open an account first. There must be other options for those not wanting pick-up - right? The woman didn't seem alarmed!

Yes, I do pay for the service--it's about $80 for 3 months. We can request a special pickup once yearly if we have excess recyclables. For example, when I moved into this house, I flattened all my cardboard boxes, grouped them together by the curb, and they picked them up for no extra fee.

It's unimaginable to me that someone could not have garbage pickup. You don't suppose they cancelled service because they didn't know how long they'd be incarcerated? Could they be THAT organized?

bolded by me.

I don't know. I've never considered anything else because I wouldn't want to have to take my garbage to the landfill myself!! What an inconvenience.
