I was amazed and happy to see on tv this morning that the reward was up to $75k. I hadn't heard anything about it until today--and I am local. Of course, if I had been reading in here, I would have known! :)

I wonder if JC will go for a lie detector test as soon as the baby is born? there won't be any reason why she shouldn't by then.

No doubt, they will claim postpartum hormones will prevent her from doing so.

Hasanni Search Organizer Combats Waning Public Interest

OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS) -- Sherri Miller has been organizing searches and vigils for young Hasanni Campbell since the 5-year-old disappeared in August.

A small core of volunteers continues to look for the boy, who suffers from cerebral palsy. Miller is counting on the larger reward now being offered to recapture the public's attention.

“He’s still missing and he needs to be found,” she said.

$75K Reward In Hasanni Campbell Case
Nov 11, 2009 3:52 pm US/Pacific
<snipped>
Volunteers trying to find a 5-year-old Fremont boy who's been missing for more than three months are hoping a $75,000 reward will bring some fresh leads to the case.

They've held a number of vigils for Hasanni Campbell since he was reported missing Aug. 10, but they say the latest one Tuesday had a poor turnout.

Authorities and volunteers have now raised the reward, up from the $60,000 announced in September.

I hope & pray that with the reward $ higher now that jsut maybe somebody who knows something will speak up finally.

Hasanni Where Are You Our Little Man?
I think of you daily even though I haven't posted in awhile you are always in my thoughts & prayers that you are found.
LR & JC know where you are...it's just a gut feeling I have.
How can they wake up everyday knowing what they did???

You will never be forgotten by all of us here!

Little Man help someone lead them to you!
Whisper Louder Little Man!!!!!!
It's been far too many weeks we need you to be found & justice served for whoever took you away!

I was so hoping that by staying away, something would break in this case.

I thought the same thing, but I am not sure if a person who lives with a person who commits a crime, can turn them in and get the reward? Anyone know the laws on that?

IF JC had nothing to do with the crime or the subsequent cover-up, I see no reason why she couldn't get the reward.

But there might be a "you have to call Crimestoppers" rule ... so if she called with her tip and her tip panned out into an arrest and the finding of Hasanni, then so be it.

They aren't married, and I am not sure they have lived together along enough to be common law (this varies depending on sate/country/etc) - if she decided to tell all, I am not sure he could force her to stay silent.

Of course, I think spousal privilege is a load of horse pucky, anyway. If my husband ever did anything like this, I'd send him up the river in a second, and would stomp anyone who tried to stop me.

I was mostly curious about the reward and the laws that govern (if there are any) the dispersion of reward funds.

Hypothetically, if I lived with someone who committed a crime, and I had no knowledge of the crime until after the fact and then turned him/her in, would I be entitled to the reward, even if the person had only been my boyfriend, girlfriend, sister or friend? I don't know the answer and I don't know if "spousal privelage" is applicable in regards to a reward, in a "common law marriage"? I am not sure that the union between these two even constitutes "common law marriage" in any state (length of time of the union)?

Perhaps, there is no way he could force her to remain silent, unless she is afraid that she doesn't have enough info to make sure he is kept in jail for a long, long time (giving her a sense of hope).

Noway, I pray JC had nothing to do with Hasanni's missing status or any cover-up. Hell, I pray that Ross had nothing to do with it either.

I honestly do not know how rewards are dispersed and what conditions may apply?

I was just thinking in case you have to be able to testify to get the reward; I don't really know how rewards work, but thought that might be an issue for turning in a significant other.

I think rewards are a curious subject. Some rewards are added to by the public (sometimes a philanthropist might add to a reward or a collection by private citizens are given toward a reward) and I wonder if there are laws that prevent a person from collecting a reward, and/or if the public/private party adds to a reward, can they (the contributor) stipulate how the reward is dispersed?

I gotta be honest, if I knew of a crime committed and knew the person who did the crime, I would report it as soon as I gained knowledge of the crime. I just don't have the heart to cover up anything for anybody, as none of us are above "the rules".

I want to believe that JC and Ross have nothing to do with Hasanni's disappearance. I go back and forth in regards to their involvement. I just can't fathom their taking in the children and subsequently inflicting harm on Hasanni.

Does anyone know if child services will continue to be involved with these two persons(instead of what I would like to call them) after THEIR baby is born? Considering that under their care a child no longer lives among us and both are the primary suspects by LE and everyone else, it would seem the new baby could be at risk. A new baby is different than just being pregnant. A baby cries even after the diaper has been changed and s/he has been fed. Babies don't care what time it is when they get hungry. What happens if one becomes jealous over the time and devotion taken away and placed on the baby? What happens when money has to be spent on diapers, clothes and medical care instead of the boy toys one desires?

Does this baby simply disappear into thin air also?

The only thing I'm familiar with is that perpetrators cannot profit from their crimes - so if someone kills their great-aunt hoping to inherit her money (which is maybe already in her will) they won't, not to mention the fact they'll be in jail anyway! But they can't get the $$ even after serving their sentence.

I really don't care whodunnit any more - just let us know where Hasanni is so we can find him. The perp will get his "reward" whether it be in this life or the next.

Drummond: Why the deafening silence from missing boy's foster parents?

By Tammerlin Drummond
Staff columnist

Upon his release, an angry Ross told reporters that the police investigation was "irrelevant."

"We are going to do what we need to do as parents," Ross said, regardless of what the police did. "... As long as I have breath in my body we will search for Hasanni."

Yet the truth is, Ross and Campbell haven't done any of the things that parents of missing kids typically do to advocate for their children and keep their names and faces in the public eye.

Rather than staying in close touch with the police, and trying to keep up the pressure to find their child, Ross and Campbell have invoked their right not to talk to the police. That means investigators can no longer interview the foster parents unless they come to the police of their own accord — something they have not done since their arrest.

Neither have the parents made any effort to reach out to reporters at this newspaper — or any other media that I am aware of.

Anyone who knows anything about missing children cases — can tell you that it's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.

The only thing that has kept Hasanni's disappearance from falling completely off the radar are volunteers who have organized searches, held vigils and fund-raisers. The foster parents haven't even been going to those.

Your 5-year-old has been missing for three months now and you go totally silent? No public comments? Not even an appeal for Hasanni's return on what would have been the child's sixth birthday?

When is the last time you saw either one of these two tearfully calling for Hasanni's return?

I would have posted the whole thing if I could have - I couldn't say it better myself.

THERE ARE a number of things about the disappearance of Hasanni Campbell that do not compute.

"I see activity, but it's all coming from other people," says Marc Klaas who offered the services of his missing children foundation Klaaskids to help search for Hassani. "The normal advocate in this situation would be the family, but here, there is deafening silence

He says Ross never took him up on his offer of help.

Campbell, who was pregnant when Hasanni disappeared, is scheduled to have a baby any day now.

Hasanni Search Organizer Combats Waning Public Interest

Sherri Miller has been organizing searches and vigils for young Hasanni Campbell since the 5-year-old disappeared in August.

“He’s still missing and he needs to be found,” she said.

This week’s vigil at College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Oakland drew just a half-dozen people, but Miller said she would not stop handing out flyers or searching until police determine what happened to the boy.

Sorry for the duplicate post everyone!!

IMO It should be used to bump Hasanni's it says it so well about the non-active participation of 2 people who claimed they loved this little boy so much....yet the their actions DO NOT COMPUTE!!!!!

TO LR & JC:
LR & JC Where are your pleas for Hasanni to be found if you aren't guilty??? :behindbar

You can't even come to a vigil for Hasanni....I guess it goes to show how much you loved Hasanni!! :furious:

Strangers are searching & attending vigils show more love for our little man Hasanni!

:sponge: We All Love You Hasanni! :sponge:

I'm also wondering what JC's excuse will be if LE asks her to give a LD after her baby is born!! What will be her excuse than??? I'm hoping & praying that once the baby is born that LE starts to put the heat on both of them. :behindbar

Justice For Hasanni!

Where is the outrage of being arrested and having the kidnapper still be on the loose?

JC's baby is due at the end of this month, so he/she could be here any time. God bless that baby.

Hasanni, God bless you ...

Isn't it bizarre? It's like exactly the opposite of what normal (?) people would do. Puzzling and irritating. You know, I feel badly for Sherri Miller. It's not her child that's missing, but she's doing all the work and probably at the same time losing out on time she should be spending on her own business, etc. Arrgghhh!

 • #359
Thank heavens there are the Sherri Miller's in the world. Hasanni little man you are not forgotten.

How could anybody refuse the assistance of Marc Klaas and his organization - sure seems to me like somebody doesn't want Hasanni to be found.

Hope they are having nightmares and night sweats and see Hasanni's reflection in every mirror they look in - this for the perp(s) who know where sweet little Hasani is.

Isn't Ross pathetic!!!??? He can't even pretend to be interested!. Well, if the media put him in glowing lights, we would never see the end of him. He fits the entire definition of the word 'Psychopath'.

:furious: I'm still waiting for an insurance policy to surface, one that has a huge dollar amount for little guy Hasanni.
